Testing the insane Gamo magnum high power pointed hunting air rifle pellets!

  • Are these Gamos best budget hunting pellets?
    I test these against the Gamo swarm 10x pellets through both the Anschutz 9015 and the Airmaks katran. the results are incredibly surprising! The gamo lethal pellets are probably in the same league a these...
    Gamo are well known for their spring powered rifles and the 9015 has a very similar loading arrangement to the majority of spring powered rifles on the market.
    i test the accuracy and check how well they penetrate .we also end up shooting some crows. metal ones.....
    previously i tested the H&N ecite econ11s which were a fantastic short range pest control and plinking pellet. how well do these compare?

    have to say Tilly you are probably the only person I would rate -- you give the facts -- your shooting skills and honesty are exemplary -- in a world of flim-flam artists that's rare thank you
    question would you go into the world of testing rifles ? or would that not be a step too far?

      Thanks for the kind words mate. Im being regularly asked to do some in depth rifle reviews and testing,the biggest issue I've got is I need to do that without being supported by shops or manufacturers so I have full control over the content,be it good or bad performance.
      I don't have the budget right now to buy the stuff for review and extended testing.
      I'm not sure what the answer to that is just yet,but when I can raise the funds... I'm game if you lot are...😉 Cheers!

    I have to tell you, it’s pretty entertaining watching a guy of your caliber shooting such shotty pellets. Haha!! I do appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos. It really points out why we pay a primo price for the primo pellets. Keep up the good work!!

    Think you could get a tighter group with a 410 at 15 paces than the magnums!

    Here in the states these come in a four pack the hunter, magnum, country, and Ts-22 I bought 10 packs with my gen 1 swarm some years ago. Even with the gun they were partially made for even it didn't like them. I have had mild success with the hunters outta other rifles. Overall I really don't care for them. Nothing against gamo or bsa just facts. Thank you for sharing.

    In my experience 2 groups plus flyers is a good tin of Gamo pellets...Dont even risk them at 10 to 12 yards close ratting.None of my guns like them, even the 7.5 joules Diana. Rats love em.Another good video, so thanks again. Keith

      Hi mate,I wasn't sure I'd have been able to keep them safely in the 17cm trap at 25yds hence pulling them back to only 15 paces. Disappointing performance really ☹️

    The BSA pellets aren't too bad and certainly a nice cheaper option

    Many thanks. Guess these Gamo pellets may shoot fractionally better in other barrels but you’re review certainly highlighted the anomalies of this cheap range of pellets. Look forward to you Tilly Testing some BSA pellets, never used them but occasionally considered giving them a try.

    Great review. Guess these pellets are lethal on ill tempered cans at 10 yards😄. But I have a Daisy 1999 BB gun that kills cans at 17 yards, ten times per penny! Need better pellets for pest control... Thanks again Tilly!

    Gamo Tomahawk Expansion 7.56gr work well in my break barrel rifles. Don't know if you can get them "your side of the pond" but might be worth a look. Edit they are the ONLY Gamo that has been decent in the ones Ive tried.

    i follwed your advice from one of your last video's and went for the somewhat harder pellets than the traditional lead pellets, i got som H&N baracuda 15's(15,89gr) and some snowpeak round(15,90gr) and trhe results at short distances were more accurate than with lead pellets, wil test them this week at 35m at my local shooting club thanks!

    Used something similar in early 70's advertised as a rabbit hunting pellet (jackel I think).
    Tried them in several BSA's, a paratrooper, and weihrauch 35E, you couldn't use them as you had no idea beyond 10m where they would hit.
    Looks like they are no better.

    My Steyr LG110FT actually groups with the super cheap Eley Wasp out to 40 yrds..
    After 40 yrds they tumble and scatter.
    The Steyr isnt pellet fussy at all.. It just has to be clean.
    Every 200 to 300 pellets it needs a barrel clean and all is good.
    Apparently its a feature and the joys of having a stainless steel barrel

    • @tillysgunstocks
      @tillysgunstocks  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep that's Steyr life for you.... Interesting one for you, a number of years ago we built a bunch of bsa hornets with ev2 barrels. In the hornet action(actually a really decent bit of kit) the barrels all only went a few hundred shots before needing cleaning. One of the same barrels ended up going back Into a MK3 ev2. Barely ever needed cleaning. The loading probe arrangement and typical reg pressures can have a surprise effect on barrel cleaning/fouling.😉

    Have you tried the new wasp pellets? Same as Webley VMX afaik too. Putting them next to the Excite Hammer pellets they look and feel almost identical, apart from not having the fluted skirts on the wasps. Very hard pellets but well made and very very cheap. Could be an interesting comparison video. I hear they can suit some barrels quite well. No luck with them through my 99s though. I keep going back to RWS Superdomes for cheaper plinking pellets as out to about 30 yards they all go through the same hole.

    • @tillysgunstocks

      I've not tried them mate, the next ones will likely be the h&n hammers. Hopefully they are good for 25yds or so. Certainly a favourable price...

  • @three-phase562

    Makes you wonder if manufacturers actually test their pellets in rifles. Those close up photos certainly showed some pretty rough features due to inconsistent swaging process. I do use the BSA Goldstar quite a lot and they do shoot reasonably well in my R10.

    • @tillysgunstocks
      @tillysgunstocks  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Morning mate, I doubt there's any money to spare for testing tbh. The actual manufacturing cost must be minimal, especially given all the mouths to feed on the way to us end users.
      Are the bsa gold stars h&n ftt? Wise choice if they are.
      Them 10x pellets could well be an h&n rebrand,they are significantly better than most the gamo range.

    • @three-phase562
      @three-phase562 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tillysgunstocks Yes mate, I believe that they are a rebrand of the h&n ftt. 4.52 mm head and 8.64 gr. Wouldn't have thought it would cost a company, the size of Gamo, to throw a few tins to some local shooters to get some feedback. Almost tempted to buy a tin myself to see if they are just as bad.

    Gamo pellets are worse than shooting small stones.
    Gamo pellet tins are full of SHIT bits or lead and other dirt. Lots of deformed pellets and sizes/ weights are all around the place. Some of them just fall thru my barrel and others from the same tin are too big to simply push in and need to be forced in to the barrel.

  • @stevenlord782
