What a great series! Fabulous to see a gun in Tate’s hand again! And like Steve Mags on YT, it great see true “dyed-in-the-wool” hardcore car guys back on the air! Your Car Craft videos are great condensed cuts but would love to see longer more in depth content to show us how to restore and modernize classic iron. Get up the good work! CAR CRAFT should have its own channel.
I think my oldest Car Craft still intact is like 1969. I have a copy of the last rag too. I also had an article published by Matt King. So very good to see CC back in some form! Agree with Left Nut - 30~60 minutes would be easily digestible and welcome. Thanks also to Steve Strope for being part of this, good to see him involved. No nonsense here, just car crafting.
Y'all should spin this off onto its own seperate TH-cam channel. Also, feel free to make them a lot longer. I will watch an hour of Vice Grip garage. I would love to see more nitty gritty details.
Car Craft was my fave as a kid. I read every word of it! Looks like the new Car Craft is gonna be even better! Thanks for bringing it back! Keep it up!
I just watched all 3 episodes of this excellent restomod build. I’d have liked some more nitty gritty install details, but that’s just me. Well thought out package and I’ll bet it’s an awesome driver. Good job guys.
Awesome! Great to see Car Craft is back. I got that mag for years! Am redoing a '70 Charger myself right now and was planning on a Hellcrate and T-56. I want to see more of this car!
I'm not sold on replacing the 8.75 rear and leaf springs with a Ford 9". With all the aftermarket stuff you threw at the Ford, I'm pretty confident that you could built the 8.75 to handle 700+ HP. You do realize that Mopar leaf springs could also handle that much HP. If you had gone with an IRS suspension, I probably would have no problem with that.
John, you used the right technique, but the wrong race, when pressing on the carrier bearing. You should press against the inner race with an old inner race. Pressing on the outer race will hurt the bearing. Only press against the race that has a press fit to another surface.
THAT IS ONE BADASS CHALLENGER!!!! I LOVE THE UPGRADES!!!!! THE HELLCAT IS ALIVE & WELL IN 2022!!!! CAN I BUY MY CAR CRAFT T-SHIRT AT THE MOTORTREND STORE? THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
MR. MCGANN, the episode i was waiting for, the car is now for real.... i've seen you on Lucky's youtube vids and you both come across as low-key but professional, nothing half-baked...keeping the old suspension would have constituted some serious half-baking...
Longer vids, more tech! McGann and company have plenty of know-how, so let's see more than 11 minutes! :) Oh and get the superstars over at Roadkill to do a crossover and give you plugs in general. Most guys who read Hot Rod, read CarCraft too. The ones that were too young for magazines, will just follow links!
This is epic content. Very well put together guys.. my props to the camera man also. I've been using amsoil for years. And after seeing you guys use it I am 100 percent on amsoil now. What do you guys say about swapping all of a modern Hellcat Redeye fluids to amsoil?
Amsoil is a premium lubricant company... Any vehicle, especially High Performance vehicles like a Hellcat can benefit from excellent fluids... Literally, it's the LIFE of an engine and mechanical component. I would do it if I actually owned a Hellcat... :)
No wonder Freiberger's stuff either blows up or falls apart. You guys get all the high end stuff. Great build but personally I'd rather do a Gen2 Hemi or a stroker 440. But when you build for show, the criteria are different. Nothing sounds as good as a thumpin hemi, one of the reasons the Hemi Shootout is so popular. I guess I'm old school.
The 707HP/656 lb-ft Hellcat Engine was designed to use the Tremec 6spd to handle the torque. The smaller TKX is rated at 600 lb-ft. Yes, the TKX will work and fit within the tunnel of that Challenger but for how long? The Hellcat engine has a extremely flat torque curve. It is running at over 600 lb-ft of torque between 3,000-6,200RPM. There is NO WAY that TKX will last....Again IMO.
Why not save some time and throw that old body onto a hellcat? Engine and trans that's fine but it's the old school suspension that makes it what it was. The ride and the feel is like the spirit of the car. Save your money and buy a hellcat and be done with it

I subscribed to Car craft in my teens and early 20s. Glad to see it back.

Agreed
Thanks Man!!! we've got high hopes for more episodes and more cars... thanks for watching!!
I was legitimately heartbroken when Car Craft came to an end. Please give it life once more!
Car Craft was my fave as a kid. I read every word of it!
Looks like the new Car Craft is gonna be even better! Thanks for bringing it back! Keep it up!
THI WOULD BE MY DREAM CAR!!! I always loved the original Challenger, since I was in school.

Loved car craft magazine when I was a kid! Great video series, glad to see more!!!

I started my Car Craft collection in 1961 at 9 years old. Wish I still had them.
Car Craft is back! Keep it coming, love the content. Strope's hair is full rock bassist level now! Love it Steve!
Has or will there be a video showing more of the completed work and the car being driven?
Super cool................... 👍👍👍
OMG this build gets my blood flowing!!!!
Awesome work on this build.
Can't wait to see the break-in and test drive.
Car craft was my favorite magazine
Great work boy's keep it up... Nice job!!
I wondered where you ended up Kevin! Great video series on an awesome Mopar!
Thanks and Happy New Year!!!

Great show. Would be better a little longer with more details of the build.

My favourite Mopar, The Challenger but specifically the 70.

I like ARP - just good luck buying them ...
Nice Job
Needed to see it run and drive. I'm heartbroken!!!

You might have trouble keeping the paint on it 👍😎 woohoo 🔥🔥
You should check out the XV Racing suspension next time, I know a guy... :)

Y'all should highjack project X and swap a real powertrain back into it.
Can you guys do a facebook page and maybe do some of the classic cartoons that were in the magazines.
Wow, whats the best option for a jeep wrangler
A Ferd 9" in a Mopar? WTF Use a bulletproof Dana.

Hi is the 4 link good for drag racing and handling
4 link is better for everything in my opinion... no axle wrap, better and more controlled contact, squat, and traction.
What color blue was that?
I believe it’s B7 blue

Very good 👍
35х9 главная пара (3,88).Это почти волговская 43х11(3,9).
Jon Mcgann and Kevin Teitz good combination, Jon needs to work on his presentation he seem introverted
At least you aren't desecrating this car as they did to Project X.
Stay legit don't submit.
Dana 60
That paint mismatch is horrendous. You should have just gone with a flat black hood.

The 8and 3/4 can handle 700 hp
Not a bad way to waste 15K on the rear end alone…..
And it is still the quadra bind that put fox mustangs into snap over steer?
