The very much awaited ''Nerath's theme'' is FINALLY HERE!
Making that track was a rollercoaster as many, MANY things happened in both my side and Koa's side. However, as I will always say: HEALTH is the most important thing to everyone!
And I'd lie if I say that I wasn't bothered and pressured with the billions of ''when's Nerath's theme?'' coming to me. But, anyway, here it is, here's the theme of the other Goddess of INFINITE ECLIPSE!
Big thanks to Koa for her amazing lyrics and vocals! She did an outstanding job, imo, so I hope you'll like this song!
''Nerath, Goddess of Nightmares, is the sister and nemesis of Aqasha.
She's a horrifying divinity and calamity, darker than a moonless night and more terrifying than the worst nightmare one could ever have. Her power is based on ice, illusion, paranoia and any kind of mind manipulation.
Like her sister, we can't see any form of emotion on her face, her piercing and cold gaze inflicting an unspeakable fear to those who cross it.
Her dark blue fur is covered by crystals of shades varying from purple to royal blue. Some directly attached to her body, some floating around her.
Her crystal wings were impressive, giving off a kind of whitish aura because of the extremely low temperature coming off of those.
Her tail and mane were pure black, looking like some sort of smoke with some sort of purple-blue shades quite dark, with some infinitely small shards of crystals inside it.
Her slightly dislocated horn was crystalline.
Everything she touches with her hooves is covered with dark blue crystal. Two small fangs stick out of her mouth.
Nerath is the embodiment of nightmare and terror, which sows madness and fear. She is inevitable.''
Koa sings as Naegissa, the High-priestess of Nerath, chanting about her goddess who finally awoken and ready to conquer the entire world and beyond.
Nightmares, terrors, whispers and crystallized lands are the only things she leave behind her when anything crosses her path.
Her mouth is Nerath’s words and her actions are Nerath’s will - she's at the head of the Crystallized.
While Aqasha and the Molten are more focused on power and destruction, the vibe of Nerath and the Crystallized is more about horror, whisper and madness.
I tried to detail a bit more the lore and put more in context who are the two Goddesses, to describe what kind of being they are and - more importantly - to describe how dangerous and powerful they are.

Your mind's still processing the last vestiges of your sleep, the dream itself, hence it kinda "materialize" some aspects as if they were tangible. At the same time, you cannot move your muscles (not even your eyeballs) until it's finished.

Yeah, Aqasha's song sounds more like a display of raw power, made to intimidate who hears it into submission, it sounds strong, like it brings forth your most animalistic reactions. Nerath's, on the other hand, sounds like it's suppose to induce fear and inflict madness into whoever hears it, making the person give in to the dark madness and submit to her will, it sounds cold, calculated, like she's playing with your mind.
I'm maybe overanalyzing too much, but that's legit how it sounds to me.

so uh, i had a thought. i vaguely remember hearing nicknames for King Sombra when i was deep into the fandom, but now i am not entirely certain if they were actually a thing. but, wasn't he called the king of nightmares or shadows or something like that? also, he can basically trap you in your own mind, forcing you to confront your darkest fears for as long as he wants.
was he somehow corrupted by Nerath in this? also, would he be a part of her army considering how eerily similar their powers are if he was alive?

I don't know, the entire thing sounds similar to depression, which would be a pretty effective nightmare. I don't think the nightmare the song speaks about is being turned to crystal...no, it's an eternal nightmare by the mind. But if that's really what you want, that answer might help

@@Dreamheart101 Too late, already chronically depressed. But I sure as hell wanna enjoy the kickass scenery of pinks and blues, night skies, and northern lights. Plus the calmness combined with talk of madness gives me more a sense being mind-broken with terror and agony until you have no choice but to feel comfort in being loyal to Nerath. Also it doesn't sound like the crystal army are actual ponies, but soldiers formed from crystals, meaning they inflict fear rather than are victims of it.

The song perfectly depicts how I would imagine the Goddess of Nightmares to be: simple but elegant while being terrifyingly beautiful at the same time. And with the combination of Jyc's musical score in addition to Koa's stellar voice and lyrical composition, this song is easily one of the catchiest and probably one of the best songs Jyc had made as of now. This theme sounds amazing again! It was 100% worth the wait!
I love how it really feels like they're in your head. While Aqasha feels like she is standing in front of you just blazing fire, here Nerath feels like she's so close without being able to pinpoint her and you're hearing her in your head.
Both themes fit their goddesses so well and you can feel how equally powerful yet different they are.

Entity: Nerath (tentative). Designation: THREAT ENTITY 02.
Threat Level: Extreme.
Nerath is the name used in reference to the entity that Princess Luna/Nightmare Moon became after undergoing a Type-1 Transfiguration/Apotheosis Event, following her defeat by the recently-created Allied Forces. Her T-1 TAE occurred at the same time as her sister's, forcing Allied Command to declare Case MELCHIOR and enact Project HOPE.
There are few - if any - confirmed instances of Nerath/Threat Entity 02 speaking. It seems that like her sister, she has a priestess to talk for her; in this case, Naegissa (information on whom is still being compiled).
In another similarity to Threat Entity 01, when TE 02 appeared, all ponies who had previously fought for Princess Luna or Nightmare Moon on that particular battlefield experienced Type-2 Physical/Metaphysical Transfiguration/Reanimation Events. Whereas Aqasha's PMTRE subordinate entities are called "the Molten," Nerath's minions are referred to as "the Crystalized."
Despite their similarities, the two demons have shown nothing but animosity and hatred for each other, and when they are not trying to murder every non-converted being in the area, they are fighting each other.
All attempts to kill Nerath with close-combat weapons, infantry-scale projectile weapons, magically-enhanced weaponry, spell attacks, artillery fire, or magical artillery fire have met with failure. Very few ponies who met her in battle are alive- and even fewer are sane.
Part 2:
Nerath's observed powers are evidently based around the principles of ice, crystallization, illusions, and mental manipulations. Allied Command (ALCOM) forces in her vicinity will jump at shadows, attacking imaginary enemies or turning on each other. Often, the first sign of Nerath's direct presence is the whispering in one's head. The Crystallized take after their leader (creator?), driving their enemies to madness before killing them, though they can also reconfigure their gem-like bodies, fashioning weapon morphs out of their crystalline physiologies. Those who make eye contact with Nerath feel a deeply-rooted, indescribable terror upon doing so. Emotional and psychological breakdowns often follow.
Nerath's wings and horn are covered with crystals whose color ranges from royal blue to a reddish purple. A group of these crystals also encircles her neck. Her body temperature is significantly lower than that of her surrounding environment, causing her to be surrounded by a whitish aura of condensing and freezing ice. Dark blue crystals rapidly cover anything that her hooves touch, spreading out like a fungal mat.
Nerath and her subordinate entities are believed to be responsible for at least 22,000 fatalities, with thousands more currently hospitalized for mental and physical damage inflicted by the aforementioned. Many, it seems, will likely never recover.
Veterans of combat with Threat Entity 02's forces report a feeling that Nerath's victory is inevitable, that nothing can stop her. She leaves madness and death in her wake. They don't know if those thoughts are their own, or if Nerath whispered them into their heads...
Addendum: Following the conclusion of Project HOPE, Nerath, Naegissa, and the Crystalized were last seen engaging Aqasha, Ayzat, the Motlen, Discord, and Sombra. All contact with them was lost once the shield was raised. Their current status is unknown, but mages have detected something attacking the shield from inside. Countermeasures are being prepared.

While Aqasha's theme holds to a heavily militant or legion-esque motif, Nerath's makes me think more of an illusionist or dark magic user (like Circe or Hecate). That's just me.
Jyc, I should note that you were undoubtedly able to convey the difference in the characters of these Goddesses. One is as calm as the pulse of a dead man, and the second is as unpredictable as a forest fire.
My respect to Kоa, who was able to take an octave higher than the snowy summit of Mount Everest, because to remove the top from her vocals, you will need an equalizer five light-years long)

Another masterpiece. I like, how different both songs are. And they show us something about sister's personality. Aqasha, which is more emotional, brighter, like an vulcano. On the other hand, Nerath is much more cold, and her words show, that she is a true manipulator.

While Aquasha's song gave off a feeling of absolute power and destruction, fast and moving, unstopping, like lava flowing and consuming all in its way. Nerath's song starts with this feeling of a bad omen, a bad feeling creeping up your back, slowly driving one into paranoia and then when one is wrapped into this paranoia and madness one finally sees the cause of this bad feeling this fear and one can't run, frozen, no crystalized in horror and the only thing one can do in the end is bow to her power.

Dear god, this is terrifying...which fits given the theme of this character haha. I really love the chilling vibe of her design and this song. Once again I am saddened that this is how things ended up for Celestia and Luna, goodness they're dealing with legit eldritch beings at this point aren't they? Nightmare moon is more of a snarky type of evil but Nerath has more of a stern tactic. no time to fool around when it comes to Nerath

She will flow into the hearts of our kin, every home and shelter filled with her icy will.
A single soul flees through the wintry fog that envelopes their town. Running from the horde of nightmarish beings that sprung from the earth, bodies made of crystal bone that shone in the glow of the northern lights above.
The soul weaved and dodged from monster to horror that crosses their path. Until at last they stilled to a startling halt. Hooves of crystal stood in their vision, dread mirrored in every faucet. They could not move. Their mind overwhelm with a frozen fear. Their gaze rose up, slowly witnessing the being before them. Until finally their eyes met with another's. And the soul fell limp to the ground. Heart having torn from its own senseless beats. The last thing it witnessed were eyes devoid of emotion. Of any form of desire beyond to terrorize all living beings.

tbh I think it'd be worse to piss off Nerath. Aqasha will kill you, most likely in a gruesome and painful way, but Nerath won't. She'll torture you until you're begging her to kill you, and even then she won't. You'll have an eternity of nightmares

Well this song proves one does not need to be loud and angry to be intense. In many ways, calm intensity is more terrifying than intensity of anger. You never know what it might do and not sure if you could even stop it.

YEESS! I've been waiting for this!! Finally! I love how Nerath is all calm and deadly. While her sis is like I'M GOING TO BURN DOWN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!! Nerath is like Yeah, I'm doing the same but on a calmer level, my sister is quite the drama queen. Love it! It's always the scariest villains that are the scariest! This sounds a lot like Night Queen and it's awesome! Well done!

Holy crap, my mind has been blown away not only that but I got the chills from watching that. The way you did the approach of this song is also mind-blowing. With Aqasha you went to with fire and destruction while the melody was like an army marching to war but Nerath that is a whole new ballgame. With her, you did soul-piercing terror that had an icy edge to it with unimaginable nightmares waiting to happen while the melody is soft yet gentle but at the same time luring you in like a siren that gives you no choice but to obey her every command.
Overall, I absolutely loved both of the goddesses songs and can’t to hear more of the Infinite Eclipse Trilogy. But holy crap that was good😊

She reminds me of a goddess of the cosmos/space with her mane and tail, as well as her overall color scheme. What a beautiful design, and what a haunting song. It's actually very calming, too. I have taken to listening to it before I get ready to go to bed.

Gorgeous song, I love the way both Aqasha's and Nerath's song show the power and the differences between them and their followers, Aqasha's burning, exploding and hot as burning blazes and Narath's calm, slow paced, meticulous chill and cold one a burning volcano other a Glacial winter.

I love this! Amazing, wonderful, glorious! A couple things I noticed, though: one, in addition to the "feat" typo others, have mentioned, the first line is written in the video as "The conquer of our God formidable" but in the description 'God' is replaced with 'Queen'.
Secondly, you said that Nerath's horn is a little dislocated, but why? I don't remember reading something like this in Aqasha's description, and she doesn't seem to be different from her. Is it simply in comparison to normal unicorns, and Aqasha has it too? Or something else? Thirdly, I noticed that Nerath has a helmet and her wings and horn are made of crystal, unlike her sister who has nothing on her body and her wings and horn are apparently normal. Is this simply because of artistic choice or is there a reason for it? I am curious. Anyway, this is a masterpiece and I can't wait for Naegissa's theme!

Regarding Nerath's horn, let's say it's mainly because of her horn made of crystal more than anything. It's really mostly a stylistic choice.
Also, it isn't really a helmet, it's just her mane ^^ And yeah, wings and horn are made of crystal because it's one of her main power, the crystalization.
Regarding Aqasha, while she seems "normal", her whole body 'wings included) is made of melted gold ^^
