So this is where we’re headed. Throttle pedal mapping is the point of difference between one vehicle powered by bags of wet chemicals, with another powered by the same bag of wet chemicals. Oh well, at least we can all remember when, as enthusiasts, our choice of car was based on the type of engine, its sound, its performance characteristics and its heritage. Porsche selling the petrol version alongside this thing is a smart move.
I believe the ICE versions are discontinued in the EU due to Porsche not feeling they would be able to (or want to spend the money on) meeting new regulations. Those regs will be coming to the UK in the next couple of years ? So a practicality thing rather than a lack of confidence in the platform thing. Meanwhile the Porsche and Piech families have taken huge annual dividends from VW for years, the Northvolt factory has gone bust and VW have just agreed to lay of 35k workers between now and 2030. Enjoy your money Wolfgang.
Exactly. This kind of branding is totally redundant on an EV. Even the current ICE cars (911 at least...) are pretty much all Turbos these days and only some are badged as such. It's absolutely ridiculous...
What a disgrace. I’m definitely keeping my ‘22 GTS petrol. They ruined the looks, especially that rear end that reminds me of a Prius. Also, it’s heavier than previous gen and not to mention of a EV resale value. Easy pass.
When Porsche décides to prodige thé new Macan only as EV at that Time it was thé perfection solutions now some yearling later entité environment changed fzcing thé reality.
To say that exclusive high performance 911s wouldn't happen without the SUVs is total lies. They'd still exist but be slightly more expensive. The SUVs are a result of corporate greed for increased profits, nothing more.
Porsche was literally headed for bankruptcy before the Cheyenne and Macan made the company profitable again. You may not like that history but that doesn’t make it “total lies.”
@@OptimumSlinky actually it does. The SUVs were introduced in 2002 when the company announced a new profit stream. Bankruptcy was never a reality, but the lie was used to justify the new Cayenne. The then CEO (or CFO, I forget which) was later prosecuted for fraud.
Which car gets your vote - petrol Macan or Macan Electric?
Petrol.Always
Ice 😊
Shame they are not doing the new styling on the petrol, love the looks, would have to have 🧊 tho
Petrol 💯 %

Great looking car. Makes the ICE Macan look old and outdated.
I agree. Seems there are some Macan EV haters🤔 I have a 2019 Macan GTS and gonna get the Macan EV 4S very soon
Bored after 3 minutes. Not the presenter but the car. Porsche has lost their way in the rush to increase margins.
You misspelled downfall.
Might be, but they do not have a choice. By 2035 no diesel and petrol car can be sold in europe.
Porsche is primarily an SUV manufacturer…that just happens to produce a few sports cars on the side.
Nobody uses EV in the title because they know Nobody is interested in looking at it 😂
Nobody except cornballs like you.
Hmm..interesting. I look at every Macan or Taycan video I see here
I find EV reviews very boring

The old one's gonna live and live and live...
Has Porsche taken a huge risk with the electric Macan?
Roll on more littered EV Taycans/Macan on the 2nd hand market....
Rumours say Porsche has a plan b. Apparently it is possible to fit an ICE engine in this skateboard chassis. Dont ask how, it is just a rumour
These cars are very expensive to maintain once they get old.

Zero interest in watching another EV shitbox 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hmm is always the same story an Audi rebranded. To keep cost down and earn money.

Get a Tesla model y. Save $45 k.
Really annoyed when you how to pronounce the name correctly but 99% people don't know 😅
How you guys say it is mean eat (makan). 😂

BYD with a Porsche badge on it.
Nonsense.
