One thing I noticed. The graveyard hate cards like relic that nukes the graveyard kinda help you get more bats from the tomb lol
It's only ever 1 Bat, though, because it's "one or more", and Relic throws all of them out at once.

Yeah, only a single Bat, but it's still something. Would be sort of funny to play a creature-heavy deck and use Relic to Exile your own creatures one by one to make Bats.

A single copy seems to be appearing in a lot of spirits lists for some reason.
Makes a decent amount of sense in sideboard. One-sided wrath if the match-up is a race.
ankhi3 With modern being so diverse, it seems like a reasonable catch-all answer in case your opponent decides to, say, attack with a bazillion bat tokens. Lightning bolt doesn't do much for you in that scenario.
Two years since the upload and this is still probably my favourite deck ever
This was a fun one to watch. Expected a weaker dredge, got a grindy beast instead.

Maybe its just me playing Standard and having to deal with it so many times, but seeing 4 mana open, two of which was white, instantly made me go "oh no". Luckily this deck can rebuild against Settle.

Jim Harbor choose to leave Squee in the yard, play Tomb, get Squee back the next turn for value
so Seth discarded the two squees to the escalate ability on the Collective Brutality, but then brought them back into his hand next upkeep without another way to discard them
What else did you expect from Seth? I can't understand how someone can play magic so much and make such wrong basic plays.
K-Command? When you’re setting up you can target yourself to discard, and it also doubles as removal, card adv etc. It can take a creature out of the gy too so tomb synergy!
Seems good. Maybe he just thought Collective Brutality was better for the slot. You never have to target yourself to get the discard so both/all three of the effects hit the opponent, and it costs less mana.
Desecrated tomb seems sucha sweet card. I have been waiting to see Seth's deck around it as long as M19 has been released :D

This deck is crazy. But I noticed when you mill over the token makers it gets not as good. Maybe some Noxious Revivals since you're in Green anyways (or can pay life)?
Gaea's Blessing the answer, if you mill it with dredge you get everything back with the addendum of x bats. And you can cast it to get back key pieces and dredge with the cantrip. (yeah, I love Gaea's Blessing)
Shuffeling them back doesn't really help you find it, it also shuffles back all your squees, blood ghasts, dredgers and lootings. Seriously! Why would you nuke your own graveyard in a graveyardbased deck? You can't even time it. Also note that this would only make one bat per tomb. Casting it is also pretty bad since the effect is pretty weak and you lose alot of tempo. Please don't play blessing in this deck, darksteel relic is probably better.
Revival could be good.
not the answer. at some point you want a good graveyard to keep the combo rolling. gaea's would be graveyard hating yourself. you'd have to be careful not to dredge it while having bloodghast or squee's in the graveyard.
Gaea's Blessing is "up to". You can cast it without removing anything from your graveyard if you just want to cycle it and shuffle your library.
4/27/2018 If Gaea’s Blessing has no legal target cards in a graveyard, either because its targets became illegal or because you didn’t choose any, the target player shuffles their library.

This deck was pretty sweet! I am excited about desecrated tomb, mainly for my zombie edh deck.
I haven't watched the video yet but I think a more appropriate name for this deck is poop dredge

I'm haunted by the thought that desecrated tomb goes infinite with one Jadzi in hand and one in the graveyard.
This deck should have found room for Shared Animosity. You’re making a TON of Zombies and Bats, and a mini craterhoof is exactly the kind of thing you’d want to see. I also like playing Elixir of Immortality in the SB to fight against Relic, Crypt and Nihil Spellbomb-type effects.
As a burn player, I can safely say that there is a direct correlation between winning and the number of Collective Brutalities cast. That card does everything burn doesn’t want to see.
and when you wanna do all 3 modes anyways at any cost.....
Looks like this deck has a great matchup against burn and a terrible on against Humans. Sweet deck overall, very cool interactions.

I know this is a Bit late, but an idea I love for this deck is one of the graveyard-shuffling eldrazi titans. Hit an Ulamog, and you make a number of bats equal to the number of cards in your graveyard. Biiigggg payoff.
I didn't even know Seth worked on a deck like this. I dabbled in standard but settled on reanimator

Tfw an Against the Odds deck becomes a tier deck.
This deck is awesome I did not know you could stack the nabob triggers I don't have 800ish bucks but I will definitely work on makeing this I love it
I wonder if going further into green for commune with the gods would be good. Zombie infestation is arguably the most important card in the deck and worst case you put more cards in the graveyard. I just feel like cutting a couple dredgers to try to find the combo easier would be good.
Is it time to revisit this now that we can play 8 Squees via Master of Death?
I know it's a small thing, and I'm not sure if Seth actually mentions it, but verdant catacombs is better in this deck than polluted delta. Delta can't search up stomping grounds. Like I said, small thing, but I think mana base construction is really interesting :)

Squee also breaks Liliana. I really want to try a jund shell with squee and Desecrated Tomb with Bloodghast and Vengivine.
Why didn't Blood Moon come in from the sideboard against Humans?
Came here to say the same thing. So will just augment your voice :) . It's even one of Seth's favorite cards!
I think maybe Seth thought a 3 mana enchantment would be too slow, specially against an aggro deck with a lot of disruption + aether vials.
@@amnesix300 Yeah, can understand that, but at the same time, Humans doesn't always just have the nut hand with Aether vial and kitesail, and instead gets priced into keeping a 1 drop 2 drop curve out hand. A blood moon can REALLY punish that and just be 'good game' when that happens sometimes. Especially if they don't find a vial after that
Cards i think could've been good in the sideboard/deck:
Phantasmagoria (mill it, discard 3 cards from hand to return it to hand its crazy value!), Fulminator Mage (usually better than Blood Moon against tron and such) and maybe a Liliana of the Last hope.

Desecrated tomb is super sweet in standard with skeleton dragon and scrapheap scrounger

Was expecting(and to be honest kinda hoping to see) a crazy otk combo where you mill yourself and exile your own graveyard with a desecrated tomb and something like Purphoros out to deal 20+ damage. Your idea is definitely more effective well still looking unique and interesting.
That plan is a bit harder, since you only get one Bat if you exile your entire graveyard. I think there are still some ways to do it if you can draw infinite cards/dredge an infinite number of times).

It was just long and boring. We didn't do anything fun, but eventually cast Damnation and won with Bloodghast. Cut it for the sake of time.

At 38:25 you mulligan what seemed like a keeper: T1 Thoughtseize, T2 Infestation pitching Squee and Thug, seems legit, no? I'm curious why you mulliganed. This deck is super sweet by the way, I'm tempted to build it IRL :)

really not sure why you were so afraid of wurmcoil? them gaining 6 life isn't that big of a deal and you can just block it with your imps or 3 zombies or whatever.

KCI + 2 Myr Retriever works a little easier and means you can just try to work a few Tombs into an already existing archetype rather than building a whole new bad dredge deck.
The problem with that is twofold. There is a pretty deep lack of innovation and desecrated tomb wouldn't actually do anything in the deck other than be a win on for an infinite loop.
Nah it adds a Wincon that beats something like Leyline of the Sanctity, which as of right now I dont think (although admittedly I don't know the deck well enough and could be wrong) can beat.
Also, my point was not "hey, lets upgrade KCI" but more "Oh you wanna play Tomb, this is probably the best home for it."
at least on the coolest scale, I think a new value engine is more cool than a replacement for a combo win-con.
Did Golgari Thug do nothing in this deck, or did it just not _get_ to do anything in the matches? Cause it looked like it didn't do anything to me.

When you were facing Tron why didn't you destructive revelry to destroy the oblivion stone when they were tapped out and win, you even drew the land to get the green source?

Why was Seth on the draw in game 2 against humans? He lost game 1, he should have been on the play? Am I missing something?
Why did we not Revelry the Humility the turn before? Or drop them to 1 & wait for them to tap out?
I was worried about opponent flashing in a Spirits and then countering with their Mausoleum Wanderers.
I see that Seth boards out thoughtseize's when aginst humans. I'm wondering if that's the correct play. I play Mill and have thoughtseize and commonly go against humans at my card shop. Is seize's 2 damage too much against humans or is the removal of a card too good. It's a question I have been having trouble with recently.

The problem is you're playing mill.

Thoughtsieze plays differently in different decks. If you’re playing mill, you are mainly playing it to protect yourself, whereas dredge decks mainly play it to prevent the opponent from protecting themselves.
Thoughtseize can’t really stop humans from protecting themselves against decks like seth’s very well, but it could help a mill deck take out 1 crucial card in their hand (e.g. thalia, freebooter). Seth’s best choice against humans is pretty much to go full aggro and only leave in the synergistic disruption (such as collective brutality and lightning ax).
I think this is a good breakdown. I don't think Thoughtseize is just bad against Humans, it depends on the deck and your sideboard options.
Shouldn’t you put like a basic Forest and a Wooded Foothills in there so you can cast Destructive Revelry through Blood Moon?
Yeah, that came up a couple of times, Forest in the sideboard seems like a good plan.
Put a Mimic Vat into this deck. Whenever a (nontoken) creature dies, Desecrated Tomb triggers when you Imprint a creature that died onto Mimic Vat.

In game 2 vs. humans you had the opportunity to kill the vial but discarded the removal instead, why did you do that?
By that time the damage had already been done, I don't think that blowing up Aether Vial at that point would have been all that helpful.

the land base would need a little work aswell that revelery sat burning a hole in your hand against tron because no basic forest, also deltas should be catacombs
