@@MTBFichtelhills Thanks. On the Fox website & all other places I've looked, only the Factory 180mm is available in 37, 170 being 44mm. I'll try to contact Fox to ask why this is.
@@MTBFichtelhills Ahh, that explains it. I assumed it was the 38. I spoke to the UK importer & it appears that Fox don't sell the 38 in 170mm travel with 37 degree offset - Bizarre, as that is what is on their bikes. The bikes must have special OEM forks. The other option for you could have been the Fox 38 180mm with 37 offset with a 170mm airshaft.
@@45graham45 yes that is strange you can buy only a 160mm Fox36 or 180mm Fox38. Only oem forks with a special setup has 170mm forks. The only way is another Airshaft

@mtb fichtelhills: Hattest du vorher zufällig das V4? würde interessieren wie sich die neue Geometrie auf aufs Handling auswirkt da das V5 ja schon ein wenig länger geworden ist. sollte man mit ca. 180cm noch immer zu L greifen oder eher schon zu M wechseln?
Richtig ich hatte das V4 auch schon aber nicht lange. Ich habe mich auf dem V4 in L wohl gefühlt aber auch aktuell fühle ich mich auf dem V5 sehr wohl was die Sitzposition angeht. Das V5 ist m.M.n. laufruhiger wenn man flott unterwegs ist. Lediglich im Uphill finde ich das V5 als sehr träge. Es ist auch rund 1kg schwerer als mein V4 mit vergleichbarer Ausstattung.

AFAIK that fork has 44 degree offset. The SC website specifies a 37 degree offset fork. How does that affect handling?

what wheel truing set up is that? with a pressure gauge it looked like, my biggest hold up with bike building is that part yet to learn
I don‘t know sorry. that short clip about the wheelset comes from the company who made this wheels for me. I want also to learn wheel building 😜

@@MTBFichtelhills und wie siehts mit der Größe aus? Bin am überlegen ob ich mir ein V5 in M hole(179cm bei V4 Large -- rahmen beschädigt)
Why no Fox 38?
Because the drivers weight is only 75kg and he don't need a stronger fork like the 38.
Where do you get you're drivetrain parts, finding it impossible to get now.
I get all parts from many shops in Europe and friends. I know most of the parts are not available at the time 😞
