Tom was a horrid chef. The new down under season just proved that Aesha is amazing at her job and Tom is just a bully. One of the most untenanted arrogant chefs I’ve ever seen on this
Tom is far and away the most talented/skilled chef on any of these shows. He never should've signed up for this, not his demographic at all.
*Vomit, nah he's horrible and his pretentious food taste like straight up ****@@nickf8028
Most of them are tbh I'm a female and I survived that industry for 25 years getting called a see you nxt Tuesday, getting knifes thrown, cutting boards thrown and I still got to head chef did some swearing of my own and left the industry.
Nick you are kidding right ?
I don't think he was a horrid chef, just needed to check his ego at the door and realize that sometimes the client isn't going to like his food the way he wants it done.
Tom is a deeply insecure person. Why attack someone that is sympathising with you? Beyond horrible person
He’s a brat. He has one job so do it
Tom is the epitome of the grumpy, nasty Englishman
@@greenlime1997 no. My brother in-law is that 🤣
@@TheSlipperyOtter lol
No joke! He is such a Prima Donna! 🙄
slicing cucumber is like slicing lime for drinks, a thing strews can do. Buuut if the guests asked the chef to do it, a steward did it and the cucumber was a bit off - the chef would've been pissed if he heard the guests complain about what they thought was his work
Ben and Rachel are the best chef's. The crew always gets larger tips with them. Yes they are temperamental. They do need a prep chef.
Totally agree. Rachel was amazing and Marcos was great too from below deck sailing. I had no idea the whole boat is on its side when sailing and you are still expected to cook and prep in that condition. Unlike Adam 🙃
Kiko y andrian TMB son los más mis favoritos
How do you know? When did you taste their cooking? You’re basing the claim “the best chef” on what you see from various clips on a show. How could you possibly know who the best is without experiencing what would actually make them the best at their profession?
Yep Rachel was my absolute favorite she killed it! Ben was great too
Ben suuuuuuucks
I think they should always have an assistant Chef on these charters. It seems like something is always going wrong with the main Chef, or they cant work with others adequately because of their temperament, which hinders the flow of service.
I think most big yachts do , not this one on tv though. He sure was pissed though.
Chefs are usually pretentious douchebags, especially in yachting
But they're only cooking for 9 or 10 people, a competent chef should be able to do that. Easily!
@@lisacz6607 yeah but don't they cook three meals a day plus snacks plus for the crew too?
Genuinely asking because I don't know.
@@sarahobah You're right, they do (I forgot!) But my point still stands! My youngest sister did catering and hotel management at Uni and, except for work experience in America during her 2nd year, she hasn't worked in that area but can still rustle up gorgeous food for loads of us at Christmas etc.
Tom is definitely a narcissistic person. He deflects responsibility and makes other people around him feel responsible for his feelings even when they have no control over it because he’s so overly insecure and sensitive. He will definitely wear down the people around him.
hard out
Totally agree
You've obviously never worked in a kitchen
Shame him and Malia never worked out. They're perfect for eachother.
I do agree with him on the cucumber tho
oh they deserved each other definitely@@ChrisTravelss
“Waking up” I think him and malia were about to get down and then got interrupted. Can you say blue balls 😂
i’ll never understand chefs who get so aggravated when a guest asks for an accommodation on their food like it’s your JOB… to COOK… as a CHEF?
Everyone needs and deserves a break, no matter the profession.
I do think there are over the top guest though .. that can push buttons. But yeah just do it with joy it'll making their lives better.
Because it’s insulting you cook a dish how it’s supposed to be cooked and everything is perfect and someone wants to fuck it up
probably because there is a lot of passion involved
i feel like all commenters here are missing the point, the customer was asking for some sliced cukes and some olive oil(and then avo) it doesn't take a culinary degree to do that . so if the chef is not answering why bother them with that? but then again this all devolves in to front of house not understanding what the back of house does... *edit* i didnt watch the rest of the vid while commenting that. the rest of the vid is a full shiz show heh
“Leave aunt Jemima out of this” 😭😭😭
Tom seethes with fury degrades and talks down to people. Cant imagine how he treats people when cameras arent around. It was hard to even watch him. It seemed he wanted to punch Aiesha.
I didn’t get anger from him as much as frustration. And I’ll clue you in…. Most head chefs talk to people way worse that Tom did. I think the thing with Aesha is that he was frustrated and wondering what he got himself in to and was mouthing off at the situation and she, not knowing him or his style, took it personally.
@@Fitzwillyfl I'll clue you in if it was beyond his scope and he was frustrated and wondering what he got himself into then he should have quit instead of belittling degrading talking down to etc a person that had nothing to do with him being woken up from his nap. People do take it personally when they are attacked for something that they had nothing to do with why a person was as angry as he was. You like he are also blaming Aiesha. She said at the start it wasn't my call. You might want to think about that before you attck her for not knowing his style. He didnt then go off and talk to Sandy the way he was talking her why.... He needed to beat up on someone who was beneath him thats why.
@@shellytarbet3677 See, the difference is that I’m looking the situation unemotionally. The world is filled with different kinds of people who react different ways. I understand why Aesha was upset at being spoken to that way but having been in her predicament many many times I guess I have a thicker skin and was able not to internalize the anger.
Ill say again that most chefs, especially head chefs are very emotional and explosive. That’s not excusing what Tom did or his behavior in general.
I can surmise that the atmosphere on board the yacht must have been tense with Kiko and Hannah both leaving so I’m sure everyone was on edge. I apologize if my take on the situation offended you somehow.
@@shellytarbet3677 amen🙌🙌🙌💯💯💯💯🎯🎯🎯🎯
@@Fitzwillyfl you are right he was frustrated however Shelly is also right because he chose to take it to the point where he was aggressively angry and couldn't control himself. I understand that a lot of chef's act like Tom but he was out of line and it showed that he wasn't capable to handle all that being a yacht chef entails. They work long hours often without a break and I think most people would buckle under those circumstances however imagine if the whole crew acted the same way.
Tom was a huge, temperamental jerk. So rude.
There were definitely a few weirdos.
Ben -- the Best !
I love Ben, tantrums and all. He cracks me up. 😂
Tom is a crybaby. "I can't even take a break ..." Get an office job!
Could u imagine him complaining for a break to Ramsy lmao 🤣
He was pathetic
@@mattgarn-towns3285 hahahahahaha his career will be over at that moment.
I mean everyone needs a break
Aesha was so kind to him and he still had the audacity to be so cruel to her.
I agree! If you make her cry you are a cruel person! She’s so optimistic!
He wasn’t cruel. Stop bring drips. Both of you.
@@jeanstanislawczyk1387 I don't think he intentionally made her cry. He's probably been on his feet almost all day - probably more hours than what the stews have been and the precious minutes he has to take some time away from the kitchen he's asked to slice up a vegetable and drizzle it with Olive Oil? I'd be pissed too.
How was he cruel? She was being lazy. ANY one can cut a cucumber like come on
@@veronicarekadid you watch the video? She literally had nothing to do with it, captin sandy woke the chef up and he took it out of ashea, how does that classify her as lazy?
Tom needs to do a bit of growing up and to stop using 'being a chef' as an excuse for poor behaviour.
Unfortunately Chefs often have huge personality defects. I've worked in pubs lots and over the years seen many with addiction problems and extreme anger and quirks. It's a tough, high pressured and often lonely job that seems to attract / cause these types of defects.
Tom is the absolute worst
Malia dodged a bullet with Tom. He a mean fighter. Anyone in his patch catches it. If he had a kid it would receive that anger in spades. He’s scary awful.
He had a few irritable moments over the course of several weeks, like everyone else. These people are living and working in a cramped space away from home 24/7, being filmed while they do their jobs and these clips are less than 1% of their overall time on the boat... Easy to judge from behind your computer screen, but at the end of the day, the man is a world-class yacht chef who had a few hiccups where he came across as childish, but other than that seems a nice guy....
@@timmartin2894 what u r saying is that he couldn’t handle the stress and working conditions. He used his girlfriend and added stress to her job. I think his true colors showed.
@@CS-pi5oc I didn't say that at all - you are truly dumb if that's the conclusion you came to... Did he complete the job to its duration and get paid for it? If so then he clearly showed he could handle the job, so why would I be saying the opposite to that? It's not against your contract to get stressed during your job. Nothing he did was a fireable offense and as I said he is a world-class yacht chef, so yes, under certain circumstances, poor behaviour can be insignificant in the grand scheme of things. What do you not understand about the sentence that this shows less than 1% of his overall time on the boat? What about if the other 99% of his time was excellent? Go read a book, or get a job yourself, and stop talking nonsense.
@@timmartin2894 U contacted me Timmy. It’s my opinion that u don’t steal away your girlfriend to help u do a job u chose to do. Plain and simple. He lost control, made errors, and gave proof that he couldn’t handle the job. He repeatedly droned on abt his rep, who he worked with, how it would look…yep, real chef material. Contact him and tell him how very proud u were of his actions on the show and how u would emulate his every move.
@@CS-pi5oc Malia literally just has to wash the boat and throw ropes when the boat docks - and she had been on the boat for weeks before Tom, so if she couldn't help him with a few teething issues while the boat was docked and she was doing nothing else, then that's called laziness. Yeah real chef material, exactly, cos he's still getting paid the big bucks to do it, and Sandy said he was the type of chef Kiko would need to train under, so she clearly thinks he was the calibre needed to be a yacht chef. In no job or aspect of life does anyone make zero errors and there was zero proof he couldn't handle the job - still none of your points back that up. He doesn't need my approval or yours, when he gets the approval and money from Yacht Captains. Again, I bet you can count his tantrums on one hand - you're still not getting that a few tantrums condensed into what's selected to be shown for a TV show, is nothing in the real World, considering he is working over several weeks... you don't get that part do you? People have tantrums at work all the time... If he worked 100 hours over a couple of weeks, and one hour of that time is spent complaining to colleagues, then that is 1% of his work time spent complaining - they're not gonna show the boring 99 hours of him preparing great food and being calm with his colleagues are they, even if that was 99% of the time. You need to get a grip and learn how TV works. It's not real life...
I’ve met Ben. He’s a huge personality and very intense when it comes to his food. He’s a perfectionist and his care comes through in his cooking. It’s amazing!!!
The Russian chic was a disaster from the start. Anastasia was 1000% times more talented in the kitchen than she was. SMH
Tom… well… he came in to a situation to bail Sandy out after she fired Kiko. In his defense he was used to working on larger yachts that had two chefs. Now, he acted like a prima-donna on the show… and later cheated on Malia so I’m not a fan.
Matt… There’s something about him that I don’t like. His cooking looked subpar even though the majority of guests loved his food. I don’t like the games he played and he seems to be a sleeze ball to me. Defiantly not a fan.
I’m surprised they didn’t show Adam putting onions in the guests food on purpose when it was highlighted on all the preference sheets NO ONIONS!! Maybe that was done for dramatic effect?! Next season he seems to make it up to the guest on their second charter but I wouldn’t have given him the chance.
Lastly, She’s nuttier than a sh*thouse rat at a peanut fair but Rachel kicks all their asses!! (Except Bens)
What do you mean by met Ben? Do you actually know him or just said hi?
@@NoOneHere2Day I met him at an event he was catering. We talked for about 15 minutes. He’s as gregarious and funny in person as he is on screen. I don’t know him personally other than that.

Malia had to walk on eggshells while Tom was throwing temper tantrums and then had to baby him
If you weren't interested in what Aesha had to say, then why did you ask her? Psycho. I feel so bad for the Stews, having to take bullets from these dudes constantly because someone who paid $150K to be there wants a snack. Ridiculous.
I never thought that it was the price the guests paid, somehow 🤔 I thought the TV would pay for them
I think the guests get a discount
It costs way more than 150k to charter a yacht that size. Is that a discount given by the show?
@@BigShrimpin416 Yes each guest receive a percentage off for apparing on the show...
Tom's behavior was totally uncalled for. He's the chef, so it's his responsibility, and the way he treated Aesha just shows his lack of character. He even flat-out admits he's just taking out his frustrations on her, and he's still treating her terribly and mocking her for crying because she's hurt. What a baby.
Chefs are notoriously temperamental but Tom was beyond rude…
Tom is a monster. I have known people like him all my life and am willing to bet he is abusive.
I hate gaslighting! Shame on you Tom.
14:00 They're short on lamb, and she's gobbling down 2 lamb chops that were for guests. At the same time, spreading all those sweepings the chef just took care of. Where did they find her? 🙄
"your bringing Aunt Jemima into this?!" Lmao
Bugs is such a hypocrite last time around she said that hannah should have talked to the she was having problems with adam but now that she is chief stew its a whole diffrent story
Don’t agree. She does take the feelings of her stews serious and she never gossip like Hannah did all the time. Hannah was so insecure and immature.
It sucks to be the person in between the chef and the guests. The chef always blames the server.
I’m sorry mate the reason you’re on that boat is to cater for the customers onboard
You are in charge of the foods quality as it goes out
So while anyone can cut up a cucumber It’s your one job on the whole boat
It’s the interior crews job to do a lot of things they pawn off to the deck crew as well. They’re all guilty of being lazy at times. Legal breaks are a thing and if someone can’t cut a cucumber up so that can be respected they shouldn’t be working in luxury conditions. 🤷♀️
There's also helping your crew on long hours, any other interior crewmember would receive aid if they'd been pulling a long shift. It's a simple task that helps your one chef, depriving him of proper rest is disrespectful and lazy. If they can't show it to him by slicing a cucumber then I see no reason for him to return their unkindness with kindness.
@@LickMyMusketBallsYankee agreed, it's like a waitress covering for postwash at the end of shift
Imagine being the chef and being mad you have to do your chef duties
I can understand the frustration that Tom has. But this needs to be discussed with Sandy, rather than resentment being expressed to those who are not at any fault at all
He wasn’t expressing it at others. He was angry yes, of course he was. But he wasn’t angry at her. Meanwhile, she’s just stood there in the way breathing down his neck saying sorry 100 times while he’s just trying to get on with what he’s doing. Of course that’s going to wind someone up more. Especially when you push past them to try and invalidate the reason they were even woken up at all, it just comes off theatrical
INCOMPETENT ! Describes him.
Tom was just a really nasty person, there is no excuse for his behaviour.
Remember Chef Adrian?
I think Hannah called him the emaciated 14 year old.
His food was absolutely beautiful
Yes
And really didn't lose his cool
It was very telling how much different Capt. Sandy was with Tom and Kiko. She deserved every bit of what that knob showed her.
I understand tom. I worked at a restaurant where I was constantly always relied on. I was called in early never able to catch a break or have a break. I would get frustrated in the heaths of the moment when I was finally able to catch a break or have a day off and was called in or upon with something so easy and simple
Can someone tell me why Malia and her Boy toy are laying down in the middle of the day on a charter.
They all get breaks throughout the day
You get a break at your job right?
@@flowersgrimm Yeah I get breaks , but I not the only chef on a boat, and Tom at one time wasn't even working there. Maybe they should save private time for a time when they both are off.
@@howardanthony1443 they don't get days off, they get breaks like in every other job!
Bringing in aunt Jemima and she still couldn't make a proper pancake! 🙄🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Most Chefs dont want people messing in their kitchens. It's not her job. Hes pathetic
He should know that while on board you are on call 24/7 either if you like it or not … you get paid that much for a reason
Wrong. The International Labour Organization put into place a statue in 2013 called MLC2006 that makes max hours to be no more than 14 hours in a 24 hour period and no more than 72 in a 7 day period and requires that at least 1 of the 2 periods of rest be a minimum of 6 hours.

I feel so bad for her! She did nothing to deserve that. Then she is trying to make him happy by doing the avacado but he swears at her and gets mad about that. She could do no right no matter what. What a jerk
Shut her mouth when someone is clearly getting more aggravated as you continue to speak? Sounds intuitive.
Poor aesha so rude towards her when she's just doing her job
Like wow, first of all understand that the captain is under a lot of stress but she is such a professional she doesn’t show it. Men’s while this chef is a being a pain in the butt and the crew is amazing
I don’t think people realize that that is the only chef on board. They have to cook for guest AND crew, and there is way more crew on board than you think, they just aren’t shown. Usually there is a sous chef but I’m guessing they realize there would be more drama if they don’t have someone helping the main chef on board. The chef probably also has to cook for camera crew as well.
Agree 💯 with you!!
I very highly doubt they cook for the camera crew 😂
He ain't a chef. He's just a whiny cook who complains about having to work. Also, the amount of guests on that boat doesn't even come close to the amount of guests in a restaurant. He can't handle an ounce of pressure.
9:35 LMFAO for real. 😂😂😂
Tom is just absolutely horrendous
At least Matt’s cooking skills back up his problems lol
He has to be the only chef I've seen on here that just moans about doing his job I don't think yachting is his thing
Tom didn’t need to cop an attitude with Aesha. She didn’t do anything wrong.
Bravo makes the best content 😊
When the guest is wearing a Penn State hat a the dinner table you know you have to cook the hell out of everything
I FREAKING LOVE BEN! He’s my all time favorite person on Below Desck!🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️😍😍😘😘
I have sympathy for chefs who work on yachts. In a restaurant, you as a chef can rely on a team. But in a yacht you are the person in charge of the galley where so much is dependant on you. If things go wrong with the service, the blame can be spread between 2 or 3 people, but with food there's no place to hide.
Bigger yachts have a sous chef n 2 chefs. Tom couldn’t handle the pressure simple as that.
A lot of boats actually do have help.
@@kellyperry559bigger yatchs have more chefs for the exact reason you’re insinuating that this boat shouldn’t.
This’ less ‘Tom couldn’t handle the pressure’ and more no one can handle that pressure. There’s a reason the chef profession notoriously bleeds into peoples personal lives & behaviours. Not to mention being the sole chef responsible for supplying 5+ group meals + spontaneous requests a day in a 24/7 confined social environment. There’s a reason chefs aren’t exactly snapping at the heals to fill these positions.
If you’re getting blamey & judgemental over watching a 15min video I bet you’d be irritated pretty quickly doing their job yourselves. Let’s get some perspective.
We don’t use Aunt Gemama in America. We use Bisquick. 😂😂😂😂
I can cut tomatoes, cucumbers and avacado Sandy!!
It’s his job
Damn Malia got around 😂😂😂
Mat did do a favor to Sandy ... Buttttt it was weird... Never forget that the producers do tell them to create drama
To be honest I would be pissed if I finally got a break and tried taking a nap. Only to be woken up to cut cucumbers and pour a little salt. 😂 that’s like waking someone up to go make a bowl of cereal. Nobody else is capable?
Last time I made boxed pancakes when I was like 12. It’s easier to make them homemade anyways 😂
Yeah but it’s his one job on the whole boat
Well if that pisses you off, then don't get the one job having to serve people food for people when they want food. You are not hired to go take a nap and have a cuddle session with your gf. Your job is to serve clients when they are hungry, get over it.
@@Nicole-by3ng Yes, it's easy to say that and I completely agree.
But people that work on yachts like this are a team and a team should be able to help each other out when possible.
@@xSkuli yes but if a complaint comes back about the food it’s on him.
So he has to over see the food served to the guest from how it looks to how it taste
A stew may put too much salt on the cucumber or she may cut it in an unappealing manner and that will come back on the chef
So it’s best if he does his job and makes sure it’s done right
He’s still wrong for talking to Aesha the way he did.
Tom shouldn’t have pissed and moaned about the cucumber. That’s your job ya bawbag.Getting a stew to do that task is like them asking you to make a bed!
Tom was there for a matter of hours and was crying he never gets a break, ever! 😂 waaaah
Thank gosh Malia got rid of him... Abusive
I get Tom didn’t go there to take on the job of the chef, but when he started on Aesha I was like nah! I get not waking chef up when they have gone to bed after dinner but if you are on break during the day, maybe be prepared to be called back out. Both interior and Deck don’t always have breaks!! So come on Chef Tom! Snap out of it with the attitude bro
😮 😂 so wait a minute - malia's man was angry because he had to do his job
The most disingenuous statement always starts, " I didn't mean to..."

Tom has a point, if no one else on the ship can slice a cucumber???
yes he has a point but if the guest is asking the chef to cut the cucumber then the chef has to cut the cucumber. no questions asked .... those guests are paying lots of top dollar to be on that yacht. REMEMBER the customer is always right look at the eggs benedict clip or the shrimp that werent cooked properly.
@@chanelsunshine point is that this request was made while he was on break. Sandy should have used common sense and asked someone else to do it. This was a violation of his rights as an employee to a break without interference. It wasn’t a request that couldn’t be handled by someone else

Why is Captain Sandy so involved with the interior?! Awkward
It is in the title "Captain", she is responsible for everything on the yacht ultimately.
