If you think about it, both of Nash’s stories about Starrcade ‘97 could be true. Marijuana use has long been known to trigger anxiety attacks in some people especially if they’re not prepared for how intense the effects can be (a common problem with edibles). Halfway through the match the paper falls off and they continue the match without putting the paper up; so they climb for an empty clipboard and Kaz wins and held up the empty clipboard.

I know Rhino was a last minute decision to be champion but i always wondered why he didnt get more of a run with the title instead of having Jarrett having his own reign of terror that seemed like it would never end
@Venemofthe888, idk, ask Jarrett himself. I'd love to know why too.
@@brandonpage7087at this time I couldn’t tell you but previous to this Jarret had his reign of terror because he and his investors were kinda terrified of a champion going to wwe as the champ during this time, you gotta remember wwe was scalping all the top talent or trying to at the very least
Yeah, but as long as said champ was under contract, WWE couldn't poach them, so there's still really no excuse for Jarrett's reign of terror.
@@brandonpage7087 well yeah I agree and he definitely could’ve dropped it during this time however early tna had a lot of short term contracts and optional contracts that allowed wrestlers to pretty much quit at any time I believe the main reason for this was to not have to pay out people you fired (could be wrong) and no offense to rhyno because he seems like a great guy but wwe would’ve totally convinced him to break the contract
I was at that BCW show Jarrett won the title from Raven at. It was at the Ciociaro Club where they had my high school graduation. I definitely remember seeing Bolen at BCW shows in the upper card, but I had no idea who he was. Fun fact I've seen A1 working at Costco in Windsor a few times in the last couple months. Dude is still in great shape.
This era of tna is so special to me. Every single Saturday I watched it because my dad recorded it Thursday nights. Shark Boy, Rhyno, Abyss, Jay Lethal, they all hold special places in my wrestling memory. I love tna.
Appreciate that minor 30 Rock reference at the beginning there, Zane.
You once called JJ the most employed man in wrestling history and I don't think I can ever stop thinking about that
24:03 WXO Reference right there~
I just wanna say Brian, that use of the WXO fuckup "THESE TWO GUYS" made me laugh so hard I nearly choked on my water. Great callback, great bit, really nailed together an already fantastic video for me lol
I thought exactly the same, no need for the rumble match, should of just made it the winner of the monsters ball.
I do wonder if Abyss/Hardy recovered early, so Sabu didn't have to take the pin?
Every once in a while, you forget how quick and flashy Daniels and Styles were when they were young. They bith matured so well that you forget that they werent always as limited as they are now
in my mind they're always those rapid sparky rivals of the X-Division
@@pendafen7405 often imitated never duplicated
And Pat Kenney(Simon Diamond) looks So Much Different NOW in 2024 . Its literally two different looking people.
Seemingly every Slapnuts match has to be an overbooked clusterfuck win or lose. Seriously he had a worse reign of terror than Triple H
It’s a Russo fueled Reign of Terror
@@zlinedavidThe scary thing about this night is that Russo wasn't booking. He left at the end of 2004, yet his essence affected everyone in TNA.
A fucking Werewolf Bar Mitzvah reference. Didn't expect that in the opening.
Thank you for the "Werewolf Bar Mitzvah" reference. 🤣
Men will become wolves TNA predicted Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards debut in company 9 years early
LMAO, yes. Eddie has gone on to have a stellar career in TNA, becoming a grandslam champion, in the process! I'm also really loving what they're currently doing with him, in the system stable.
Can’t forget Nigel McGuinness too 😆
I'm enjoying the TNA love lately. These recaps are fascinating.
TNA OWNS SPIKE!!
2005 TNA was one of thr best years for TNA
Yes, 2009-10 as well
Fun to see a review of this show. I have ordered 4 TNA shows in my life. Back in the weekly era I ordered the show with DLo vs Jarrett and the famous 1 cent Bsst of show. And in the traditional PPV era I ordered this show and 2 years later Sacrifice.
Overall I felt pretty satisfied with this show. And I still have this show burned on a DVD-R disc.
Sonny Siaki wrestling in floaties so he can swim away from the crawly thing.
But don't look at his ass
This is a special PPV for me because I got this on DVD at the first and only TNA house show I had ever been. Was apart of the Brown Bag special with the Man himself Don West (RIP) selling them. It was such a cool show to get.
I never understood why the wrestlers being hungry, dehydrated, and sleep deprived would be a selling point for a match. That sounds boring and sad.
Sonny "Don't Look At My Ass" Siaki should've won the TNA title.
"These two guys!"
2:28 They really should have used wolves and ran with an Altered Beast theme. WELCOME TO YOUR DOOM!
Fantastic 30 Rock reference with Werewolf Bar Mitzvah
Interesting fact Elix Skipper went on to manage a McDonald’s in my hometown
Would I be insane for thinking this is TNA's equivalent to WrestleMania X-Seven? I love this show so much, it was really just _peak_ TNA during its golden era. Might just be me, but I thought it was really solid back-to-back
How nobody ever pulled the trigger on Monty Brown/Marcus Cor Von is beyond me. That guy had megastar written all over him.
Hated that he had to leave the business. He lost his sister and retired to raise her kids. Great human being.
Had he stayed in TNA, he probably would have been a megastar!!
He a charisma like The Rock without it coming across as a copycat.
TNA bound for glory 2005 was an amazing PPV i remember this like it was yesterday AMW as heels were awesome I'm so glad brian is reviewing this PPV the team 3D funeral is easily my favorite segment in TNA history i loved gail kim with AMW great review brian.
Team 3D and Aces&Eights both had funerals
I was there! It was such a fun night!
Jeez that jump Hardy made almost made me shit myself thinking he didn’t make it…..(even tho I very well know the man is alive today💀)
I remember when I was first getting into TNA, The Naturals were by far my favorite tag team. Perfect team name, great finisher, and two guys that could just go at a high level.
To this day I still can’t believe that they didn’t take off.
Love the Polynesian dance routine that Samoa Joe had. Would love to see something like that again if the Roman/Rock match happens next year!
if Romes shows up in trad garb and does the Siva Tau so many ovaries will explode💦
Great stuff as always brother Brian, what is the next review gonna be? You usually mention the next at the end but didn’t here
Awesome review as always
The X falling off in the Ultimate X reminded me of the Kazarian/Christian Cage ladder match where they were fighting over a contract, the paper fell of in the final third and so the match turned into them fighting for the clipboard
Cool review as always Brian 💯
How has no one in wrestling made The Pounce their finish since Monty’s early retirement? Like I’ve seen people do it as a high spot but it should be a finisher. It’s one of the few moves that hasn’t been done to death in wrestling
Are we sure Siaki wasn't trying to be The Smoke (the Rock cosplayer from WEW)?
I was at that show in Windsor Ontario, it was definitely a surprise. That was not actually a TNA House Show, it was under the Border City Wrestling name.
If you like Elix Skipper Brian I recommend watching TNA’s assylum years and their early ESPN/Spike days from 2002-2005 that’s when TNA were pushing elix. He held the tag team titles 3 times with Low Ki and Christopher daniels. Was a pretty solid heel. Had plenty of great matches with daniels as a tag partner (including that hurricarana off the top of the cage you love) and when he turned face he had a great feud with daniels over who the better member of triple X was including a TREMENDOUS match against Daniels for the X division title during Daniels 6 month reign you mentioned in this video in 2005.
I would love for you to cover the Black scorpion storyline. I remember it very well, the NWA/WCW was my favorite promotion. I remember hoping that the Black scorpion would have turned out to be the ultimate warrior.
Love the Werewolf Bar Mitzvah reference at 2:26
“THESE TWO GUYS!”
That genuinely scared the living s*** out of me…
My god the memories being unlocked seeing 2005 TNA. The Bently bounce, The Alpha Male, random Sonny Siaki and El Tornillo matches. What a time
Lmao rhyno being on the pre show when hes supposed to be in solitary confinement for the monsters ball match is hilarious
by far my fav tna ppv of all time. the jeff/abyss spot prob changed my life.
6:13 Thats not a spinebuster, thats the cab driver slam, the cab driver slam
What?
I remember this show like it was yesterday. Absolutely amazing show and as a huge fan of Rhyno, I marked out so hard for him crushing every match that night.
Skipper didn't work out because he didn't have Gilligan with him 😂😂😂
How old are you, 60?
@marcohavokkhaos are you 5?
bad-dum-ba! that's a good one.
This was the first TNA PPV I bought… and it was love at first sight in 05. I had seen them on Fox Sports earlier that year and seen they were moving to Spike. This was a big show for me.
