Very nice! I’ve got an 04 myself and my dad always taught me to almost fall into the kick and sit down each time. A little hard to put into words. It helped me out a lot
I have a 1991 Baja version. I was hoping to see this start at once, but alas, same story. If it started like other bikes, it would be a god among motorcycles
Give this guy a hand, he can start a motorcycle yeah!!! Didn’t say nothing about turning on the gas, using the choke, compression release, top dead center, etc
That is kinda hot watching you fire that 250 up. I so would just hop on that thumping beast after you kickstart it and sit on it while it’s warming up…. Take it for a proper rip!
I have same bike and now I am getting a bit older starting it is a pain, once its been running its all good. Haven't ridden it for a year now so thinking of getting carb overhauled and having another crack on it this summer, if it's still a pain to start for me I guess I will sell it. Actually mine is 2004.
Thanks for the reply, Last time I had trouble starting it I drained fuel, changed plug, cleaned filter still hard to start, then I blew into the breather hose on tank and whammy no problem! Cheers @@dynamitecreekvet
I tried to start my 2004 today and nope, didn’t start…what a pain… it’s never been ridden and is like brand new but I like to start it every Labor Day weekend…
This was 5 days into Covid for me. The first legit strain. Was trying to find stuff to do around the house once my fever broke. Thanks everyone, still have the bike. We haven't ridden it much because of newer 300 bikes etc., but my son did give it a decent workout about a year ago. He was faster than me on it (which ain't saying much) th-cam.com/video/h-ZkKXm44W4/w-d-xo.html

They’re a real treat! Great once they’re warmed up, not a lot of fun to cold start!

Yeah, still great little bikes. I use race gas (no ethanol) and let the carb bowl run empty of gas if I know its going to be sitting for awhile.

Your kicking method is all wrong. Nice bike anyway
