Congrats on the first deer of the season. I have the exact same crossbow as you have there bought it because it was cheap and I could play around with it. In my testing with a 435gr bolt I was getting speeds of only 210fps and you are spot on about those broadheads being to wide for that power and speed. The blades are at a very steep angle to penetrate effectively. You may want to look into some heads that the traditional guys shoot seeing how this crossbow is running along the same arrow weights and speeds as a 50# recurve bow. The Magnus stingers or buzz cuts for an off the shelf broadhead should work very well for you but you may have some trial and errors to work through with flight but over all in the end you should have better penetration and better chance of getting through bone if you so happen to hit something solid and or get a very very large deer with in range.

Thanks for the information brother!! I have since this video ordered some 2blade fixed broadheads, but haven’t taken anything else. I figured these would do much better, because like you, I’m only getting about 220fps through the chronograph. So far I have loved crossbow and it has been great to hunt and shoot with. Most of the places I hunt I will never take over a 30 yard shot and this thing is perfect for that. Thanks for Congratulating and I hope your season is going great so far!! Thanks for coming along brother!!🦌🦌🍀🍀

Yeah our season here in Indiana has started off pretty well. I dropped a doe last weekend with my compound bow and I have a few buddies who all got deer this week as well. If you don’t mind me asking what 2 blade broadheads did you end up going with and how do they fly out of that crossbow?@@mullisoutdoors

@@sniper12589 They are called NC Hunting. I got them off of amazon and they fly great into my broadhead target. Shot the same zero at 20 & 30 as my field points, which surprised me a little. I did dull one as a practice point so it wouldn’t cut up my target so bad because they come in packs of 6. I haven’t shot an deer or hog yet, but I have no doubt they are going to do great. I’ll put they video up when I do get one with them.

@@mullisoutdoors gotch ya. I have played around with broadheads very similar to those. Probably the same ones but different branding and I have found the metal is a bit on the soft side. The edge has a tendency to roll and the tips curl if you hit something hard. 2 other thing to keep in mind as well is cross bow bolts are typically a bigger diameter so if you find a head that has a feral that is the same or bigger diameter then your bolt shaft that will help a lot on penetration as well. And I have also found playing around. Cutting my bolts down to 16-18 inches drops the weight of the bolt but allows me to used heavier broadheads to keep the same velocity. If you have any issues with those broadheads and want to keep on a budget minded setup check out the crimson talon cleavers. They are a little tricky to sharpen but I have switched to those with my compound bow and they are every bit as good as my cutthroats and VPAs at only $30 a pack. And even cheaper if you find the discount code that a fellow TH-camr has. Lusk archery adventures. Check out his review on them. You won’t be disappointed in them.

@@sniper12589 Thanks for all the info brother, I’m fixing to go check put Lusk now. I cut my bolts down to 17”, but I think I might cut them a little shorter, like about 16-16.5 and see how those go. I still have a lot of experimenting to do till I find exactly what works best.
