Heyo everyone!
Here we go, the last "Crystallized" track from INFINITE ECLIPSE, the theme of Naegissa, the High-Priestess of Nightmares and the Voice of Nerath, is here!
This song features the incredible vocalist Merethe Soltvedt - an award winning vocalist, singer songwriter, recording artist, performing artist, and composer born and raised in Norway.
Merethe sings on over a dozen "Two Steps From Hell" albums between 2006 and present day, and is considered the main female voice of the successful music producer duo.
She performed with "Two Steps From Hell" at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in 2013, as well as in Prague in 2018, and is looking forward to being part of the European Tour in 2022 (and so do I, can't wait to see her perform at the TSFH concert in Belgium next year! :D).
Like Ayzat's theme, the track is sung in a fantasy language, this time created by Merethe!
"Naegissa is the High-Priestess of Nightmares and the Voice of Nerath. She’s the only one to be able to hear the Words of the goddess directly inside her mind without being overwhelmed by fear, distress and madness.
Her family has been follower of Nerath since the Ancient Times and was waiting for that day. When it came, the current scion of the first High-Priestess was Naegissa.
After the resurrection of the two goddesses, Naegissa was changed into a Crystallized. However, being the High-Priestess and the Voice of Nerath made her very different from the Nightmares’ army - she now have a very small fraction of Nerath’s power she just inherited and, compared to Nightmare Moon, Naegissa knows where the power comes from and can perfectly master it, especially since a goddess’ magic is way different from any other creatures’ magic (the mere essence is different, as a goddess’ magic is pure life-force).
To give a “ratio”, Naegissa’s magic abilities are now nine to ten times more powerful than Nightmare Moon’s."
The Crystallized form of Naegissa is more impressive than any other Crystallized, being the High-Priestess.
While she was originally a batpony (her wings now being crystalline and a bit translucent are a bit bigger than an actual batpony pair of wings), she now has a horn looking like a dark-blue ice stalagmite.
Her navy peony fur is now lightly strewn by crystals, sometimes purple, sometimes blue.
Her eyes are really similar to Nightmare Moon’s, though she has a tribal crescent moon in her left eye.
She is horrifyingly calm, doesn’t express any emotion excessively and keep a stoic face.
Her perfectly made half-long stormy grey mane has some thin light blue locks, shining like diamonds. She has a very stylized bun, pierced with two long crystal thorns - one blue, one purple.
Her tail is quite long, having the same colors and locks than her mane.
Her hooves are totally crystallized (royal/dark blue), sometimes slightly glowing due to the power Naegissa withhold. She has a strange aura surrounding her, some sort of barely visible white smoke, like infinitely small drops of ice.
While she doesn’t make them always appear, she can create out of thin air two big dragon claws of crystal, floating around her, which she can control as her will.
She wears what remains of her High-Priestess cloth, though most of it is pierced by the several crystals coming out of Naegissa’s body. Now it is only an anchor grey vest old by a black jewelry which looks quite similar to the symbol she has on her left eye.

You can see where the motives lie with Naegissa. She only wishes for those to worship Nerath. Azyat tho, wishes for her enemie's blood to spill for Aqasha. A great counter. Both being imposing, and fearful, with different intent
Nice foreboding intro. In comparison to Ayzat's theme, which is bold and in-your-face, Naegissa is more akin to singing something akin to a lullaby to the listener, which in the context of Naegissa her mistress, Nerath, the Goddess of Nightmares, makes perfect sense. In addition, while Ayzat is preaching about how you will fall to Aqasha's might in very harsh tones, Naegissa is saying the same thing, but in a completely different word structure that instead of feeling harsh, the listener should feel reassured and safe to 'sleep' under the control of Nerath. Very good contrast between the themes of the Molten Star and the Crystallized Night.

Heh, don't mess with Naegissa she'll consume the light of Ayzat's power rather quickly.
The fact that she can make those dragon claws materialize tells me she can do many things with them, like weaving dark spells and forming any weapon or armament needed out of pure crystallized darkness while she merely stands tall and unmoved. Good luck getting through such defenses, can imagine her being the second to last boss on Nerath’s side in an rpg set in this world. And they say ponies can’t be badass like this, hah.
Shivering limbs spread icy frost into the air. Landing gently into Pristine hoofprints that vaguely sparkle with minuscule particles of crystal. A trail of shimmering cavities within the very land.
A ghostly figure continues the path as she steps towards her duties. Elegantly trampling down each frozen crystal of snow beneath her hooves.
She speaks for the nightmares. Her voice as cold as the land she now resides in, unforgiving and unchanging. Her words as sharp as her hide, deadly and commanding.
For she speaks only the goddesses will. And she command the eternal nightmare unto the earth.
That is a good interpretation of Naegissa

And after the last enemy has fallen
the last line of the song:

You know the army will awaken when its master needs it. Until then... they sleep.

actually, i think the nerath song would be used to summon the army and then this song would be used as a victory anthem and laying-to-rest song ending, as you said, when the last line commands the army to return to their former dormancy

this had been so worth the wait! beautiful, powerful and mysterious with a cold calmness which is a stark contrast to Ayzat and Aqasha who had passion, fire and a certain madness to them.

Well, to be fair, Celestia was holding back because shes didn't want to fight and hurt her sister, which is WHY she used the elements of harmony instead. So we don't really know if Nightmare mood could have defeated celestia or not.
well, not to talk ill of celestia but she did lose to chrysilis in a 1 on 1 so maybe she instanly resorted to using the elements of harmony because she knew it wasn't worth trying

IE isn't really fully following the show. In this series, Nightmare Moon and Daybreaker are equally powerful, and so are Ayzat and Naegissa!
I also wouldn't say that Daybreaker in the show was stronger than Nightmare Moon because the only time we actually saw them fight was when Daybreaker hit Nightmare Moon earlier and she fell due to bad timing and the real "who is stronger" got interrupted by Celestia

Edit: It’s so beautiful!! I love how different it is from Ayzat’s theme. While Ayzat shows off her power and destructive nature in her song, Naegissa’s theme is more haunting and eerily calm. It sounds like something I would hear tribal people singing.

I really love this track! The lyrics kind of remind me of faroese... which made me remember the song Trøllabundin by
Eivør, and now I can't keep them apart xD. I almost prefer the priestesses' songs because of the unique languages to each of them. The unique languages also really show just how much you care about every composition, there is so much passion that you can feel as a listener that I wonder how you are able to function with this much passion in your body xD.

I am so curious how this war will end, both sides seem equally powerful to destroy their entire home, given both Priestesses and goddesses with their army. Perhaps it will be a miracle if some pony or creature emerges to end the war.
Hint: what's currently happing, the awakening of the Goddesses and all, is just the prequel of the series. The main story is happening 300 years afterwards!

Well, it seems to be faster but it's mainly because Nerath's theme was delayed from mid-April to end of June, compared to Naegissa's theme who was delayed by only a week. If everything went well (which never happens), there would have been 3,5 months appart from both releases
I dunno why, but this song REALLY brought my mind to Bloodborne. This is some chilling, utterly frightening chanting lyricism and the music itself fits it so well. Another great piece here!

Bruh. As an average Aqasha enjoyer, I do have to admit that Naegissa is beautiful - better than Ayzat, unfortunately. But I guess to even things out, Aqasha looks way better than Nerath (at least for me).
Looks aren't everything, however. With the help of Ayzat, Aqasha's going to vaporize herself some moon crystal ass silent protagonist style - you know, because she doesn't talk... like the Doomslayer! Hehe. Nerath and Naegissa better start hauling ass when they start hearing Doom music 'cause Aqasha's gonna rip and tear until it is done.

She has such passion for her Goddess and her appearance gives an intimidating aura of seriousness.
