  • This is a two-minute clip from my ebook Bob Geldof: The Joe Jackson Interviews plus. The 2001 interview was the most soul searching and honesty he did at the time.

So clear about what he went through, from the split with Paula.

I don't know I can't make up my mind about him. He seems very reflective obviously still loved her.

Its hard to live with a humorless melancholic partner. I had one years ago and he was never happy. His only form of humor was sarcasm and putting other people down. We went to the movies numerous times and after 10-15 minutes he would not like the movie and we'd have to leave then and there. He did the same at bars and clubs where I was having a ball watching the bands and dancing by myself - he wouldn't dance. Even one night when I won a hundred dollar bar tab but never got to have any of the drinks because he wasn't enjoying himself so we had to leave. He couldn't bear to see me having fun and would have to ruin my night one way or another. He was a joyless prick and I began to dread going out with him. He hated me talking to anyone at parties of HIS friends or laughing at their jokes and knew how to nip any fun in the bud. He was a miserable prick. I was glad when it was over.

That’s a brutally honest post. We all know the type. Just don’t understand why they target their complete opposite only to drag that person down. It’s so sad to see this process while their victim thinks they can change the miserable prick. Only to eventually give up and need years to regain their positive perspective. Leave them to their sullen selves.

Poor Bob you could see hoe happy he was with her and how cute they were and she loved him back in the day I mean I cannot blame her for falling for Michael and I cannot blame him for taking her away from Bob and I do not blame Bob for being destroyed both by her leaving them by her death and I do not blame Bob for Michael dying or blame her for him dying and I do not blame Paula or Bob for Paula dying I have beengrief stricken you ned to find some one to blame because it hurts solo bad and you want to understand why nor do I believe Michal committed intentional suicide so there is no reason to blame Bob i did before I knew him blame him for the fight and Michael being upset but now there is no way he would know Michael would get that distraught I blame alcohol and other things for Hutchence dying that night he was not himself nor do i think it was erotic accident thats too weird I think he was distraught did something inmomentarily angry and distraught split second and he could not take it back had he been clear headed and sober that night he might be here today so would Paul hers I think was she had been clean for a period of time nad when she took that dose her body could no longer take it plus her friends also said she was not a regular user and neither was Peaches thats just what i read and if she was not used to the dosage when she did it then its easy to overdose no way would she do that with her daughter in the home nor would Peaches with her sons thats my opinion andwhat my heart says about all of them
