Yea I know u rite I went and looked at them in March and came out with 23 street glide I don’t like the Speedo on the 24 and hate the integrated turn signals in the fairings I do like the new style fairing but hate the lights and that’s going to drive down the aftermarket side lights unless they invent something different but I do not like the integrated lights probably pain in the ass if turn signals goes out rite when the 2 year warranty goes be my luck
About 2 weeks ago, my local dealership was actually updating all the ‘24 RG and SG back to the original software because the latest firmware update was causing the issues you are describing on the infotainment. Take it back to your dealer and have them put the old software back in the infotainment. Takes about 3 minutes. Hope this helps
I have a 22 Pan America and it had those same teething issues with the screen. HD kept the updates coming and after this last round, its pretty solid. You have a beautiful bike. Ride safe.
I hope this helps people thinking about the bike. If you have any questions let me know. I may post more videos if you have questions. The whole screen resetting and blanking is a problem.
CarPlay will work over Bluetooth I know. Not sure about WiFi. I prefer connecting via the cable cause the sound quality of my app I use seems to be a little better that way. Great review. I just picked my 24 RG up 3/16. Good luck finding seats, I can’t find any that are available yet manufacturers are still catching up with the changes.
I have a 24 cvo road glide st and never had the entire screen blank. 2. The menu is designed to disappear after a little bit. It’s not blanking out. It should only appear once you press the button.
No issues with mine but the FM Radio station list is limited to 6 stations and you can’t just scroll through them. Hoping a software update can address this soon..
I have the 2023 cvo and the problems with the screen are just so bad. Harley I feel have just forgotten about us. No updates to fix these ongoing problems. I would like to send the bike back and have my money returned . However Harley are not that generous. Good luck with dealing with them. Here in Australia there is no help from them really poor 😢
I think you are wrong about the infotainment center blanking out is designed to go off after about 10 seconds. My ‘24 Street Glide goes off every time after about 10 seconds. Will stay on if you press radio, car play etc.
for your hotspot-bring up the hot spot menu then go into your bike under wifi and pick other network your phone should then show up pick it and it will show up on your dash as connected.
The whole point of why I like bikes is the lack of stupid technology. I work with tech, software and bleeding edge stuff. I do not want my bike to be a tech project. These things are going to have software issues for years. This is why I'll always prefer the Road King Special.
Infotainment.. looks expensive to replace... where is the radio?? All built in?? Nice as long as it doesn't quit.. but thats probably $6000 for the dash
If you’re thinking about buying don’t wait for the 25 models to come out it’ll give them more time to work out the shit that should have been right in the first place or not. And deal with the stress of very expensive POS for now
If you are still having a problem I have a suggestion for you but not sure if it will work - experiment time. Delete the wifi connection (hotspot) between the bike and phone and run it that way for awhile. I’m thinking that your loosing your CarPlay when the bike tries to connect to the hotspot for updates. Too many connections causing issues IMO. If you do try this, would love to hear the results. (I haven’t received my 24 yet).
I did a factory reset and that seemed to fix the problem. I had to reconfigure everything. It did cut out once on my Daytona trip but I stopped at a rest stop, then when restarting the bike no problems.
Got over 2k on mine. The info-tainment on mine is working like it's supposed to. There is a start up pattern that seems to work good for this system. I wish it remembered the connection information. It seems like I'm having to change the audio routing settings pretty frequently. IMHO it should remember how the audio is routed when it recognized the Bluetooth device LOL
So the upgrade can be done in your garage as I’m getting an up grade prompt but haven’t done it yet - also waiting for Harley to be able to load the NAV by downloading as well it’s not set up yet I was told … why did you take it to the dealer …?
The upgrade to the infotainment and ecm can’t be done in garage. It has to be brought it. It’s a long deal where they put it on a charger. Takes hours.
Nothing about you or your video but with these bikes getting all these bells and whistles on them to me that's just more stuff that goes bad or can go wrong and then end up costing a small fortune to fix.
Hey Mike! Appreciate you sharing your experience! I think much of the CarPlay issues are caused by having your phone paired to the bike for BlueTooth AND WIFI but also trying to use wireless CarPlay. You really want to choose one method or the other. I have a video on this topic that may help you out. Reach out with questions: th-cam.com/video/-3Ej_sMdP7E/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the info. I pick up my 2024 CVO Road Glide later today.
Congratulations, happy with it?
I'm old school. Can't really get my head around the whole infotainment thing 😂❤
There's Harley Porn on that screen. Mostly fat chicks with fake boobs and tattoos, but after 5 Coronas who cares - right?
That and water cooled 🤦🏼♂️ I’ll stick with my old evo 😂

It would cool if Harley made an analog version for $10,000 less. I love my ‘09 ultra classic. I’m not into playing with a computer when I’m riding.
They don’t have $10k in electronics and not to mention analog gauges are not much cheaper at the volume they get these radios from China.
Example: 2024 Hydra-Glide Revival, analog gauge, not $10k cheaper without the tech.
@@freebehindbars8654that bike is a custom somewhat Heritage nothing else
Why would it be cool if you already love your 09 classic? **old man yells at cloud** - that’s you
$10k 😂😂😂😂

Thanks I am at the latest update available now. I will be publishing a follow up after I road test a week or so
Even if it costs the same amount of money straight across, I would choose the one without the video game screen..

Taking delivery of my new 2024 white onyx pearl on black this coming weekend. Hope HD can fix the infotainment system soon
There is a recent update. I am testing now. Will post another video after
I get some
Time with it. Thanks for the note !
Bite the new apple, get the new worms. Anything brand new requires 1st year users to smooth out the issues. Thanks for stepping up.
This isn’t new, believe it’s been around since 22 and on last years cvo

So true. Happens with cars, boats, bikes, guns, you name it.

Picked up my ‘24 RG on 3.18. Have 190 miles and no issues so far with the infotainment system. Car play has been perfect.
Issue with CarPlay. The only way to get wireless CarPlay is adding a dongle. That will black out and restart more often than wired.

I have had the same frustrations with the info system. The motorcycle is awesome. The fairing is awesome. The info system is not.
Hey Michael. Same issues. The software is so buggy
Sorry to hear that. If enough people complain !
@@michaelk946 I hope you’re right. Even after the software updates still having issues. Similar to yours. It’s very disappointing
Was waiting for the no start and reliability issues
Nothing will ruin your day faster than playing candy crush. And the screen goes out. Yuppie techno trash
If you get lost because your "infotainment" screen suddenly can't tell you where to go, it's not the bike that's the problem. It's the rider.
Agreed. I ride a '57 FL. I have to confess, I have used a road map traveling cross country.
You have never driven somewhere that you aren’t familiar with and just relied on google maps. ?? Good for you.
I love the bike but I'm not crazy about the zipper look on the middle of the seat. Everything else is spot on!

Not when you are on the bike the display should stay in.
Same issues with my PanAm screen.

I got a 20 road glide limited. It rides like a motorcycle. Not really liking the new stuff. They put to much tech on them. Beautiful bike though.

Yep, that's the plan and fish are biting.

I just got 2024 Street Glide. No problems at all. You cant have a problem when android don't even work with HD anymore 😂.
HD turned the roaglide into the pan American 😂😂😂
Carplay keeps blacking out because your not connected to a headset. Has to have a headset connected to work.
Nope. I have my headset on and while tooling along it blacks out and resets and disconnects
@@michaelk946
OK. I noticed the headset icon was not lit up when it was going to black. Thought that may have been it. The icon should lite up
