Is rocky trying to say that she was hired on below deck to be a sous chef?? There are no sous chefs on yachts and there has never been a sous chef on below deck. Rocky is insane.

yachts actually do have sous chefs that cook crew meals, among other things. but yeah, BD never had one (they wouldn't dare decrease the pressure in the galley it's TV gold) and I highly doubt Rocky was hired as such. she is OUT there.
No they do..The big mega yachts that have massive crews actually do have Sous Chefs.. they cook the crew meals because with such a huge crew it’s too much for one chef
Some yachts have more than one chef but rocky had to of known she was hired as a third stew. Unless she didn't read her contract or listen to what everyone was saying. She's strange.

Listening to Rocky is like nails on a chalkboard to me. In that moment, if I were Kate, I probably would have told her to simmer down and take a walk.
Kate is not capable of genuine comments.
Rocky does have a few screws loose for sure but Kate oftentimes does not approach her subordinates in a respectful way. A leader should not be tough 24/7. Have to at least sprinkle in some genuine respect and light hearted humor every now and then.

Kate deserves points for her restraint. All she said to Rocky was "you're not the best yachtie." If Rocky's honest with herself, how could she disagree with that statement? Did Kate probably have some resentment from having to work harder due to having a stew not good @ her job? Yes! Rocky was offered the job of 3rd stew on the boat that season. Even if her expectations differed, she didn't have to accept the job, but she did. Rocky even admits here that she didn't want to clean a yacht. Well, she should've researched the duties of a 3rd stew better, which is basically a glorified maid. All this shows is that Rocky still hasn't learned from her behavior & what she did wrong in that situation. No accountability! She should've just said, you're right, I didn't want to be there & I made the most of a bad situation for myself. & my how we were all entertained!

If saying "jumping off the boat was iconic, you're a legend...you are so entertaining, & so talented, I could never dive like you, I could never swim like you" is somehow a catalyst worthy of getting all bent out of shape over, then Rocky, like your interpretation, needs more help than originally thought.

Rocky Logic: You said I wasn't a good yachtie, but I think I am because I quit and jumped off the boat in my skivvies when a chef was rightfully fired and after I proved to be a complete failure on service and cleaning - the things that would indicate I was a good yachtie.
Rocky lives on a different planet than the rest of us. She said she was hired as a sous chef? Didn't she almost make the guests vomit when the chef quit mid charter. AND in all the seasons of 'below deck' I have never seen a charter that employed a sous chef.

@@denaredford6701 you are correct. He was fired but he chose to leave mid-charter as opposed to leaving when the charter was over. Captain Lee didn't tell him to pack his bags and leave mid charter.

I didn't even notice the "You're not the best yachtie" comment. Rocky should've just come back with "And you're not the best chief stew, but you are GORGEOUS", instead of drawing it out, and looking like she wanted to physically fight over a petty remark. One backhanded compliment deserves another. But she just made herself look crazy again.

But I also think that if Kate was so great, then she wouldn't have petty conflict every season, with a stew beneath her. Yeah, some seasons, it's the stew's fault, because they're either crazy (Rocky) or entitled (Laura), but sometimes it's Kate's social skills. Like with Simone. Seeing her emotional, because she just wanted to learn more made Kate criticize her even more, ice her out, and express blatant bias towards Courtney. That's not how you handle things. You should balance being a professional, and having a heart.

I think Simone wasnt paying attention to guest like she should have. They showed her talking to one of the deck hands while the guest were waiting for service. I think kate can work on her approach; but at the end of the day she expects these people to do their job completely without distractions.

Rocky is not a team player many people are not. She is a free spirited recalcitrant individualist.
I would want Kate in my corner in a crisis but if you look at the dynamics on the yacht she is the most powerful by far and shrewdly so. She has the Captain under her thumb useing her beauty and brains and it works on most men. Her tactics in confrontations are interesting. No doubt in my mind Kate is a sly operator and would have made a brilliant spy in wartime.

Lol I love it. Kate saw it like it was, Rocky was not a great or a good stew. She was too much even on her first day. She probably never had a boss to tell her what to do. So what that she went to culinary school, how long did she stay or she have more experience as a chef or at least a sous chef? Maybe Kate didn't need to bring that up, just compliment someone and mean it, don't compliment and then throw a disrespectful insult at the same time. That's like saying, "You're so good looking, BUT, you're dumb". So Kate didn't need to throw in that dig towards Rocky. Kate was just being honest and she was right about how Rocky wasn't. Plus, Rocky's emotions were all over the place. Up and down and out there, too loud, over dramatic and then she loved to be paid attention to and attract attention. Because she hated Kate and Kate and Leon hated each other, Rocky took Leon's side. Which also made it worse for Leon to show off his hate for Kate! Lol
