Bought the S5 years ago when it first came out and then upgraded to a Roborock Qrevo last year. Absolute game changer. Was a huge dyson fan back in the day but haven’t touched the Dyson upright since having a Roborock!
I'm unsure between this and the new Dreame X40 Ultra. After years of waiting, I will buy my first robot vacuum cleaner. I'm being careful and I'm still waiting for the reviews for these two models now.
So WHEN will Roborock crate a "buy back" option where current owners can get some form of credit towards a NEW unit if we own an old unit? I've had my Roborock for several years now, would be nice if I had an incentive to upgrade to a newer model. My current model is still going strong, but would like it if I had some of those new features. JUST SAYING, JUST SAYING.........
Funny that you say that, because i just got a notification on my Roborock app about a trade in offer program. Didn’t even know this came out until now, and now im extremely tempted to trade in.
And I just submitted my S7maxV ultra, will hear back how much they are giving me for it. I am very interested in the new one because of the edge cleaning.
The X40 clean better with the mop. The Roborock clean better with sunction. So it's really up to you - do you need better mopping or suctioning? I think if it's all suctioned well, apart if you spill mess around your home all the time, - I think the Roborock is better.
That is true, spec wise but I’ve read online that the app from Roborock is a bit more polished and the object detection should work better. I’m gonna wait on those reviews to make a decision :P
Strongly recommend against anything Dreame at the moment. The vacuum performs well (mostly) but their support/repair/warranty infrastructure is basically non-existent. If you want after purchase support, steer away from Dreame.
02:38 The Migo Ascender does The biggy though is that pascals don't mean much if airflow is restricted I'd like to see those two machines go head to head tbh
I have an S8 basic. One major fail on 8 series has to be dual rollers?. Small and fine sand particles that is just alittle damp or half dried to the floor. Dont get picked up even in Max+ mode. 😒 Both on my wooden/soft floors. That tells something. If it cant pick up loose stuff like this I cant see much use of a robot.. And the side brush doesnt move this kind of debris anywhere. Leaving 5-10cm of crap along the walls. Since its rollers sit between the wheels. Meaning it can never reach to pickup even if you have a flexi arm.. Another thing iv noticed. It also cant pick up crap any closer than 10-15mm to a carpet. Anyway maybe single rollers of S7 work better. I wish someone could test this for me.
After watching a few videos I've decided I'm going to upgrade my Dreame L20 to the Dreame X40. Roborock is very good (I own an S5). But in the test vs the Dreame X40 that I watched the X40 blew the Roborock out the water. And with 12500pa the Roborock is not coming close.
Strongly recommend against anything Dreame at the moment. The vacuum performs well (mostly) but their support/repair/warranty infrastructure is basically non-existent. If you want after purchase support, steer away from Dreame.
@@Hervinbalfour Would you update us once you have used it for a while? What made you decide on getting the X40 instead of the X30, especially with the X40 being way more?

There are four different levels of auction power you can choose and they are relatively quiet on the lower settings. The highest setting is easily the loudest but not louder than a big vacuum that you've used in the past.
All these robots are not suitable for people with carpets. The mop will for sure touch the carpet and polute it. Only safe option is to raise it up like Irobot or if it could be somehow hiden inside the robot body.
Overly expensive for a robot vacuum. Yes, it's high tech and latest model, but the price is too hard to swallow. I would consider buying if this is priced around $1200....
The lower tier S8 Max without the camera is $1399 for the promo, and then you have other models from last year that are excellent that get down to this price point. The auto emptying features are killer. So you have options.
I'll wait till the Robo vacuum picks me up and cleans underneath my spot, j/k.. Love your reviews but the price isn't reasonable for average people to convert.
When are they going to change to a system like eufy X10 mopping which has 2 large pads? I really like my current Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra, but it does not mop or vacuum corners. I see this one has some nice features, but how come the ~1inch mop head does not extend out like the new brush does (no corner mopping yet)? I also saw on the app a cashback offer! However, while cleaning my s7 MaxV, I never touch the water tank on the vacuum because it self-fills, there is definitely gross mold or mildew growing in there! I find the same growth of something in the clean water tank when its time to refill it. So they really need to find a new cleaning product that does not develop growth so fast! Its really gross that I have been mopping my floors with dirty water! yuck!
@pslawing None of them deserve the title right now to be honest. I'd mesh them together Frankenstein style - roomba j9+ for carpet, s8 maxv ultra for mop lift, dreame x40 ultra for brush and roller lift + edge details and eufy s1 pro for rolling mop, speed and object avoidance. Roborock or dreame for software...
It depends on your suction power level, normal levels aren't bothersome at all. It doesn't get any louder than a standard vacuum, at its highest level.

Just wait till next year’s model, it will be better. And only $2,200.99.
hold off until 2026, the Roborock S10 MaxVI Super for just $3,299.00
Get the older version it's way cheaper or get used one

How long does the vacuum cleaner last? Also, how long is the warranty?
Bloody hell nearly $3,000 aud!
Makes no sense
lol, it much cheaper in China since the company just think all the western countries are rich and stu**d
Roborock was ahead of time now they’re just ridiculously expensive compared to the competition
Friend has the previous version of this and they love it. This will be my next purchase
