LT is my new favorite TH-camr since I found his 8.1 ugly truck. I’m only 23, but I’m old school still rocking a k2500 from the year I was born, 1997. This is the stuff I remember my dad and brothers driving down here in rural NC. I love that the 90s flair is coming back.

Like a lot have said a chrome bed bar is more 80`s and 70`s, I found the 90`s thing to do was the Lund fiberglass cab extender which lights could be bolted to.

I had an 87 Chevy long bed. I did the same thing. I used the lights when I plowed snow at night. Loved it. Roll bar though does take up space. Got in the way a few times. Love the video!

Well back in 1980 I had me a 1978 K10 long bed with a 4" lift, 36x14.50x15 Pro Trac Hi-Rollers on 15x10" aluminum wagon wheels and a 3" welded roll bar with 4 6", 2 -250,000 CP & 2- 500,000 CP, KC Daylighters on it. That truck went through just about anything.

Don't give the thieves any ideas.
I run 15 inch white spoke rims because they match my boat and rv trailer but more importantly, less popular so don't have to worry too much about tire/wheel thieves.
As far as the "light bar", one of my friends had his stolen at work. This was in the late 70s. He saw two thieves walking down the street carrying it! Luckily he was able to chase them down and retrieve it. This was way before battery powered tools so they had to have used wrenches. I can't imagine how fast it could be removed with power tools today.

I like your idea. It brings back some fond memories of my life in the 80's. Speaking of the 80's, you would have impressed me if you had followed stylings of the Fall Guy's 1980 GMC 2500. That's the truck that set the tone for lifted trucks of the 80's.

In the start video the red Ford pick up looks just like mine. It's a 75 F100 .Bought it in 1980 for 3900. Lost it in a divorce and bought it back 5 years later. It sat in a pasture the whole time. I still have it would love to restore it but getting too old to do it. Interior still looks like new body has surface rust. The engine is a 390 and needs rebuilding. 3 on the column and 411 rear end with dana lock.

Yes the big roll bars in the bad are old school, but they can be made to be functional as well.
Ive seen then be used to act as tire carriers because the spare couldbt be mounted underneath the frame/bed anymore due to mods.
You can also put on locking cases for gear and tool without further modding your bed.
