    Great recovery on your Thai! Knot Dude uses moss for quick rooting cuttings. I started using it with a struggling Raven ZZ. Worked much better than water for the rotting roots. Now switched it over to Leca until the roots get stronger before potting in soil. Some plants you just don’t want to lose! Looks like you saved yours! Congratulations!

    I am currently dealing with rot on a cutting I did on my monstera albo.. I initially put it in water and it did not go well. I moved it into fresh soil and now it's going limp!! I'm definitely going to try moss now! Your video gave me the courage to try something else lol

    I am currently dealing with root rot on my monstera too! 😭
    I put it in water and it's rotting. I keep cutting it and putting it back it water and rot is coming back. I want to try sphagnum moss. How do you wet the moss? Do you water it like a regular plant or take out the moss and wet it and squeeze out the extra water and put it back. Please help me, anyone!

    • @ErikaLodes
      @ErikaLodes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Oh no): What I do, is I wet the sphagnum moss & place my plant in covering the roots with the moss like its a lil blanket for them :) I don't put my roots in very deep, just cover them a little. I check the moss every day to see if it has dried (it dries kind of quickly). If it's still a little damp, I will spray the moss with water. If it is completely dried out, I will water it like if it was in soil. This method will probably work for you too! There are a lot of SUPER helpful comments on my last video about this plant. I highly recommend you check them out :)

      Use perlite, no rot, little bit water in plastic container, my stems are looking verry damaged, black spots etc, in perlite plastic container, with little warm, environment, and grow light, after 1 week i have so many nodes, roothed now, the nodes where also black, i scrapped littke bit with water +h202, peroxide 3%, with a papertowel i scraced the black from it end, cleaning the other black rot spots, and use little bit dip from active black chacoral, its works great.. I hope it get so wel now with your nodes.. Greetings

    Erika, the plant looks much better! I’d just keep it in moss until the new roots were about an inch long, then it should be ready for your super soil mixture. Personally, I would not use heat because it might hasten the growth of any bacteria. Nice job!

I cut off the bad roots and repotted it because that’s what Google said but would you suggest me removing it to place in the moss? I don’t know what to do anymore and at this point I think my plant is too far gone because all the amazing roots I had when I purchased it are gone and I’m left with one tiny-ish root.

      My thai i got it 1 month ago and I potted it because she had lots of root so I saw her declining took her off the pot and guess what her root almost all rot at this time she is in water in with 2 nub and I bought Clonex in amazon wish help stimulate root faster and she id doing good and I don't know why because my aroid mix is very chunky so I got a heat mat and got the plastic self water pot so when she have establish rot I put her in the self water pot like I have my albo and she is thriving my albo in 2 month gave me 3 new leave the self water pot is the best ☺

      Dont give up.My thai also had root rot in all her roots and she ended up with 2 tiny nubs get a self water pot in amazon the plastic ones that have the cotton wick on them and change her aroid mix make a fresh one my aroid mix is soil, worm casting ,perlite, orchid bark ,coco coir, charcoal and cow manure that i purchase on Amazon all my plants are thriving so once my thai establise her root im doing that aroid mix for her too. My friend told me about her aroid mix. her thai is huge and healthy. But I just eye ball my aroid mix. I dont measured it i end up buying everything in home depot but the cow manure i got in from Amazon and do not stink lol
