- In this workshop we will focus on color! I will give you a brief explanation of color and teach you how I like to test out different paint colors and combinations to make my own. This is a basic breakdown and tutorial on colors, I hope you enjoy the workshop!

Love your videos. I started watching you and I’m hooked. I try hard to make things look as good as you do but I’m still got a long way to go. I love Dixie bell paint. I love their colors.
I’m so grateful that you are covering these basics (or FUNdamentals). I’ve sewed anything and everything for decades, but this new passionate interest in furniture chalk painting is brand new. I've figured out what I like so much about your workshops. 1. They're short & sweet but packed with information. 2. You practice KISS.. Keep It Simple Stupid. 3. The molding you use to demonstrate on is perfect for showing clearly what you're teaching. 4. You don't use technical terms but keep it easy. The end result is.. you have fantastic teaching skills!

Love this! I definitely agree black and white are very important colors. I lighten and darken my paints all the time and it’s very helpful if you don’t have a lot of colors to work with.

I painted a buffet, did one drawer to see if I liked the colours and blending. Of course did I remember to measure? No now I every time I see it I’m reminded. 🤣
I find color mixing so fascinating, particularly how colors lean to warm or cool. I recently read an article on how even our neutrals are very complex, particularly grays, with them having so many different undertone possibilities (brown, blue, purple and even yellow). Many times I add white to a dark color just so I can see what the undertone is. It helps me better understand and predict the color results I will get when blending. Great video!
I love this workshop! I always mix Dixie Belles mud puddle, tea rose and aubergine. It makes a beautiful Mauve.

I always forget to order/buy white and black paint. But those are the ones I run out of the most because I do like to mix! Measuring is something I do need to start doing. Thanks @Kacha !

Very helpful. I want to do my kitchen cabinets with Dixie Belle and create an aqua. A lot of the aquas are too strong but then some look too grey. Now you have me thinking about using Dixie Belle Pure Ocean with a white. Thanks Kacha!

I just did my first accidental blend with Daisy and Farmhoise Green and it became this beautiful shade, perfect for the piece I was working on (baby changing table) and now I can't wait to try more blending. Thank you for this video! Love learning and growing in this craft from you.

I did not have those exact colors, but I did use your technique and advice on how to mix colors. It was fun and although, I am not so great at it. I trust the process and will continue practicing. Great video!

Primary color, secondary color etc, and the type of light to use in the room where you have your piece. I think that is going to help you a lot.

Let me ask you, you’re so amazing at all of this... I’m pretty crafty & I’m a sucker for a quality product. So, with all that being said.. 😂 do you personally prefer how Dixie belle products perform over the Jolie paints you reviewed in the white “smooth finish” dresser (or a console, whatever it was) you did a while back? I loved how that piece came out, it inspired me so much & it, of course, made me want to try the products.
