Barry always acted mature and led his life without being sleazy and addicted. He had to take care of the business end of their careers, and he had much more responsibilities than his brothers. He said they didn't like that job. Barry wasn't plagued by the demons his brothers had to suffer through. True, they were all human, and none of them were perfect. To their credit, they both became clean and sober where their addictions were concerned. Robin did live a life of perversion. It was his choice and his business and his weakness for whatever reason he enjoyed that type of life. Barry and Mo didn't follow that lifestyle and made better choices. Mo was living a happy life with his family when he tragically passed much too soon.😢 Barry should not be hated because he lived a different life than Robin. They all made their choices.
@@brcfan9 - Wilson and Barry took turns, not all of them. What does "sleaze" have to do with the performance? Nothing. Mo pulled a gun on his family. Barry chased a man down a London street with a gun. Call me a liar but provide proof. Your comment has nothing to do with the video. Just a chance to be a Robin hater again.
@susieq9801 Did you go back and watch the video again, and did you see what I saw? It actually showed what I said. We saw what Wilson did to Mo and at that exact moment Barry was not even paying any attention to what they had going on but was singing loudly with his eyes mostly closed and was staring towards the floor. Is he supposed to be a mind reader too? I just asked how any of us know if that is what Wilson wanted to do. Is it actually for Mo to come up and sing? You said Barry prevented Mo from singing, but how could he do that if he didn't even know what was taking place? I don't know what sleaze has to do with any of that, but did I mention sleaze in my post? I'm trying to be respectful to you as you asked me to be specific, and I thought I was. I started from the beginning and paused through the 107 mark as you said. That's where it began, and all I could see is what so many said they saw. Barry was already singing before Wilson said what he did to Mo, and Barry could not see it, and I doubted if he could hear them. Sorry if you can't see it. I did not see him prevent Mo from singing. Also, I have never once said I was there for any rehearsal, and you know that I didn't. I said they usually rehearsed these shows because it was live. I said it was probably planned that Barry would sing on that song, and I couldn't see Wilson calling Mo up to sing if Barry had rehearsed the song as it might be confusing. I have no way of knowing this, of course, just as you have no way of knowing if Wilson was inviting Mo to sing. And I didn't see Barry stopping anyone from singing ever. And as I said, these are grown men and two of them and only one of Barry, so I always ask why didn't they confront him if things bothered them? They had so many ways they could have dealt with these things if they were bothered by them. They each had their own manager plus other department heads they could have gone to. I say it's only real in some Robin fan's minds as I never heard any of this stuff until the twins were gone. And no I will never admit to something I never have seen and that is Barry being rude to anyone not even his brothers. It's just not in his nature. @@brcfan9 - I certainly do not now nor did I ever claim or consider Robin a "saint". He was a flawed person. He admitted he had PTSD for life after Hither Green (which was not recognised let alone treated at that time) and his personality did a 180 degree turn as Barry himself said. I often wondered if he had some degree of autism. A high IQ, eccentricity, social awkwardness (to which he admitted), etc. Mo said he was not one to express emotions or give a group hug. Barry said he was two different people, one funny and delightful, the other moody and sad. That fits. It is not fair however to give arm chair diagnoses but I can have empathy for someone's dysfunctions. These could be reasons, not excuses. What do we know? He also admitted he was at odds with his brothers when they passed and he said he has to live with that. I respect him for saying that as well. It takes a man to do so. Barry, as a professional, has a responsibility to know what is transpiring during a performance. When he resumed singing his brothers were also professional enough not to sing at the same time and ruin the performance. They didn't need to be tied up in ropes and certainly weren't going to wrestle each other to the ground and all look like fools. I don't think they confronted him very often because the family had a definite hierarchy that was not to be disturbed. Several of their bios say that family members lived in each other's pockets including their wives and their families and were expected to follow the rules. Linda said she found it bizarre that she, a grown woman and mother, had her parents living with them. Molly said she would not be bossed around by the commune and the closeness was overbearing, possibly another factor in refusing to move to Miami or tour with them and even in their divorce. When Kim left Andy, Barbara said "you are either in or you are out" and Andy told her "Once you are married to a Gibb THEY are your family". (All from Tales of the brothers Gibb). A very strict and stifling family dynamic. Both Barry and Robin had egos and wanted recognition while Mo was more placid although I believe he drank to cover his dissatisfaction and depression. To quote him, again a direct quote, he said "There was the good looking one, the one with the teeth and the other one"....him. That had to destroy his self esteem. He was by far the best musician. Anyway, enough of this. As for the video, we each no doubt have confirmation bias. So be it.
