Appreciate you showing how everything is hooked up. I wasn't sure if I needed a separate 5v power supply, or if the USB cable would give the 5v to all the buttons and the joystick.
Would you know how to set up Mame games like Pac-Man and frogger to play 2 players using two different joysticks? I am able to play simultaneously Mame games like Mario bros but when I try and play 2 players in Pac-Man or frogger only I joystick seems to work for both player 1 and 2? Any ideas on how to get both joysticks working for play one and player 2? I bought the same encoders and joysticks.
I ordered a set - exactly same button, control but the USB decoder only comes with two pin ports rather than 3. how do I turn on the LED on the buttons then?
Any updates on this project? How are the sticks and buttons holding up? Any problems yet? I see I can still get this same set on amazon for $68CA now but want to make sure it actually lasted and worked as well as you thought it would.. Thanks
I think I replied to someone else. The buttons are alright. The sticks... I def think investing in slightly better sticks might be a good idea. The arcade still works great though!
the kit i bought was for a semitsu joystick , that has the 4 prongs, my stick looks like yours though which is just 1 plugin for it, ill keep you posted.
Could you show us how to make sure that the player 1 doesn't control player 2 and vice versa... I have the same identical button kits and I'm having issues with retroarch having controller clash.. Basically, player 1 is setup.. I go to configure player 2 and it overrides player one and vice versa. Any ideas?
that...is a new one... I've had to set up mine fully twice. And I built one for my brother using xbox controllers. I've never run into this issue. I'm not even exactly sure what you mean... I just plug in player one into the top left hand usb slot on the pi and then plug in player 2 under. I proceed to configure both (it should ask you to configure player 1 on first boot...I usually just plug in player one). Then I go to the menu to configure a new controller and hold any button on player 2. and configure the buttons.
I was looking at these same ones, emailed the seller and they said each PCB board only needs 500mA to light up all the LEDs... RaspberryPi3 if using two USB ports will provide 600mA each... so 'should' work... but I noticed you said you had issues when connected to the RaspPi being underpowered... did that get sorted? did you have to use a powered hub?
Sorry, my mistake... I think my plans changed a bit and will do a console and each joystick box will plug into a hub... that way I can opt for LED or not. Sadly, buttons I like have no LED, the LED ones that I kinda like are in China, and not been having luck with stuff shipping from China within a reasonable amount of time. :D
does this work on the Nintendo Switch? I'm wanting to make a FightStick that can work on my pc AND Switch. I REALLY want to avoid opening up an actual controller and using its board. I'm afraid of screwing up the soldering process.
Thanks for posting the video! but 2 questions, does this work on windows 8? and also can you use the "start" buttons from the first and second controllers as a "1p" "2p" buttons? i just finished building the cabinet so now this is the only thing i have left to do -_-
Zarin Sotelo I still need to configure. I imagine it would in Windows 8. for using buttons to select players it would depend on what you are using it with
Livlos k will let you know how it tests but I'm more impressed with the speed wanted to call out their rediculas email but they where soo good at shipping
Does it work while playing TEKKEN 7 on STEAM ? I want to build one . But I'm not sure whether it will work on that or not! Can you please clarify my doubt ?
Stryker A. Wolfe well it says that it's a complete version as well. All of the downloadable content. That's always a plus man. I'm still worried about Street Fighter though. Capcom and their damn shity PC ports are killing me.
Livlos to the point where you'd have chosen a different set for your arcade? I'm just about to start building mine and would appreciate any advice from a fellow canuck.
FH 6688846993 LIVE sorry to hear..guess I got lucky. I did hear a lot of defects with these. I'm actually debating ordering better sticks... the buttons are fine but the sticks are feeling a bit cheap
Hi guys first post on here so bare with me..... So built arcade cab running pi3 model B with dell 19 inch monitor and zippy sticks of ebay with zero delay usb controllers, Xcade B19c model as the cab and 18mm t moulding. So everything went together swell.....up in no time, I connected all the joysticks and buttons on a daisy for illumination and checked the functionality of the the sticks and buttons via usb as generic controllers on the laptop.... every thing went well on so fitted them into the control station. I download the terminator build of here at first and it dawned the VGA to HDMI leads i had were not good enough though i could hear everything couldn't get visual (pressed a free buttons on the arcade). so 5 days later go the adaptor which worked well, but joysticks were all over the place and no configuation could be done even with a keyboard? So I clean the image and tried again.....same issue joystick everywhere, so I decieded the image might not have the config file in..? i dont know so downloaded the back to the future one again which i knew had the set up on power up a s seen in the video.!! to my dismay and to my insane verge of smashing this cab up I call to you guys..... is there something ive done wrong or pressed when there was no visual that has stopped my joysticks working(which i have set back in laptop and still work perfectly)..... I have plugged a usb keyboard in it wont do anything than let me press F4 to go to command prompt but I have no idea when things get this dead. Thanks for your time i would appreciate any help. Scott
No image might be boot priority. I made another video, but if you want to test to be 100% sure..make sure the screen is fully on before you boot the pi up, if that works fine, its just boot configs in the pi itself. As per joysticks I had issues with an image, I stuck to images done my "mad little pixel" on all builds..and have never had any issues configuring arcade stick and game pads. PM me if you still have issues and Ill see if I can help.
Ive been given this information.....however Im pretty much a Noob..... SSH in (github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/ssh), run sudo ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie-setup.sh and go to Emulation Station configuration via Manage Packages -> Core Packages -> emulationstation -> Configuration or Configuration / Tools -> emulationstation and choose the option to Clear/Reset Emulation Station input configuration (All packages with configuration appear in Configuration / Tools when installed)
man do you have instructions to this? i have no idea how the wiring works and the kit that i got came with a shitty double sided paper that doesnt really explain how to wire. and going online was just about as useless as watching all these videos. you guys dont really explain the wiring or show how you did it. i cant figure it out.
It's been a long while since I made this vid, and the bits are actual sitting at my brothers house...but from memory... If this is the same kit you got its really quite straightforward. The white wire goes into the joystick and the other end into the PCB slot for the joystick (it will only fit in 1 spot). But buttons, I just looked at the instructions and plugged the wires in accordingly. the other end (that goes into the PCB) should go into what ever PCB slot...doesn't REALLY matter, but again they are labeled. Wire it up, plug into a windows machine like I did and test in the joystick set up program. Worse that can happen is you plugged something in wrong. I've had comments about these coming with defective bits too.. If like me this is to use with a raspberry pie, the set up will ask you which button is which anyways.
well honestly i just eye balled it and now im having an issue with the pi3 being under powered. i keep getting a yellow lightning bolt when trying to use the led joysticks.
Appreciate you showing how everything is hooked up. I wasn't sure if I needed a separate 5v power supply, or if the USB cable would give the 5v to all the buttons and the joystick.
Sweet man. I just ordered the exact package. I'm excited to see your future videos on this project if you have finished it yet. Cheers. subscribed.
Is it possible to make the leds activate with a button push? I want to use this board for a pressure sensitive controller
are there wire extensions for this kit

Can you post a pic, link, or video of the plug in diagram?
Is it possible to hook up a spinner with this configuration?
I ordered those too, did you expirience any lag pressing those buttons?
Is it just simple plug and play? Or do you gotta install some other do hickeys?
Plug and play
I ordered a set - exactly same button, control but the USB decoder only comes with two pin ports rather than 3. how do I turn on the LED on the buttons then?
the 5v its from usb? or need external power?
Any updates on this project? How are the sticks and buttons holding up? Any problems yet? I see I can still get this same set on amazon for $68CA now but want to make sure it actually lasted and worked as well as you thought it would.. Thanks
I think I replied to someone else. The buttons are alright. The sticks... I def think investing in slightly better sticks might be a good idea. The arcade still works great though!
i just bought a xin mo and sadly it doesn't have connector for my Sanwa fight joysticks.
Would you agree this kit works with sanwa?
davy Smith I don't think it does. I was looking at a sanwa stick...the connector is different
the kit i bought was for a semitsu joystick , that has the 4 prongs, my stick looks like yours though which is just 1 plugin for it, ill keep you posted.
How do you get the leds to light up?
it is powered by the board itself...if you have all the wires properly installed on the buttons they will light up
Could you show us how to make sure that the player 1 doesn't control player 2 and vice versa...
I have the same identical button kits and I'm having issues with retroarch having controller clash..

Fastest way? Unplug both and re-connect at the desired sequence (your 1st, etc)
Any updates on durability or quality? I'm thinking of getting one of these kits. Your video is much appreciated!
adraxis sorry can't say yet. the cabinet is nearly done...but not quite yet. I'll be posting some videos once it is
Please let me know if the pin with the red paint on it is positive or negative! Mine work but are not lighting up.. thank you in advance
Joseph Trezza positive of course
I got this when I got an entire box of my raspberry pi When I celebrated my 8-year-old's birthday
I didnt say so...someone commented that. I havent tried with the pi3 yet, but had the same info as you. At worse I will just run a powered usb hub
my plans alreayd had a usb hub in there to be able to plug in controllers as needed anyways
does this work on the Nintendo Switch? I'm wanting to make a FightStick that can work on my pc AND Switch. I REALLY want to avoid opening up an actual controller and using its board. I'm afraid of screwing up the soldering process.
MrMomobot highly doubt it and don't have a switch to test it sorry
Thanks for posting the video! but 2 questions, does this work on windows 8? and also can you use the "start" buttons from the first and second controllers as a "1p" "2p" buttons? i just finished building the cabinet so now this is the only thing i have left to do -_-

have you tried a raspberry pi zero? I think it will work but need to test it
dudds6699 I have not no. only fully tested on a pi 3
Livlos k will let you know how it tests but I'm more impressed with the speed wanted to call out their rediculas email but they where soo good at shipping
did you test it now? how did it went with the pi zero?
Golden2Talon not yet I need to setup a board for the buttons but retro pie works really well on the zero
Does it work while playing TEKKEN 7 on STEAM ? I want to build one . But I'm not sure whether it will work on that or not! Can you please clarify my doubt ?
i wanna built one too, Did you end up making one? i wanna buy a arcade stick but the custom duties are going to cost a lot
If the game only supports Xbox controller then you will need a program to adapt d input to x input but it should work
Stryker A. Wolfe . I thought it would just be seen as a generic USB controller by Windows/steam games.
Stryker A. Wolfe. Well damn. Hummm.. I just bought the steam version yesterday and my four zero delay USB encoders just got here today.
Stryker A. Wolfe well it says that it's a complete version as well. All of the downloadable content. That's always a plus man. I'm still worried about Street Fighter though. Capcom and their damn shity PC ports are killing me.
Does it work on windows 10?
Leandro SF it did for me
Hello, does this pcb work on ps3 or PS4?
No clue as I will never pay for sony products. However...I highly doubt it
Yes it does. Hope that helps
After using them for a while..... What's the quality like?
The buttons are fine the sticks could be better...
Livlos to the point where you'd have chosen a different set for your arcade? I'm just about to start building mine and would appreciate any advice from a fellow canuck.
@@MrAdamturco yeah everything else is great but if I did it over I'd prob have gotten better sticks. These get the job done...but...just barely
Livlos thanks bud. Great videos on the arcade.
neither my pc or pi recognize this encoder, any help?
FH 6688846993 LIVE defective probably?
Livlos I wired up a usb cable to rule that out, Im going to order different encoders.

my joystick doesn't seem to register every direction. I'm kinda mad!
Adam Herbstreit return it? might just be defective
Livlos I am. just makes me sad. it was missing 2 cables as well. it was an led stick.
Adam Herbstreit :( that sucks
Livlos totally. hopefully the new one I ordered will work and have all the cables needed.

MoK86 hummm..haven't tried it with the pi yet
Did you figure it out? Do you know if the positive pin is the one with the red paint or is it negative. My buttons work but no lights.
