- The parasite on Mega Brutal isn't really that different from the bacteria or the virus, at least in terms of strategy. The primary disadvantages of the parasite is slow vaccine research and more infectivity in poor countries... but with any luck, the parasite can start in Europe and get locked down before it becomes a real threat.

Other people already said this, but pro tip: If you burst an infection bubble and there’s green gas leaking out, that’s the origin country.
To trace the origin country, check details of the country. It will state how it got infected:
• Transmitted by air from [country].
• Transmitted by ship from [country].
• Transmitted on land from [country].
If it reads "New disease detected", you found the origin country. This is more important on mobile due to lack of green gas animation.

@@xxxmemelordxxx5038 Control screen only displays that when the origin country is already found. Otherwise, it will say "unknown." What I am describing is how to trace origin country using other countries as reference.

@@xxxmemelordxxx5038 Green gas is present on every platform, except mobile. Regardless of platform, origin country's red bubble will sound like the play bubble in main game when popped.
What you are describing is a random approach: relying on investigators to find the origin country (represented as blue planes, helicopters, and ships).
What I am describing is directed approach:
• Find an infected country.
• Determine how it got infected (example: by ship from Greenland).
• In case information leads to a country without intel yet, send Field Operatives to create Intel.
• Repeat until origin country is found.
This method finds the origin country faster.
It's really interesting, that timelapse in victory screen (11:00) shows entirely different results - it shows more than 7 millions deaths, compared to 240 thousands in actual game (10:03)
I know this is a year old comment, but I'm pretty sure that the victory time-lapse is based on how the computer fared running a simulation of your game, not actually what you played.

i don't know how plausible this would be, but i'd love to see a randomized game mode, where you don't initially know what disease you're dealing with. maybe you could even have multiple diseases popping up in different areas.
Imagine having to deal with nano virus and bio weapon simultaneously. Yeah, good luck there.

A never-ending game mode where you're just always on the lookout for new diseases of varying severity/infectivity, sorta like a real life simulator would be dope and would make the replayability of this game so high

I can’t imagine how hard the bio weapon is going to be, I only completed it after many attempts on normal and with over 7billion dead
Generally you can only stop it if it starts in South America, and you manage to prevent it from getting out of there. Otherwise, several billions will die.
@@simonlind44 I was able to contain it to 4 countries in Europe, and whenever a plane went out to another continent, I'd rush over there and use Extreme Measures II to quickly kill off the infected. I'm not sure why it didn't spread much in Europe; I think it's because I closed land borders and used border monitoring. By using a quarantine and other infection reducing measures, I was able to stop the disease with few deaths and got a score of like 220000

@@bopsgaming3810 I'd just keep looking at the infected countries list, and if it ever went above 4, I'd quickly rush to that country and take care of the infection
funny thing! i dunno if they nerfed it or something since then, but i was actually able to beat it on normal while barely doing anything. all i did was find the disease and make sure my authority was okay (by declaring armageddon and expectation management, then buying more and freezing it when needed) and the disease wiped itself out. not without killing over 7 billion people, but it worked! wasn't expecting it to, i was just trying it out of curiosity, but it did. i will note though, it got SUPER close and i think a good part of that was just luck. but you can do this same thing on casual with a much higher success rate. just thought that was kinda amusing... it kills so fast that, given enough luck and some strategic placement of fake news and censorship, you can just sit back and watch. also, i somehow got 2 or 3 stars, can't remember which.

Yes and no. Idk how it is on Evolved mode but I got that game on my phone and there's an option where you can change the infectivity, lethality and quarantine effectivity and so on

Cure mode is pretty much still in bare-bones fresh outta the dev's computer, so I guess it could catch up with the main game in maybe 1-1,5 years. I also hope that, following the design phylosophy of the special plagues, it is free if you beat x stuff in x difficulty or something.

I got a little sad inside when you couldn’t try to cure the special diseases (Nurax Worm, Necroa Virus, etc.)
They might add that later
The special diseases do revolve around player interaction via moving various units around as well as special modifiers and events, so it's unlikely it will happen, even as a PvP mode.

i wonder if there is a strategy for the last disease where you try and ramp up its fatality rate where the disease tries to keep it low during part of the game.
This would be very interesting in multiplayer one person trying to make the cure and one trying to destroy the world I don’t know how they would make it balanced but a cool concept

Weird that the ending screen was different than what happened in game. The playback shows the parasite getting on boats and destroying Central America and Korea and 7 million people but the time and authority are the same. Weird bug I guess.

I gotta say, I love both Plague and Cure, but Cure seems a lot more like I’m actually playing as the WHO very well designed.
Tbf it did take like a year or 2 before they got it done, not to mention they had real life to look at compared to disease which when they made the game the closest thing to a outbreak was in 2008

People say this is very easy even on mega brutal yet I am struggling to clear these on Normal. It might seem easy watching someone play it but actually playing it yourself? It's one different experience.
Sometimes, the origin country can make a huge difference. This is especially apparent in Bioweapon. In Parasite, a poor origin country is immediate trouble due to Parasite's characteristic: bonus infectivity of poor countries.
On mobile I had to do parasite before fungus for cure mode
