Keep Viper(the last 7 looping coaster from Arrow Dynamics) and add new trains without Over the shoulder restraints or with comfortable restraints. You could even re-profile the track and add magnetic brakes to slow down after completing the 3 vertical loops and at the end of the ride for a smooth stop.
@@electric7487 Oh my god, Viper as a new-gen Vekoma sounds amazing. They've really come a long way from 'European Arrow'. Have it be basically Lech but with the scale of Viper and you have an instant bucket-list ride.
Do some track improvements, give it new trains, repaint the track, and give it a new name. Then you can market it as a new ride! Worked great with the conversion from Ninja to Blue Hawk! It's not like it's always a walk-on even with one train operations.
Okay it's rough but don't even consider tearing it down. It's from the 90's and I take it not much has been done for it since then but it's the last of it's kind and it's too iconic to be replaced. Give it a modernization Six Flags, it deserves one badly.
National Coaster News no I would rather have a classic ride than a new ride it may be fought but they can just change the restraints to like soft ones and we're good
This is definitely an underrated ride. Sure, it's rough, but it's one of my favorites! Maybe give it some new trains and a fresh coat of paint, but don't tear it down!
This is one hell of a ride, this thing honestly surprised me when I rode a few months back, I think it’s a great coaster that gets a lot of unnecessary hate! Great ride, hope it stays around for years to come.
For its day (in the 1990's), Viper was truly the king of looping coasters!! From the world's tallest vertical loop to the corkscrew finale. This was the coaster to ride!!
Yes, this ride is very rough today, but when it was brand new, it was awesome and pretty smooth. In the early 90's Viper was by far the tallest and fastest ride in the park, that's why some of us older Viper fans still love the ride although it's pretty rough for today's standards. We remember how great Viper was (before we had: Batman The Ride, Riddler's Revenge, Superman The Escape, Goliath, X2 and Tatsu). For back then, Viper was the scariest, tallest and fastest ride on the Westcoast.
Ok so last weekend lejean my cousin asked me if I had rode viper before I said no it's rough she said alright we did go on gold rusher and that had no line the only rides that had lines were the big ones I held my cousins hand on Goliath lol
KugeiCyclone Many times it’s the trains, not even the track. Arrow coasters with good trains are butter smooth. The yellow train on Demon at CGA in 2016 gave glossy smooth rides.
Yeah! I agree! Six Flags should give Viper the Blue Hawk treatment like they did with Over Georgia, with new Vekoma MK1212 trains and soft vest restraints, so that we won’t hurt our heads. Also, put some softer cushion seating, too.
Viper my old friend It's so good to have you back. You may be almost 30 and you're rough like hell but you have your charm. You're the soul survivor of your kind and I hope you stick around for years to come. You still have your following and I hope to come back and ride you again soon.
If you guys renovate this coaster. Comfortable vest restraints, fix up the track a bit, do a new paint job, and overall do some much needed renovations. I swear this would become an A-list coaster. It already is widely considered to be the best Arrow Looper, so shit if Magic Mountain goes the extra mile to keep this coaster alive I'll respect that.
Viper's a great and enjoyable roller coaster and it would be literally depressing to see it go, it's a piece of history, and the fact that it's the last seven-looper roller coaster in the world makes it a relic, however, the ride is aging horribly and is in desperate need of renovation.
honestly i think people overstate the roughness of this coaster, the only really bad part is the transition between the now-defunct onride camera and the double corkscrews, the rest of it is pretty smooth for an arrow looper
*Last Arrow mega looper, Scream is a 7 inversion machine as well. This ride is absolutely cracked though, the speed it takes that first loop feels illegal, and you just watch the train snap through the loop and you grey out because of the small size of it
i hope they do not take this down. one thing i would change about it is the harnesses, just turn it to a lapbar because i am sick of banging my head on the restraints
I know this ride has loads of haters, but I actually quite enjoyed this roller coaster. As someone who is really tall, I got no headbanging whatsoever, which was great. However, i do think that the restraints are extremely tight on your chest. It kind of reminds me of getting your blood pressure checked for some reason. Also this ride is bumpy, but that makes sense. This ride has been around for over 3 decades. I mean this ride is a fairly intense yet fun roller coaster with a great layout.
Six flags over Georgia redid there ninga/blue hawk. You guys should do the same that way it’s not as rough. One of my favorite rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain though!
@@hellacia8151Viper has been operating day after day now. Look. Six flags aren't that financial since the pandemic but they have been trying their best to keep the rollercoasters operating. Goliath, ninja and other rollercoasters are the ones that aren't operating all the time. Viper rarely closes on days.
I don't know what you guys find so rough about Viper. It's not any rougher than other older steel loopers and it is surely smoother than the old wooden coasters. It must just be that younger people are spoiled by modern coasters. When Viper opened, people raved about how lightning fast and smooth it was. Just learn how to keep your head facing forwards and against the headrest and you will be fine.
Viper is my number 3 out of all the rides at Magic Mountain. Tatsu and Twisted colossus are amazing but this one is too! I think this ride is very underrated along with Scream which I also like!

if you can't ride a rough coaster you're barely qualified to be an enthusiast. imagine thinking you're better than others for being less able to enjoy a great ride

I've only been on 2 of their loopers (Anaconda at Kings Dominion, and Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg), and I LOVE BOTH OF THOSE RIDES! Well, I liked Loch Ness Monster better though.
I really don't think that it's all that rough, either. It's just from people expecting a ride of Viper's size and age to be as smooth as a modern steel coaster. These older looping coasters were smooth when they were new, but companies have found ways to make them smoother and these older ones now feel rough to many people. I think of it like riding classic wooden coasters. Some of those are rougher rolling into the station than any part of Viper, but I'm able to enjoy them because I respect that they are from a different time in coaster design. I wish that more people would apply that mindset to old steel coasters!

Shockwave at SFGAm and The Great American Scream Machine at SFGAdv.
TheSlickkEffect Shockwave at Six Flags Great America and the Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags Great
