  • @JoolsTurrall
    @JoolsTurrall 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow, bit late to see this but it ranks with the most interesting mtb experiment I've seen on here. The first few runs looked really fast and on the edge, but following Danny I think made you push it, and then it showed sections where you had to hold back a little or just keep the bike in check, and that's where Danny kept inching ahead. Once you lost Danny you had no tow or target so you settled into your rythm. I don't think you mentioned if Danny was timed, but I bet the offset was no bigger than would have been on a race day. Impressive riding to push a trail bike like that but it really does show that it's the rider and not the bike that makes things possible. Clearly a great bike but clearly and a greater rider. Top bananas. 🍌

    You guys could do a series of different trail bikes (new or older) that have lower travel numbers, once or twice a month.
    Probably it comes down to risk vs potential reward.
    What are the limits of different bikes with only 120-130 in the back? What can "quiver killers" really do? Where would riders of your level reasonably (yes that's relative to you) take some of these bikes? It could be eye-opening for a lot of people.

    I’d love to see you dip your toe back in for a couple dh races next season. I honestly think that without the pressure you could get some real fast times in . that was an impressive run . and you seem to only lose time on danny when it started to get rough . and that’s what I’d expect from a dh bike .

      Yeah man, i mean maybe in the future. Pretty stoked on the Enduro riding etc at the moment! Not been on a dh bike in 5 years haha

    Crazy Skill and speed ! But I think the last run was the fastest as you were trying the hardest to keep up with Danny who was obviously on a DH bike .

    Wow!
    Regular riders buying 160/170mm enduro bike thinking they need it for the trails they ride (me included) when this shows it’s just as much to make up for the fact we don’t have your skills. I know my Mega has saved my ass.
    Keep it up. Good luck.

    Crazy to see the mullet being consistently faster. Do you have a feel for whether that's in the corners or the straights? I was just thinking I bet the slightly lighter rear wheel and less unsprung weight helps the suspension move easier, but I also am not a bike engineer so may be totally off on that thought.

    • @LewisBuchanan
      @LewisBuchanan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it boggles my mind as well haha. I feel for me that it excels in the corners, switchbacks, and I can set up better and quicker/more easily for lines. 🙏🏼

    Holy smokes. I have to admit that I was quite skeptical when you said that you are riding for forbidden since the bike doesn't have a huge amount of travel, but damn you are fast on that thing😂
