  • www.autobytel.com/lincoln/mkz/... For the 2017 model year, the Lincoln MKZ gets a great looking facelift and a Turbocharged 3.0 liter engine as an option. The MKZ is offered in 4 levels of trim ranging in price from $35,170 to $49,720. The standard engine is a 2.0 liter Turbocharged Direct Injected 4-cylinder that makes 245 horsepower. But the real bad boy is the optional 3.0 liter twin-turbocharged V-6 that makes 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft. of torque with AWD. This engine carries a price tag of $4,000. Fuel economy is 18 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway.
    The MKZ is the epitome of quiet luxury until you step on the gas and unleash the 400 horsepower. This car is a joy to drive: smooth, quiet, and composed. The interior is wonderfully appointed.

    I drove one of these recently and was absolutely shocked as how powerful and refined the 3.0 TT engine was. It needs a few more MPG but other than that it was fabulous. The car it was attached to was pretty damn good as well.

      I really wish it was at 27 or 28 MPG. 26 MPG may not seem much different but it does add up over time!

    Just picked up a 2017 MKZ 3.0 AWD in blood red with ebony interior. Minus the handling it's like a 4 door Mustang GT, heck it easily beats many versions of them pre Coyote. in the 1/4, it's dead quiet rides very well and hauls ass when needed. I went for an hour drive after signing on the dotted line and wanted to just keep driving! Absolutely love it.

      @guess what I own a 2016 2.0T with AWD. Reading comparison tests will have you thinking that the 2.0 turbo is a dog because with this engine it is one of the "slower" cars in it's class. However, in real world driving, the 2.0 turbo never lacks for power...MPG could be better though.

      @@louman2342 mine has 462,000 miles and best car I ever owned. I really don't want to write this because karma will bite my ass but here goes. Only thing I have replaced besides wipers, bulbs, brake pads ,rotors, battery, tires are :
      1 radiator ! One radiator. Also I deliver things
      Got the original belt, starter, alternator it's crazy
      And I make SO MANY STOPS EVERYDAY, I stop at numerous hotels putting out brochures, & ongoing Census work for 12 years, tons of miles and stop and go. Rarely change oil ,never changed any other fluids except radiator. Not that is anything to brag about because it would probably be in better shape motor wise. Bought with 50,000. Stereo still kicks, cd player doesn't work, seats need motors for back and forth. Original window motors. Blows my mind about the starter as I stop and go so much. Got 26 & 32 when I bought it. Now about 24 & 27 max on highway. Oh yeah one tune up at 100000 miles 1200.00 it didn't need it and I should not have gotten it done 03 e 320 because it ran worse. Not bad but waste of money
      I make 1000's of stops a month. Now it definitely needs a new engine and is probably running on 4 cylinders max. But it just keeps on. Supervisor over mercedes service said I was the luckiest SOB he knew. Mechanics quit over that model there were so many problems. So if I don't write back that means my car started because I'm leaving 😂

      The AWD V6TT makes more horsepower than the same(?) V6TT engine in RWD MKZ's.
      "440Racing" dyno'ed the AWD V6TT MKZ and it made 350whp with 87 octane. That's about 430~440 hp from the engine. It would probably make around ~490 or ~500 bhp with 93-octane gas.

    Due to lowering my monthly overhead i recently traded in a 2015 Genesis 5.0 and opted to get a 2014 Lincoln MKZ 2.0T with 20k. This is pretty much the base model with no sunroof, no nav, and no electric trunk etc. This is my first American car in 20yrs.. I had two mustangs back then. In all honestly the Genesis is more refined IMO.. I could immediately tell with the doors and plastic sound coming from the MKZ. In any event i really really like the front end of the new 2017's. It looks aggressive and the LED's look amazing. This car will serve its purpose for a few years but i like the styling of my 2014.
    So with the newer model.. Is there a 3.0T and 3.0TT? or just 3.0TT? I would definitely opt for the AWD next time.. Who knows maybe lincolns next go around will make a rear wheel drive. Just steel it from the mustang... lol..

    I have the 2014 Lincoln hybrid, first ford I ever own. I don't know why they put the knobs back on the newer models, like the climates or radio, my is all touch, no knobs. I like the ideal if my teenagers drive it, I can set it on speed limit that they can't drive over, if I set it on 60, then that is fast they can go. Also if they undo seat belts then radio will not play, I can even set the volume limit too. That not punishing my child, it just safety. What really amazes me, is that I get almost 40 miles per gallon. But I do need to say this, not real rooming inside, most guys would hit their head inside the top. So I thought I just let yal know ( yes, I from country)..... have a great day.....

    This car and the Taurus cousin.... my right leg feels so boxed in. I can't move it to the right at all because of the console design. It's pretty aggrevating for such a big car to be so confining. It's especially troublesome on a longer drive. This comes from my experience with rentals. One really wonders if anyone drives these cars before hand. And SOMEONE knows at Ford that this is an issue but they aren't being heard.

    • @JuniorFan08
      @JuniorFan08 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This was the exact "problem" I had with my '13 Taurus. For such a large car, I thought the front was very confining. I was constantly banging my leg on the console trying to find a different position. When the lease was up, I went with a Fusion because it seemed a little more open. I do miss the extra storage space in the Taurus console, however. I don't understand why every car has to have bucket seats with large consoles. I much prefer a split bench with a column shift.

      Michael this is the first thing I go checking for before I buy ‘any’ car. Mostly because I buy and don’t lease. So I need to know if/when I’ll need to shell out $1000 or more to replace the belt. I believe this car uses a chain! Most automakers are using chains now! Most... not all. Acura surprisingly is still using belts in their V6 applications.

    • @michaelgrant5258
      @michaelgrant5258 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jayd8547 A timing belt is a terrible thing over a chain, especially if the car has already depreciated to near no value.
      I am looking at an acura with a V6 with timing belt. Sadly its my only option for what I want in a car overall. I guess $1000 every 9 years minimum or 100k isn't that bad compared to issues that KIA/Hyundai and Honda have with their current and past cars.
      Would I rather lose a engine or transmission or do a timing belt lol

    Beautiful car, I just have to say that today's engines are getting smaller and turbocharged which is pretty sweet, mileage wise, but to get that powet you need to run 93 octane which get expensive. In my opinion I would rather have a naturally aspirated engine and run cheaper gas, but I think those days are disappearing.

    This Lincoln MKZ is a nice car when compared to Cadillac or Chrysler 300s but no way can this MKZ be compared to Lexus, BMW, Mercedes or Audi's even in the same price range. The interior feels cheap in this car and that ridiculous push button transmission is a joke from 50 years ago. It's too gimmicky to be a serious luxury car these days.

      Rudy F push buttons are not a gimmick these days considering theres no need for an actual shift lever when its not mechanically connected to anything. Though they share a chassis as many cars do they are much more different than similar. And by the way, the Lincoln has switch gear not found on any Ford.
