@@damondominique There's loadsss of film festivals out there and independent cinemas. Set up a pateron for the series and film it yourself! Then première your shows at all these festivals and cinemas. Depending on the cinema, they will pay you for it. Theres loads in paris I'm sure

This was conflicting to watch. The US tv industry really is on it's knees right now and is constantly outsourcing to production companies from other countries to make their money run further. I'd suggest networking with production companies outside of the US, preferably a company under an umbrella of international distribution. The show will then be pitched out to US networks as well as other territories while its funding will be from another country e.g. England.

I just have to say that sooooooo many TH-camrs really polish their content and make it seem like their TH-cam lives are so fabulous or try to make up some fake TH-cam drama, but I love that you not only show us the behind the scenes of this book tour but also showcase your frustrations regarding the process and how your goal of a TV show didn’t work out. Just makes you so relatable and sets you apart from the others. With all that said you still make the content entertaining! Love your channel!
There are zero good travel shows being made on mainstream platforms right now. the only decent ones you can find are on youtube (and those are vlogs, not shows). the big wigs are obviously doing everything wrong, but ~big surprise~ they don’t listen to what ACTUAL travelers want! they appeal to people who are still using travel agents to book their all inclusive vacays, or are looking for a cool subjective airbnb to go sit in for a weekend. it’s exhausting. I know you’ll get your show, and I’ll be waiting patiently to watch!

Damon coming from experience you are 100% correct. It's very odd #1. you weren't in any pitches and #2 you don't have a relationship with whomever is pitching. I don't know who your agent is but your situation as you described is not typical.
Have you thought about French TV producing your show ? For example, there is this super show I have been watching for years "J'irai dormir chez vous" which is a PURE travel show, produced in France. Maybe an option to follow. I don't know
I think you and I are very similar. Let this just be a testiment to your fierce work ethic and capacity for vision. This video was a reminder to myself that Im making a good decision self-publishing rather than trad pub. So many successful authors I've talked to have been much more successful and happy once they went self-pub.

I feel your frustration. All the no's, delays and setbacks can feel like... well now what am I supposed to do. I do hope you don't give up on the travel show. Tell Netflix to suck it and maybe go for HBO/Max, Amazon Prime, or even Peacock (don't sleep on peacock lmao) they're really the more progressive options. Love your humor and how you really seem to be 100% you wherever you are in the world. Keep doing what you want to do, if that's a show amazing, if not. Good for you, saves you the headache. Moral of the story is keep creating things that you are proud of.

You already have been able to gain such a following, while also having shift focus. I think if you we’re very consistent with this channel and post as often as you can- you’d see it grow exponentially.
I think you need to pull a "Neistat Brothers" moment and make the show and sell it to a distributer. Then you have the show and are just trying to get someone to pay for it to be on their platform.
I'm living in London and trying to do business with people here is infuriating, they are so slow to do anything and emails may as well be fucking trash to them.

Im so happy for the launch of your new book, but you gotta give yourself some grace, you have come so far, from this being a simple idea to it being in its physical form, to holding a book signing in NYC & the virtual response you are getting. Also, if you are paying the distributor to post on Amazon, then most definitely be that person who constantly messages and asks for things to be done the way you want it to because thats part of the service you are paying for, dont feel bad! In my opinion, the development agents pitching you, low key sound like they are reading from a script and I get it, this is their job and they can only do so much with these networks that are their clients but really, I hope Netflix, MTV or Google even TH-cam see this and grant you this show - You are also right, let them come to you! The Soho House event was genius and also looked so nice! I hope this encourages you and your manager to continue to pitch directly to brands through experiences like this! I think you should also collab with other youtubers, Bretman Rock comes to mind given his mtv show & general brand I reckon you two would get along well but Im just assuming through internet vibes ahah I wish you all the best an im excited to continue watching your journey!

I'm in Melbourne and we had super intense lockdowns but through your videos, I felt like I was travelling and meeting new and wildly interesting people by proxy so thank you. You have validated my travelling wants and I'm moving to New Zealand to study abroad. I used to be near-fluent in Japanese due to studying it for 10 years and haven't in 5 years but I've recently gotten back into it thanks to you. I just have to say that sooooooo many TH-camrs really polish their content and make it seem like their TH-cam lives are so fabulous or try to make up some fake TH-cam drama, but I love that you not only show us the behind the scenes of this book tour but also showcase your frustrations regarding the process and how your goal of a TV show didn’t work out. There are zero good travel shows being made on mainstream platforms right now. the only decent ones you can find are on youtube (and those are vlogs, not shows). the big wigs are obviously doing everything wrong, but ~big surprise~ they don’t listen to what ACTUAL travelers want! they appeal to people who are still using travel agents to book their all inclusive vacays, or are looking for a cool subjective airbnb to go sit in for a weekend. it’s exhausting. I know you’ll get your show, and I’ll be waiting patiently to watch!

Damon coming from experience you are 100% correct. It's very odd #1. you weren't in any pitches and #2 you don't have a relationship with whomever is pitching. I don't know who your agent is but your situation as you described is not typical.
Have you thought about French TV producing your show ? For example, there is this super show I have been watching for years "J'irai dormir chez vous" which is a PURE travel show, produced in France. Maybe an option to follow. I don't know
I think you and I are very similar. Let this just be a testiment to your fierce work ethic and capacity for vision. This video was a reminder to myself that Im making a good decision self-publishing rather than trad pub. So many successful authors I've talked to have been much more successful and happy once they went self-pub.

I feel your frustration. All the no's, delays and setbacks can feel like... well now what am I supposed to do. I do hope you don't give up on the travel show. Tell Netflix to suck it and maybe go for HBO/Max, Amazon Prime, or even Peacock (don't sleep on peacock lmao) they're really the more progressive options.

Im so happy for the launch of your new book, but you gotta give yourself some grace, you have come so far, from this being a simple idea to it being in its physical form, to holding a book signing in NYC & the virtual response you are getting. Also, if you are paying the distributor to post on Amazon, then most definitely be that person who constantly messages and asks for things to be done the way you want it to because thats part of the service you are paying for, dont feel bad!
In my opinion, the development agents pitching you, low key sound like they are reading from a script and I get it, this is their job and they can only do so much with these networks that are their clients but really, I hope Netflix, MTV or Google even TH-cam see this and grant you this show - You are also right, let them come to you!

I'm in Melbourne and we had super intense lockdowns but through your videos, I felt like I was travelling and meeting new and wildly interesting people by proxy so thank you. You have validated my travelling wants and I'm moving to New Zealand to study abroad. I used to be near-fluent in Japanese due to studying it for 10 years and haven't in 5 years but I've recently gotten back into it thanks to you. Your online encouragement blocks out all the negative outside noise.
