We had the privilege of spending an evening at the home of an Amish family. We had supper with them and got to experience a horse-drawn buggy ride and tour the Amish school.
glad your enjoying pa, and Amish country and living, its quite amazing. very neat you got a personal exp with your friends Amish family, i don't think they live too much different than we do, just not many luxury things like we all have per say, but sometimes i think they have the right ideas, lol
There's certainly is a lot to admire about their culture and way of life. They were very nice and accommodating people, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit with them.
I said it before and I"ll say it again, you put out the best content and videos. That's why I love your channel so much. Keep on having fun and waiting on more videos of your trip.
We enjoyed this video so much. Brought back many memories of going to Amish country in Lancaster with my parents. I don't remember the year of the last time we went but it was for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and I think 6 out of my 8 siblings went. We stayed in Strasburg at the Red Caboose motel. Looking forward to the rest of your trip. If you have time you should ride the train at Strasburg.
We actually drove out to see the Red Caboose Motel earlier. Unfortunately, we did not have time to do the train, but we did see it go by when we were at the Caboose Motel.
That was a nice horse and buggy you rode in. I saw them in Maryland and they wasn't fancy like that one. They even had side roads there so the buggy's didn't have to be where the cars were on the main road. I think the Amish people are beautiful people too. Thank you for letting us see your wonderful trip. ❤️❤️
Wonderful video - captivating experience. Could you put a link to the name of the town/owners who provided the Amish "taxi" ride for you...? Blessings - John
This was not actually their business, to give rides. We were simply guests in their home, through mutual friends. They took us in their own personal buggy as a courtesy. As we mentioned in the video intro, we have to refrain from giving their names. There are places that do that here, though.
Great video... As a lifelong Lebanon County resident I take all of this as normal... It was nice to see it through the eyes of visitors...Happy that you enjoyed your day here.
@@erniesteele3164We really appreciate your watching and taking the time to comment. We loved our visit to your area. Very nice area, and very nice people.
Wow that’s really neat the buggy ride.Didn’t know the buggy’s were so nice inside except maybe a little tight. Thanks for the video.Always wanted to go there but never been.Hope y’all continue to have fun.
the ham with apricot sounds delicious, the Amish buggy rides looked fun, pastor Dan was so sweet to arrange all these fun experiences for your birthday and Kim was sweet to cook for you, the Amish school house reminds me of Little House on the Prairie, the farm country is beautiful there, my family are Indiana farmers, we hope to visit the area one day
I Love and have so much respect for Amish people . I enjoyed this video.Have you ever watched the Appalachian channel narrated by John He has video on muddy pond and the people who I think are amish
That area is very unique. I love meadow tea and whoppie pies! I was born in Lancaster, but grew up in Atlanta. My dad was a Mennonite pastor. So glad you got to go there.
Glad you made it to our home state safe. You will love the Whoopi pies!! They are popular here in Pennsylvania. Can’t wait to watch your videos especially of Shady Maple Buffet!! Love watching!!!
Yes, we have really had a great time in PA. We did go to Shady Maple yesterday, and the video will hopefully be up within a day or two. We have been on the go most of the time, but I will work on videos on the way home tomorrow. I've been able to get a couple up so far.
Sad to see you leave Pennsylvania. Wish you could have visited Jimmy Stuart’s hometown Indiana, Pa. And Red Ribbons bottling co. Your favorite fruit punch!!
That was so neat! I was watching how the horse was looking around even though he had on blinders. Then he swerved from the bird!! The Amish way of life has always intrigued me. Would ya'll do a video on the differences between what they believe and what we as Christian's believe?
I would not necessarily distinguish them as being non-christian. The ones we talked to, were believers in Christ. We did go to a place this morning that outlines the difference between Amish and Mennonite. That video will be up in a day or two. And yes, we thought it was funny how the horse didn't like the birds. Thank you so much for watching.
MY WIFE AND I WATCH YOU GUYS A LOT! ORIGINALLY FROM S.C., LIVED IN LANC. COUNTY FOR 45 YEARS. GREAT TO SEE YOU VISITING OUR AREA. A LOT TO SEE! A BIT HOTTER THAN USUAL! THE GREEN DRAGON (2 MILES FROM US) IS A FRIDAY EXPERIENCE, BUT AGAIN PRETTY HOT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CHRISTIAN WITNESS!

So glad to see that you are having an awesome time! Now that's an authentic Amish buggy ride! Not like one you get from a tour. Enjoyed seeing the school house inside too. Enjoyed the video!
Loved the video, thank you. Always was curious about the amish, had heard how good their foods are. I am in new jersey, right after pennsylvanis.❤❤🙏🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲

IMO, "technology" doesn't automatically equal "luxury".
the views of the video are simply astonishing, cinematic, congrats. I hope someday I will be able to move to a place like that

It looked like you had a wonderful time on the buggy ride. What a neat experience.
Yes, we did. If you ever get the chance to do that or meet any Amish folk, you should definitely experience it.
I Love and have so much respect for Amish people . I enjoyed this video.Have you ever watched the Appalachian channel narrated by John

The Amish and Mennonites sponsor many of the 1-855-FOR-TRUTH billboards seen along highways which advocate belief in God and in Jesus Christ.
Are you planning to go to the Amish grocery store
We went to a small Amish market today.
If you don’t have tomatoes and cucumbers you should get some from there
We actually have tomatoes and cucumbers in our garden at home.
@@NCMemoryMakers Be thankful you're allowed to grow a vegetable garden. There are places where they are restricted or even forbidden!

@cathymcgee1674 Yes, it's in the mid-90s here today, as well.
Loblaws supermarkets in the Toronto area sell Whoopie Pies in their baked goods departments. They're good. But... the Nanaimo Bars are excellent!
Nice video
Thank you!
Sound like fun .
It really was
such a beautiful countryside, always loved riding through Amish country when we lived up there.
Yes, it is beautiful up here.
You used to live up here? I didn't realize that.
