    Absolutely no need to cut into the bumper or the metal fender for 33s. I’ve had several of these trucks with a leveling kit and 35s and have only ever had to trim the plastic valence bumper and plastic inner fenders (which this truck doesn’t have). Still have plenty of room. This truck could easily fit 33s with the factory torsion keys turned all the way up.

    • @Holgrinator
      @Holgrinator 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct. But cranking factory keys that high makes it ride harsh and you likely ran factory wheels with positive offset. I would also doubt you put a bump stop under your jounce bumpers to fill in the gap created.
      So you're correct. You don't "need" to cut the bumper or fender

    If you get the right offset for the rims you won't need to trim anything. Remember trimming is only if necessary. I just mounted up some 20s on 33s for the exact truck with stock ride height and they fit just fine. Only because the offset was correct.

    I was lucky enough to find an 05 sierra with only 60k. It’s been the garage baby of an older gent. That as you can imagine went berserk in an accessory shop and applied every available piece of plastic chrome you can imagine…. Even had some old skool pinstriping done… very well I might ad . But I want to minimize the “glitz” and update the stance. Btw… it IS only a 2nd… so I know I’ll get mixed reviews on “lifting “ it…. I really only wanna level it, and widen the stance… I don’t want a “monster truck” or anything…. Just a nice level stance that pushes the tires out enough to look “bad ass” . Lol. I will use this truck to haul my drums ( has a hard tonneau) surprise ( it’s not chrome… but it does match the truck ) ( fire engine red) …. I love the finished look of your truck … I don’t have or need 33’s I do have 17’s but I’m not sure of the width… they seem pretty wide just not “off road” tires. I don’t need em . The question is, will a leveling kit and spacers ( I know a lot of people hate em.) do the trick? Mechanically the truck is pristine…anything I should know or do? I will probably NOT be doing it myself… ( no specialty tools and would just feel more confident having a “pro” do it….
    Estimated labor cost? Spacers and levelers….?

Raptor lined the body with the factory gray color to avoid messing with jambs, 2-1/2” level on 33”s on 18”x9 procomp wheels, tuned 5.3, tuned trans, etc. going for a little older school look with 3 round PIAA lights on the prerunner bar and mild roof rack. Guessing somewhere in the 33x10.50 tire. Exhaust is a Flowmaster American Thunder

    Crazy to think a 01 Sierra is considered retro now

    I have the same truck 33'' BFG all terrains. I didn't have to buy the lift kit or cut the fenders neither did you.

    How much lift did on the front did you add? And are the tires 285 or 305s both can be considered 33s one Slightly less and the other more. I'm guessing 305 since you had to cut.

      Offset has a lot to do with it as well, I have 285/75s on stock wheels and I didn’t trim at all. And no rubbing.

    Bless your heart! I hate these trust fund kids with 100k truck with 28" rims wrapped with rubber bands! Go buy a 64 impala to ruin! I have an 06 F 150 with 35's on 15' and 4" lift. Had a 01 Ranger extra cab with 6" lift and 35's too. Neither truck rubbed.

    Only on GM trucks you got to cut them up to get bigger tires on

    Didn't Stacey David build a red Chevy about the same body style. On the Trucks tv show. Put a tan canvas top on it.
