Thank you for such an interesting and fun video. I have the Koi watercolor pocket field sketch box but I never thought of using the tray as a water holder! I thought it was just there to hold the waterbrush lol.
Good job! Your demo was very clear. I have one of these kits and I didn't know that I needed to wipe it down to get it to stick, or that the little area where the brush was is for water. Thanks a lot for showing this!
This is really cool. I'm actually learning to watercolour as a hobby (I plan to study illustration in college ^^ ) And there's a really nice art store in the city, which we plan to visit soon, so I'm totally getting the portable KOI kit!
Thanks for this great video.. Loved how you used the different types of pens as well I learned a lot.. Thanks for the template of the leaves and I am off to practice.. Sandy :)
I plan on buying the 24 pan set. Anyways I was wondering what size does the water-brush come with? I'm guessing it's medium or large, I was just wondering because I plan on buying a second brush with it.
Samantha, how did you come to make this tutorial for Sakura? Great job! I feel much less intimidated by watercolors now, and I'm definitely putting koi watercolor set on my wish list!
I have a question. :) I have only used really cheap, 2-3 euro, watercolors, and when the colored paper is dry it leaves a very powdery texture to the paper, and if you rub your finger on it, the color gets to your hand. Therefore I have used Distress Inks, because they don't feel powdery then dry. But, if I buy more expensive watercolors, like those Koi ones, would they still feel powdery or not? Are all watercolors powdery when dry or just really cheap ones?
I've seen your question around a lot, and from what I know you haven't gotten a good answer back. When you use very cheap paints, many times they will have a filler in the paint to stretch the pigment farther and bring the cost down. If you are using extremely cheep paints and having this happen, it probably means that the filler in your paint is chalk, and a lot of it. You can still use cheep paint, but I would recommend changing brands at the very least.
Perhaps you should change your brand, not all cheap brands use fillers for pigment. Try Prang or even Crayola if necessary, however Prang is better quality in my opinion.
Theres no place on your profile where i see a place that i can messege you :( but that would help alot of if we could do a email, just not sure how to messege you
Samantha, you are so talented..the music too? Wow. Go girl!!

I really liked the color mixtures you did. They go really well together especially the blues and greens.
She is nice to listen to. I love how she makes encouraging comments as she paints.
Amazing Demo! You are so creative and enthusiastic!
You and your Mom are the dynamic duo!

Just one question left after watching: how do you print the graphic on watercolor paper? Go to a place does special printings?
Thanks!

Where do you get a set like the one she's using?
What size and brand of brush are you using.....the standard brush, not the waterbrushes. Thanks!
