I have the honor of sharing this awesome perspective on prospecting. Someone I consider a Brother wanted me to share this for him. After reading, I concluded it’s a MUST READ if you’re on the fence about prospecting. It doesn’t get any better!
    PROSPECTING -
I’ve discussed prospecting with several people outside of the club life, or in a riding club situation. A common theme I’ve heard is “there’s no way I could prospect and be somebody’s bitch. Im a man, and I could never belittle myself in that manner!” Sadly, these people do not understand what Prospecting really means. I can assure you that I do not want a “Yes man”, a “bitch”, a “slave”, etc to join my Club!
These people fail to understand the true meaning of Prospecting. Being a prospect does not mean bowing down to other men! It does not mean that you are a slave for the Club! It does not mean that you belittle yourself in an effort to gain approval from Patched members of any Club. Prospecting shows that you are capable of putting other’s needs in front of your own! It means that you are a big enough man to understand that your are trying to be a part of an organization that is larger than yourself, and you are able to humble yourself enough to put the needs of the Club before your own needs! It means that you are capable of humbling yourself, and serving the best interests of the Club you are trying to join. If you are incapable of putting the needs of your Brothers/Club ahead of your own, then you have no business pursuing a life in any Club!
You see, too many men fall into the “alpha male” mentality and don’t understand that being a humble servant to your Brothers is the truest measure of manhood! You see, the fact that you are incapable of putting others needs in front of your own is the litmus test that shows whether you could be a true Brother to the men surrounding you! Our Clubs do not need people who are too “manly” to prospect. The fact that you cannot find it in your heart to serve others, shows your selfishness and inability to form the bonds of Brotherhood required to keep any Club healthy and prosperous. You’re “alpha male” mentality does not impress me!
You’re ability to serve your Brothers, and humble yourself speaks VOLUMES to the type of man you really are. Somehow, being “too good” to prospect is seen as a sign of machismo. In reality, it’s a sign that you really do not fit in this lifestyle and you have no business trying to be a part of my Club or anyone else’s.
Take your bullshit pride somewhere else. I choose to surround myself with men that choose to put the needs of the Club above their own. Take your pride and ego somewhere else. But on the same note, I make sure to tell every prospect or hangaround that I come across, that they are a man first. And if they’ve allow themselves to be treated badly, demeaned, or even if they adjust their behaviors or personality to fit in, then I have no use for them. I need Brothers that will stand tall beside me, not cower down behind me.

I don't understand why these men don't see they are there for the Club to get to know them. They are trying out to be a new member of a tight family. We want Brothers, and that isn't a casual, short simple thing.
Being a retired military man the parts you mentioned about putting others in front of yourself I just did. Never articulated it this way because I just knew this subconsciously. This one goes into the knowledge bank for new guys. Thank you. I am a Proud Boy who rides, but there are things that carry over from this world to ours.

I've never prospected. All the things laid out in the video actually comes easy for me. It always has. I don't know that prospecting every would. I wonder if some of the old founders could have.. would have in today's times. I've heard you'll be called in the middle of the night to get a six pack of beer for someone. I'm not that guy. My two picks would be the guy who gets wasted at every single event then causes problems and other club members have to fix it and cool things down. Or the guy who is only a tough guy when his club members are around, starts fights with non-bikers and other clubs members but is magically never around when shit goes down for real. I agree 110% with your point about not letting the club define you. I've seen a lot of people that lean on the patch for respect instead of earning their respect as an individual. Be yourself from the first day you hangaround to your last breath. If you're a good fit for the club, you'll get in. If you're not, then that wasn't the right club/life for you. Don't force yourself to act like someone you aren't, just to gain acceptance. You can only fake it for so long and when people find out you were faking it they will lose ALL respect they had for you.

One of the worst ones I've seen is the member who name drops (especially names of those wearing a Diamond). You don't show up at events or parties or rides and start saying I know _________ or ________ said this about that. That is a outstanding way to not only get yourself trouble but also your clubs officers. I've seen many guys get touched up real quick for saying the names of or what you saw them doing of Diamond patch holders they dont have a personal relationship with just to sound cool in front of others...........Maybe it's different now, but the years I was invested......Dangerous game.

He decided that the MC club was too much about politics, so he got out. On the flipside, one of my old bosses was the best biker I've ever met. He had such a deep knowledge about MC culture, his restaurant hosted a lot of RC's, Christian MC's and a smaller 1% crew from the area. He was a great employer and he actually got me in contact with the MSF course I took to get my endorsement.

It all got sorted out with the Ole Lady and the big 86 happens to him but a true brother never does any of that shit. Brotherhood mean having your brothers back no matter the situation. I am part of an LEMC and of course because of my background that's about all I can mostly join.
Just about everything on your list fits my LEMC.
I would love to be part of a club that rides regularly. I average between 20-25K miles a year. The next closest member in my club is around 5k. I ended up starting a Facebook page just so I can have people to ride with which sucks cause I joined my LEMC to ride. I even ran for and won a position in the club just so I can push people to get out there and ride, didn't work. I'll never regret my life decision for my career but it does really suck that the clubs that ride like I want to want nothing to do with me.

Back in the old country I was member of the predominant 1%er club local to the country. Illegal substances trade in night clubs was largely controlled by bouncers of a different ethnicity, and some chapters decided to patch them in to gain access to the market, most of them without having any bikes, which pissed off a lot of people. The same chapters made a power play for national leadership and then pushed to patch over to a international 1% club, and as a result 50% of the OGs dropped out. What a clusterfck.

Dead on about the politician...toxic AF, bad juju. I live near Sturgis, I see so many trailers with bikes. Semi trailers full of bikes getting picked up at the airport. I can understand it better if the trailer is behind an RV because $300-500 a night at a hotel during the rally is ignorant, but those guys pulling a trailer behind cars and trucks is just ridiculous. Why would you even want to be in a club if you don't ride? If you wrecked it or the engine blew up and it takes some time to get the money up to replace/fix it is one thing but if you don't have one and don't intend to get one yesterday, kick rocks.

We were fortunate enough to have older firehouse brothers (who had been bikers for some time) teach us how to ride and hangout with other bikers, groups and rallies. My best memory was the first time I rode to the wall in DC. I can't remember how many bikers were there in total, but I do remember how awesome the ride down RT 50 into DC. While enroute, when I looked in my rearview mirror, I could see nothing but bikes taking up all lanes for what looked like over a mile. By this time we had already been on several group rides with the local HOG and Red Knights. It was mostly on those rides that I saw people failing and refusing to ask for help. One new rider, I remember, fell flat over in a standing position with her feet on the ground. To be clear, this is just an example, not a criticism. What struck me about this situation, is that when we started to help her up, she said she wasn’t sure what to do. Again, to me that’s not a problem, however most of us were fairly new, most of us had accidents here and there, and most of us always asked for advice and help in advance if possible. That was the part that I found strange. None of us saw any shame in what we were doing, no one criticized us and by nature as FireFighter we are encouraged to ask for help. So I just felt bad and being her equal, I tried to reassure her to always ask for help.
So here’s the real problem. If you’re not asking for help or training and you’re resilient to new ideas, eventually, you become a liability to the rest of the group. Always distracting and sewing agitation. This ruins it for everyone.

Awesome video Sose.. you nailed it totally, especially about OT vs OG. this not only applies in MC's but in life in general, I have worked in the same industry for over 30 yrs. and I've see way too much death and destruction in those yrs., many guys in my Industry talk a good game but don't have the knowledge or balls to put their money where their mouth is, for the record I'm a Locomotive engineer so when the young generation comes and asks questions and they get crap answers from OTs that don't know shit it pisses me off, because in my industry when you screw up, there's a really good chance you don't go home. As for the rest of your points and as someone who's life has always been based on the basic fundamental principals of MLLH&R. If this fucked up world we live in went back to more traditional belief's like you talked about in some of your other videos like Alpha, Beta type males and parents taught the basics like honor and respect to their kids, maybe, just maybe this world would be a much better place. Thanks, Brother, for this thing that you do. MLLH&R

Worst member is that dude who is only in the club to hook up with the ladies. He thinks he is a stud, and tries to get in the female members pants all the time. That Female is supposed to be your Sister! Not caring about the Club, but figuring he can sleep with the ladies or try to hookup with them constantly. I used to see that crap all the time when I was an Ruff Ryder. Used to call dudes out all the time. Even pulled a Vest while at an event in Chicago due to an altercation between a male and female member. Dude was all up on the female, who clearly wasn't interested. He figured just cause he was an Officer, he could do what he wanted. But, too bad for him, I was a higher rank and stripped his shit right off his back and told his ass to go home. He wasn't welcome there anymore.

The only reason I could think it could be possible to be part of a club with no bike is if you had one when you got in and you're between bikes. Maybe you sold it and you're waiting to get more loot for an upgrade. But never owning one and being part of the club...let alone a board member.....FOH.

👋As a lady rider I have always had trouble back in the day - It was especially harder when I started riding my first HD - since I am in my 40s let’s just leave it at I started really riding about 20 some years ago. I have always been challenged when I have been riding by guys because I get it - it’s usually is a man’s world. But - just b cool to ladies out there that ride pls - no peacocking nec. Lady riders don’t wanna take anything away from any MC - if they were brought up right - they get their place & there’s nothing wrong w/ that imho - actually I’m old school & I am cool w/ MC culture - Always have been💯
I remember when a club member wanted to race me and I said sure because I had been known to be able to win. Well - this night said Brother - well… he wanted to win so bad he cheated = he reached over and shut off my gas while we were in the middle of freakin taking off for racing 🤷‍♀️🙄😜so that I had to reach back down and put it on again - I guess if that’s how you wanna win…
I always take pride and being truthful and honest. Another time the same club I went to one of their parties at their clubhouse and they made me ride my bike over a small piece of wood like a 2 x 4 type of thing that was over a ditch like a mini bridge for people not bikes😂
So, long story short too long already, to get my bike in the backyard to the party I freaked em all out by doing it & daring others to follow me!! Lmao - U shoulda seen their faces = MF Priceless🤩😛💪😍🤩
Btw = it turns out there was no one else who went over that that way / they were just messing w/ me cuz I was a gal - imagine that 🧐🤨😆 Anyways… they all went around another way - I guess they just wanted to see if I would really do it if I had the balls to do it and I did. ✔️🙌✔️
I don’t know why some guys like to give girls such a hard time that ride. But it’s gotten better in the past 10 years thank God. I used to be a Prez of a woman’s MC and I was always respectful to other clubs. I just hated we always had to prove our worth as La riders. I always did I was actually able to help out newbies and the community as well to get their confidence built up re group rides and so forth…
Imho - the MC Community is such a small community and we all do so much to try to make a difference. Bikers r some of the best people I’ve ever met in my entire life - Real Brothers & Sisters = the ones that understand the code ✔️👍😍 Those are the ones that I roll with… I just wish that people would stop villainizing bikers and give them the proper respect that they deserve.
To be honest most bikers have money - they couldn’t afford a HD if not successful or driven to have that expensive of a machine! Many of them r even freakin doctors, lawyers entrepreneurs, business owners, hell - there’s even many grandma & grandpas / mom’s & dad’s etc. I’m over the stereotype! Bikers R Good People and we need to get home to our families too!!
I wish that people would look at the road instead of the Effin phones! I lost my old man due to a bike accident many years ago, at least he went out doing what he loved! I will never stop riding - I may need a trike soon after my 10 damn surgeries - but… Can’t Stop - Won’t Stop! Docs gave me less than 50% chance of making it - let’s just say having your last rights read to you will put your life and focus real quick. Like I always say I will take a bullet for damn near anyone, but I won’t take BS from anyone. My other favorite thing as every day is a gift that is why it’s called “present” We MUST Do Better = We MUST!
I have such a love for motorcycles. Some people were shocked after he passed that I still wanted to ride, but once you’ve been bitten by the bug = you can’t stop 💯✔️🤌💯✔️ it’s just something in you as basic as breathing. When I ride - the saddle is my happy place - especially in these crazy times. 🥰🏍💨
Hey Y’all - Seriously… Guys especially / But Wind Sisters too - help ea other out Pls help out the ladies out there - Cuz, they are not all as strong as I am 😉 It’s already a big accomplishment to go 2up / let’s freakin encourage ea other & Build UP our community 💪🏍💪
I know I was mentored & I was raised around 2 wheels - we all started somewhere with somebody who believed in us - just pls try to be that person - let’s b UNDENIABLE & let’s get these our communities back! Much L&R~Enough is Enough💯M/Spazz💪😎🏍💨✌️

    Okay, I got one:
Long story short, over decade ago when I first got interested in MCs, I was approached by a club who didn't even know me and was trying to talk me into prospecting right out of the gate. This was before I even knew that being a hangaround was even an option and the fact that they were so aggressive about their approach made it seem like I had to make a decision right then and there. I had to make up an excuse on the fly just so I could leave and I left the event I was at entirely and did what I could to avoid them because there was something that raised the hackles on my neck up about the whole scenario. Fast forward two years, that club had been totally disbanded. The club was a 99, and from the bits and pieces that I was able to discover, even though it was a club, that specific club was too cliqueish and alot of the members were self-seeking and that club destroyed itself through politicking, treachery, and toxic leadership. #Ghostin

I told him I liked it because I could tell it was a biker bar and reminded me of one of my favorite spots back home. He then thought I was lying when I said I grew up going to bars frequented by mcs like mongols, bandidos, boozefighters, cabeleros, parados, this guy told me the boozefighters started in the bar we were at...... in midland texas, I just acted like I didnt know that and was surprised, he then said he use to ride alot before surgery and was with this club and joined this diamond club. WTF? I dont care to ride in packs anymore. I'm 65 and I started riding in Jr. High school early 70's, bought my first Harley in 79. Life should never evolve around a MC. I ran into the quitesential harley owner at the rally the other weekend up here in Alaska, dude had harley EVERYTHING on and talked nothin but harley and how theres nothing better...then he noticed my vrod and started talkin shit about how it aint a "real" harley. So me being a gearhead, weldor and fabricator I started asking him BASIC engine questions about cubic inch, primarys, belt vs chain drive, fuel efficiency, tq and hp figures, reaction times etc etc. My older buddy Danny was howling with laughter at this chodes responses and we soon garnered a crowd and I proceeded to make this dude show everybody how dumb and narrow minded he was. Eventually he stalked off somewhere and we all continued to have a good time.

I used to LOVE being at my Uncles place. My uncles are Veterans. Instead of drinking, they rebuild engines and work on their choppers. We lived beside them. The neighbors disliked them because of the loud sounds from muscle cars and their choppers😂😎👍🏽.
My uncles before passing from cancers, used to tell me, "Baby, if every you leave home, the best friends to have are BIKERS. 30 yrs. later, they were right. I have been to a club house in my lifetime, about 3 times. BUT I HAD TO BE INVITED. The 3rd time I was there, a friend took me out of there. He is over 6'7, muscular, has long hair and beard. We just took a cruise into the canyon, and he just talked to me. I told him, "OK, I will not go there again even if I'm invited." I just stuck to Biker bars, where he is usually at.
He knew people from the club. He is an independent rider. Best Friend Ever😊😎👍🏽

A guy named "BN" from "MR", a support club president out of D, T talked real big about how he was affiliated with R & G. He talked trash and lies on his ex in one city, but played by the rules of respect in the local area. It caught up to him. His ex ended up later married to the president (S) of the main local chapter. There was not a single thing he could do or say against her or him at that point, but only show respect.
Unfortunately, the backstabbing cocksucker turned on his own family member when his friend committed a SA against her. He stood up for the friend and said the woman was "lying out of spite", when his female family member (the SA victim) is the one who introduced them in the first place (no longstanding relationship outside of her). She went ballistic at that point and told everybody she knew and even attempted S because of his betrayal. He turned everyone under his influence in the family against the victim. She decided if he wanted to be friends with her ex who SA'd her, that befriending exes was then fair game. Last I heard, he was no longer involved at all with R&G and the family member still doesn't speak to him. R&G nearly washed the friend (SA perp) anyway for talking shit at a R&G event.
