Not as widely known as Iron Man? Before Iron Man launched the MCU - the Hulk had a 5 season TV show and 3 TV movies and a feature film! So I'd argue - Hulk was more widely known than Iron Man, at least for those that lived through the 70s and 80s.

It sounds like normie talk. So I guess the only widely known Marvel Characters are Spider-Man and Wolverine everyone else is C-list and the MCU started with C-list characters.
Spider-Man, Hulk, the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor are all Marvel A-Listers.

Yeah, that's one of the most stupid things they have ever said. I can agree about Iron Man - in my country he definitely wasn't well known until the Marvel movies. But the Hulk? Everyone knows him - not just comic book fans. He has always been there in some form. He's nothing like Iron Man. Nothing at all.

@@emanueljackson1728 True that! Iron Man, the Hulk , Thor or any of those characters were never C-list characters for those who actually read the books. They were marquee names whose names were emblazoned on the titles!

@@emanueljackson1728 LMFAO Hulk, Fantastic Four, Captain America, Thor and Iron Man hadn't been A-list characters in decades...Its literally the reason The Avengers comic was created...Its more hilarious when people pretend that everything they might read has to be A-list because they read it. Hulk wasn't relevant until Planet Hulk/World War Hulk happened which happened to be after the MCU.
Just because YOU think everything must be A-list doesn't change that even Marvel and Stan Lee himself said that The Avengers book was literally created because people weren't reading those books, so to have something to do with the characters they were put into a team.

How was the Hulk not relevant until 2008? He's widely a wide recognized Marvel character. The Hulk one of the most adapted and promoted Marvel characters.
So in YOUR opinion the Avengers were created in 1962 because no one was reading the Marvel books? 😂

Not true. The Avengers got the character very well, except for the large group of Chitauri blasting him down when he would've/should've thunder clapped them away. Age of Ultron isn't bad except for a sucker punch knocking him out and Ragnarok would've been different if he had been the focal point but couldn't because of reasons given in this video. Agree, despite whatever happened behind the scenes I think he made a good Bruce and you can tell the way he played the character this guy had been through hell. Plus I love how passionate he was about the film to want to rewrite it and fill it with cameos. I loved how he was watching The Courtship of Eddie's Father with the great Bill Bixby and of course we had the cameos of Stan Lee and Lou Ferrigno but there were other actors and voice actors spread through ought. Maybe we can get a multiverse film where Norton comes back as an alternate Hulk alongside Ruffalo and we can get Agents of SMASH lol.

Maybe Westerns? Who knows? No one thought "Star Wars" would be such a phenomenon. No one thought "Iron Man" would have so much impact. and then Disney made Hulk into Shrek!!!
Also, now, Ed is a better Bruce than Ruffalo... why? because Ed had the back bone to try to fight for the Hulk sake... while Ruffalo just ate what Disney threw at him and asked for seconds...

Sorry, a bit of a side track about the recent Hollywood strike. I had an experience with Motion Capture and voice acting and have to say even though gaming industry is a colossus these days, voice over actors and mo cap performers are not fully considered 'equal' talent as traditional actors. What's really interesting right now is that the mainstream, 'regular' actors demand royalties for their digital likeness when it's used on new projects they are not technically involved with. Something MoCap actors could relate to...I guess the movie studios figured that their 'creative accounting' and sometimes cruel contracts/ NDA's would go unnoticed into this new era of streaming. They were wrong, preparation is everything and they were completely ill prepared for this new platform of entertainment.
PS. You almost saw me as Leon in the new Resident Evil games :)
Also, can you create a tribute to the late and amazing Kevin Conroy? He's the sole reason I got into acting in the first place.

I never understood why this movie was so hated when it's exactly comics accurate, this movie totally respects the character of Bruce Banner puny and stressed and Hulk who is totally his opposite extremely powerful and dangerous at the same time, we can what we want on the fact that Norton tried to change the scenario or whatever it is tell you that he did it for the good cause and that it's very rare to find an actor so involved in his role most of them don't give a fuck whereas he actually prepared two other hulk films which would be as dark as Christopher Nolan's Batman films, but unfortunately the progressiveness to touch Marvel studios and Kevin Feige, with the takeover of Disney it multiplied by 10, they preferred to take Mark Ruffalo who although he is a good actor he absolutely does not correspond to the character of Bruce Banner either physically or even in behavior, his Hulk is similar to a gorilla out of the zoo and who is constantly being calmed down by Thor or Iron man
in short the replacement of Norton also meant the disappearance of the aggressive and monstrous Hulk, it was enough simply to adhere to his demands on the scenario to completely change Hulk from the mcu and to keep Norton, Feige would have accepted Norton's demands here is what would have happened: Norton still in Bruce / Hulk, Universal would continue to cooperate with Marvel and accept that Hulk also has a trilogy and a major place in the mcu in the Avengers films, Hulk would have taken his revenge on Thanos by participating in the final battle with Iron Man, Captain America and Thor and finally everyone would have liked Hulk
it was all down to one choice but Feige decided otherwise and preferred to lick the balls of Robert Downey jr and Chris Evans for them to be the leaders, he knew very well that Norton was going to steal the spotlight from them given the great actor he is compared to them, the MCU was based on Iron man and Captain America and made the Hulk a completely useless secondary character, I don't know what will happen for the future but Marvel without the Hulk that doesn't attract me at all everything and if we have to have a solo film and Universal gives the rights to the Hulk to Marvel studios only Norton's return as Bruce/Hulk will make me see these films with Ruffalo I have no guarantee and I don't like him in this role

Fun Fact: Mark Ruffalo was actually the director Louis Leterrier’s first choice for the role of Bruce Banner in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, but Marvel wanted Edward Norton because he was more famous at the time

I remember Hulk being more recognized than Iron Man during the 2000s. Hulk had movies, a ride, several tv shows, merchandise, popular toys, and so much more. Everyone knew who Hulk was. He was on the same level as Batman, Superman, and Spiderman for his popularity and image.
I didn't know Iron Man existed until I watched the 1990s Marvel animated shows like Fantastic Four and Spiderman, where he showed up as a guest. I even watched his show after those cartoons aired on Disney re-run blocks.
Years later, that's when the Iron Man movie came out and that he started to become more recognizable. And when the Avengers came out, Iron Man became a pop culture icon.
So Hulk was really popular back then, and still is.

It was the only Marvel film I owned for a while. Hulk teally looked like Hulk. The story was the show with modern FX and a budget. Norton would not have allowed a devolution into stand-up comedy. Too bad Universal kept distribution while Matvel got the film rights. That arrangement really screwed up thing when Disney bought Marvel.

Looking for a Hulk movie that focuses more on the inner conflict would have to look no further than Ang Lee's Hulk in 2003. While not perfect, definitely was not a typical superhero movie (which ironically was what it was slammed for) and had is own sense of uniqueness. There's more emotional heart, drama, and reflection where the other itineration's of Hulk in the other movies that followed just seemed to pale in comparison. Perhaps it could be argued that it was ahead of its time, who knows.

i think you need to watch the movie again and pay a tad bit more attention as it seems you got a bit of stuff wrong, especially the plot. the villain was not created with the same powers, he would have been more comparable to cap then to hulk. but non the less, he became abomination out of his want to be as powerful(he did it to himself) which i feel a lot of people don't actually understand while watching, general ross did not make abomination he helped in a way but didn't actively do it, blonsky made abomination because he wanted to be the strongest and the best which he couldn't achieve without gaining hulks powers(that's why he had to get sterns to give him the blood in private) not hating at all on the video just wanted to throw this out there. context can change the way people see and enjoy a movie.

"In many ways this is the closest thing to an MCU solo Hulk adventure that we're going to get." What? Sometimes these videos are really well done and others I feel like you're just recalling things without doing any real research. That quote itself makes no sense. This is quite literally a solo Hulk adventure set in the MCU, It's been referenced multiple times and most of the cast are coming back to play the same characters in the next Captain America movie. So what the hell are you talking about? The bigger issue is that there's a very good chance Marvel does now have the rights to make a new Hulk solo film. You didn't even bother to mention who else owns the film rights and why. Is that not important information? It was Universal since when they first started they had no way to distribute the films so they signed a deal with Universal for Hulk and Paramount for Iron Man. I say was because it's been discovered that the Paramount deal was for 15 years and that's most likely the same deal they had with Universal. Since 'Incredible Hulk' came out in June of 2008 the deal that Universal has over distributing solo Hulk films has potentially expired if it indeed had the 15 year timeframe. Which means there's a very good chance the rights have now reverted to Marvel and they are able to make solo Hulk films without going through Universal.

Yeah, I'll admit, I was disappointed in this movie. I loved Iron Man, I thought it was a damn good start for the MCU movies, but this 2nd one, it's not terrible, but I had to give it a 5.8/10, because I really didn't like this movie, I didn't hate this movie, but I really disliked it. I did like the concept of the misunderstanding of the creature and the army men, it's definitely one of the weak movies in the MCU.

I hate how much we are blowing out of proportion how "unpopular" the characters that the early mcu entries were centered around were... it's a fun narrative but is extremely exaggerated to make the narrative of them being hail-marry, gambles by the studios more compelling. Sure Iron man wasn't as big as Wolverine, Batman, wonder woman, superman Spiderman...but he was like the next tier of recognition, a B+ guy that while your mom didn't know his actual name was Tony stark, and couldn't identify his villains, she could at least say "hey, that's iron man!" If you asked her. Furthermore, Hollywood had been trying to get iron man made for a decade prior because he was a logical choice for the more grounded action movie scene at the time. Captain America was extremely famous and recognizable but failed to get traction in film not because he was obscure, but because he was Seen as difficult to adapt in a non-corny way. And hulk? I'm not sure where this video is coming from implying hulk wasn't very big at the time... Hulk was HUGE even at that time! Like up in the God tier with spiderman and the DC trinity, in terms of mainstream popularity! Even if iron man flopped, they would always have tried to make more hulk films, hell, they had made to hulk films before this one! The biggest gamble of the early mcu was probably Thor, but even he was was probably more popular going into the film than we give him credit for today. It was a gamble to make most of these... but not nearly as big a one that it's made out to be.
