So, so true, Tom has a deeper understanding of musical composition and harmony and the way he compliments gracefully despite having such a massive talent on a par with Wilson, shows he's a gentleman as well as having soul in his veins.
@Bo Bo Knows Whose black life was being harmed by Tom Jones? He was just showcasing black artists on his show who might never have gotten that much exposure otherwise. Pickett as a black man had a right to be angry, but not with a man who only treated him with respect.
Wilson Pickett was being an ass plain and simple. Tom Jones had nothing but LOVE For black artists and ALWAYS gave them the recognition openly that he felt they deserved. He showcased them regularly on his show and at that time during prime time, in those days that was a BIG DEAL. And that respect and recognition was reciprocated from black artists back to Sir Tom. Pickett was a nasty piece of work when he wanted to be and his reputation as a extremely difficult and at times confrontational person to work with was well documented. His beating at the hands of some members from the Hells Angels probably had an interesting back story which likely involved his attitude and running off at his mouth to the wrong people.
Sir Tom is a true gentleman. He bought me a drink on my 40th birthday in Victoria BC. His son his manager & he were at the restaurant me & my girlfriend were celebrating my birthday at. She tried to buy them a drink, but they bought one for us instead. Then we all said "good night, nice sharing the Waterclub restaurant with you" . Cool guy!
Tom jones could trade punches with any body. He and janice Joplin did a cover of Raise your hand. Probably the best performance i've ever seen in my entire life. This one has got to be number two. Hands down.
I was kid when music like this was everywhere, at that time it never occurred to me that music would never get better than this, that I was growing up in a musical golden age that would never be repeated. I was so very lucky
Just when you thought something like this might never exist, Tom Jones and Wilson Pickett sing "Hey Jude", and you thank whatever you might speak up to, that you were able to exist in the same time as this music. Powerful and maybe the only two people who could produce a version that dwarfs the Beatles
Tom invited guys most wouldn't think of. He hit em' all up to star on his TV program and they truly appeared to appreciate his openness and kindness. Tom is one of a kind... After more thought on this subject of America's Black Stars appreciating being invited on Tom's shows, and while that was most certainly true, there was great appreciation coming from Tom's side as well. He said he loved these stars as a boy and young professional. So the thought of actually performing with these stars must have bowled him over...

This was Beautiful. Why can’t we live like this With Peace & Harmony
Tom Jones, nothing to envy from any singer. Great voice it just flows naturally. With any singer, any genre, the best of the best, even to this day!
Brilliantly brilliant brilliance. So sad Wilson and Tom didn’t get to do this again and again. You can feel the soul from American gospel and Welsh male voice choirs thru this..
I loved watching The Tom Jones Show. He had so many talented artists on, & the duets were always off the chain. Tom held his own with all of them, thoroughly into the music.
Such an amazing talent! Ive just found Tom Jones and cant get enough 😍
This is a fantastic duet I grew up listening to their music, they're both great. Tom can sing any genre
This is the very definition of absolute cool
WOW! These gentlemen are the real thing! Fantastic arrangement, too.
The greats ♥️ such a great performance 👏👏👏
Amazing 👏👏
Watching from Suriname 🇸🇷.🤗
damm...you know, I'm 38 years old, but hearing those beautiful songs, sung by two talented, soulfull singers like them...makes me wonder why the hell can't we have this kind of performance, of passion, of enjoyment in music nowadays? Greetings from Brazil
The so called Music Industry these days don't want ant more talent anymore. Horrible. SMH
My speakers overloaded with all that coolness and soul.
Yeah, Feeling this! Before my time but this is real music. Looked they were both enjoying it too.
