I've never used compound clips but I intend to use some of your tips to improve the workflow of a project I'm currently working on. Thank you so much for sharing, great advice!
Serge, thank you so much for this! I had been editing all of A-roll, then when my entire video was done, applying my lav mic EQ preset to each A-roll clip. You’re telling me I can make my A-roll a compound clip, then cut it up, then apply my EQ to one clip and it will apply to all. Game changer!
Aloha from Yokohama, Japan! Another super helpful video Serge! I've been subbed since your video on mastering audio several years ago. That video has helped my channel so much, along with all your other great content! Thank you so much😊 All the best in 2024!
Nice! I especially like the making of a compound clip before editing the video. All too often, I want to go back and apply an effect to the entire video, but have to go through the arduous process of applying it to each individual clip. Super awesome my friend. And speeding up and slowing down the animation of title clips is super useful as well. Happy New Year my friend. Keep making those great videos. All the very best, Cheers Rick
Serge! Your the best! I did not know how badly I needed compound clips in my life! I try to learn a new FCPx feature every week and your videos have been so helpful! 😀
Happy New Year Serge!!! As always this was great!!! I love your clear and fun tutorials!!! I have learned soo much from you already! Thank you again! YOU ARE THE BEST!! 💯💻🎥💜
OMG SERGE , this is truly a great tutorial and I learned so many new things and remember others ! Perfect timing as well as I have a multiple layered 20min edit that will benefit from making compounded clips , thanks a ton !! Great stuff and happy 2024 😊
This is another one of your really helpful videos and as I am now editing my video, very relevant. But here is my question. If you have a clip that has been cut up, let's say into five parts and in between those five pieces you have parts from another clip, can you make a compound clip of just those five? I tried it and the in between clips came up as black clips so I undid that compound. I realize now that I should have done adjustments before cutting up the clips but now it's too late. Seems to me I will have to adjust one clip than copy and paste those adjustments to the other clips, correct? Thanks for your wonderful videos, Bob.

Absolute brilliant, wasn't working with compound clips before, but this introduction is an eye opener. Thanks a lot, Serge !

wasn't clear how you apply transform to just one clip vs the whole compound clip
Compound Clips are great, however I always notice that I have to render inside compound clips. Is this required prior to exporting the video?
