Hey guys until I have a better setup I’m using this board in my virtual pinball machine. One problem I noticed is that if you get extra long cables (hx2.54 3-pin) cables for the buttons with leds the buttons will not work. I’m not sure if this has something to do with the way the board works or if it is a rising state on the button. Any thoughts?
@@retrolizardscustomarcades I see. So you can set it? Cause in the video i got the impression, that its not possible on the pi. My buttons arrive today then ill set them up. Are they responsive? Cause im affraid they want be any good.
I'm looking at using the EG starts 2 player kit, but am having trouble figuring out the arcade OS part, or using my old PC for it. What software do you use that is compatible? Great video
Hey Retro Lizard I have a modded 1up with pie, I'm trying to use the two controllers and a wireless usb controller, problem is that the pie keeps trying to make the usb controller player 1??? Can you help?
Hey retro, modded my NBA jam exactly like yours. The info I'm looking for and seem to missing is, how am I going to power on and off this cabinet since we are removing the stock power switch and volume switch.
So this might be a dumb question, but where do the encoder boards plug into to get power? I’m trying to do a upgrade but I can’t figure out the power for the boards?
@@retrolizardscustomarcades thanks for the reply. Just now seeing it because my notifications were turned off but hey I did exactly as you said anyways. But I subscribed to you instantly because of this tutorial but also more of your builds too because they are inspiring

Hi, eg stars works with led blinky?
No. Ipac works with led Blinky.
What is the purpose of the 5v red slots? Is it powered by usb?
It is. If you have buttons that require a separate power then you can plug into that slot.
the quality is good? industrias lorenzo?

EG starts uses direct input. No software needed to run on anything.
Can you add a trackball to the eg starts kit when using a raspberry pi?
Of course. The trackball plugs in via usb to the Pi.
How do you get power to all 4 usb encoders? Is there a special product or power supply? Or do you plug them into the raspberry pi?
These buttons plug into the raspberry Pi for power.
@@retrolizardscustomarcades the raspberry pi I have only has two usb slots how do you plug the other two in?
@@Jerry251 you need a different raspberry Pi. The one I’m using in the video is a Pi3B+
@@Jerry251 the Pi4 also has 4 ports
Ohh ok thank you.
Hey Retro Lizard I have a modded 1up with pie, I'm trying to use the two controllers and a wireless usb controller, problem is that the pie keeps trying to make the usb controller player 1??? Can you help?
Because every time you turn on the wireless it’s switching inputs. Use wired only.

Thanks man
Yeah but why don’t the lights work?
Not sure what you’re referring to man. When you plug these specific buttons into the encoder and plug the usb into the pc or pi, they light up.
