- Goliath towers above the park with a staggering 255 foot drop which you’ll take at 85 mph, making this one of the longest and fastest drops in the world. But wait a second, isn’t this ride only 235 feet tall? That’s right, the first drop takes you down into a dark underground tunnel! Goliath then serves up another quick drop of 185 feet.
Here’s what I think of this ride, is it as good as a B&M hyper, no, but is it a bad ride, no, I think people pick on it for not being as good as a B&M, but the drop really isn’t that good, but this thing pulls some amazing G’s in that final helex so I don’t think it’s a bad ride at all, but their are better rides rides here for sure
Absolutely agree. I haven’t ridden it, but I have ridden Titan at my home park Six Flags Over Texas which is basically the same thing.

You're not giving this coaster it's due credit. This coaster first opened in 2001 by a company that no longer exists. At that time there were no b&m hypers in existence. Goliath was once the tallest, fastest, most intense coaster in the world for a short period of time until it was surpassed by another like it. You see what I mean? Goliath paved the way for future, better hypercoasters to come. I see it as a living icon that still operates to this day, thank god. You gotta respect it.

This is my fav roller coaster I rode it a second time at night it was awesome I will cherish Goliath forever
I like how the frequency of the camera matches the speed so the mountings of the rails seem to move forward

When I rode this, at the top when it sorta stops, the guy behind me said “Why’d it stop?” I said “It’s supposed to do that.” He said “Oka-“ then down the drop we go. (I had my eyes closed the entire time lol)

From 2:09 - 2:17 you are being smashed into the car by massive g forces and its almost impossible to keep your hands up straight or even you body for that matter .. this is a great ride!

This is one of the only two roller coasters in the world made by Giovanola before they went bankrupt. The company, (pronounced gee-ow-vuh-nuhl-luh), also created Titan at Six Flags Over Texas. Both rides feature a similar layout, however, Goliath is 10 feet taller and Titan has a helix before the brakerun.

There is also a third one in Johannesburg, South Africa at Gold Reef City called "Anaconda". It's an invert though.

The first time I arrived at Six Flags Magic Mountain, we had parked in the lot behind the original Colossus' first turn, and Goliath's massive first hill. I actually saw a train just reach the top of the lift hill, and it looked like it plummeted almost vertically. I said, "Nope." Glad to say I regretted saying no.
I’m going to six flags this week on July 15th. Cant wait to ride this but very nervous.

There's nothing wrong with being an enthusiast and liking this coaster. It's a ton of fun and gets unnecessary hate.

In Texas at Six Flags Over Texas this is called the Titan. I didn't get to ride it when I went because the cart got stuck but it looks amazing :)

Last time I went here i rode it 4 times in a row! I got off and ran back around with no wait until my head started hurting bad on the ride lol
Great first drop, followed by an amazing turnaround and small bunny hill. Then…well, it brakes, the amazing speed goes away, the track layout loses the thrills, and it limps to the finish line. Whoever designed it should only get 1/2 a paycheck.

@@a_random_guitarist2189 it was not bad actually. It looks so terrifying by just looking at it, but it was so much fun that I actually got on it 3 times. The first drop looks scary when you're at the top, buts it's actually very fun. You should get on it as well there's nothing to regret.

This is my favorite roller coaster ride
It may not be the best or most forceful ride at magic mountain (Barely even makes my top 10 at MM actually) but it’s always so much fun to ride
This coaster may looks like a waste of potential, It may lacks airtime, The drop is too shallow to give any airtime in the back row, And the layout may looks like filler. But the smoothness and the final helix makes up for it, Not a bad ride, Still looks like a good ride.

The helix after that brake is SOO strong / intense, even with the brake i grayed out on it. I can’t imagine how intense it would be going like 25 mph faster.

The main difference is that Titan has a double helix before the middle brakes. Other then that it is the exact same. Titan might be a little higher too.

This is because either a camera was strapped to the front seat or an operator was holding their phone or wearing a head camera in the front row and told not to scream or say anything, as it was likely filmed on a weekday because no people were in the park. It is a great POV because it shows potential new riders just how fast and intense the ride actually is.
This is a must do at Magic Mountain, it’s pretty fun

It’s not, but it is really long. The drop isn’t that steep, which makes it last even longer. I really like the drop!

I got that feeling when I rode my first roller coaster, GhostRider, and now I'm used to it. I'm not pressuring you or anything, but if you're an enthusiast like me, you get used to the feeling. If you want to ride a roller coaster that launches, and has only one drop, try Dodonpa. It looks insanely fun. I haven't ridden it yet, but I've seen footage of it, and its acceleration is insane.

Mostly the same - Titan is 10 feet taller and has an additional helix (the part where you go in a circle). But yeah, they’re about the same thing. They’re actually by the same manufacturer, Giovanola.

I live in Chicago but I am visiting some of my family in California and ne and my sister are going to go and all of the roller coasters are way different the ones in Chicago are way scary then these ones but this one is kinda different.
