SwampDonkey530 I hear you, I just love youtube and having the ability to search for whatever I'm in the mode to watch. I'd rather watch you-tube vids then TV.
Heith Gagnon Glad you liked it Gonzo, it's a quick simple set I used as a kid to catch weasels. Mom called herself "The Can Opener Queen" so I always had a good supply of cans. I would place cans out in the woods with bait in it and once a weasel hit the can I'd place a trap there. This way I never tied up my traps that I could be using on mink or muskrats until I knew I would get a weasel. 6 traps could handle 20 cans easily and once a weasel gets an easy meal he'll be back for more. I'd more my traps from active can to active can and it always produced kill catches for me.
Awesome idea, we don't have a lot of weasels where l am but l would like to catch a weasel for my bucket list. Going to put that to the test this winter, TY Ghost.
+JoboBlevins No I haven't basically because they are not legal to use here but it would definitely make for a good video for a survival tactic. I will put this idea in my bucket list of videos to do. Thanks for watching.
It is entertaining. Much like throwing rocks at a knot on a tree from 20 yards. I know I can nail it every time with a 22 cal but the rocks are much more fun. To me, the primitive ways are interesting and I'm glad to see the increasing online interest in this genre.
I’ve been able to catch over 20 squirrels in a live trap recently and another 4 or 5 with a connibear trap, but there are two left in my yard that have become very trap shy. Would this work for smart squirrels that have become very wary of metal objects and free food? They won’t go near peanut butter or pecans or sunflower seeds I leave even far from the traps!
What happens if they are coming out of the hole instead of going in and set the trap off with their front paw? You have a trap that's set off and an animal that will be trap shy. instead I'd use twigs to divert it to the trigger and have it step over the jaw.
hey this is a great video..... h.t.f farmboy recommended you on a video and i subbed as soon as i saw your channel. got some awesome videos and your videos are really interesting! keep up the good work and if you get a chance check me out..... i'm constantly looking for constructive criticism

Hey,guys, your video is good! Are you a trapper /hunter? Where you buy the traps?
I"m curious if you've experimented with wood conibears and a spring pole for the draw?
+JoboBlevins No I haven't basically because they are not legal to use here but it would definitely make for a good video for a survival tactic. I will put this idea in my bucket list of videos to do. Thanks for watching.
Thank you, I appreciate you considering making one for demonstration purposes.
I like figuring things out like this, nice way to pass time when you're in the woods waiting for a moose to respond to a call.

yes I feel the same way.

it might but I like the conibears I converted to pan traps. They work great
@ Do you have a video about that? I’m new to trapping and just trying to save my vegetable garden and fruit trees from the squirrels and rabbits.
Yes I have over 600 videos
pretty much got a video about everything outdoors
Great video! keep up the great work.
Thanks, will do!

Use a can or dig the hole, don't place this over an existing hole.
Looks like a awesome way!!!
rodney newbury it use to work good for me. This was my favourite weasel set when I started.

Wallace Vivian Hope it works for you, love to see the catch video.
back in the day our photographer and I use to trap with her father's traps but we didn't catch anything. No TH-cam back then eh.
I've been trapping for 46 years now... Started tailing dad and grandfather when I was 5...
@@NLGhostWolf omg 5!
Great...
+Sucka thanks for watching, I'm glad you liked it.
I wonder how humane the weasel was when it killed my 11 chickens
They are bad for the chickens, they don't stop at just one, they are programmed for killing. I hope you caught the bugger...
dam, leg holds are illegal in California, only cages and rat traps for fur trapping...good trap set tho
Thanks
COOL
Glad you liked it
THANKS
