Picked up the 85" u8n this week. Setup within minutes. Haters will hate but this is a gorgeous tv, loaded with all the bells and whistles. Ive been watching HDR, SDR and gaming all week. Mine is absolutely mint. Winning the "panel lottery" once in a while doesn't hurt either. Great review - Cheers!
Finally, some slow off-angle shots of a non oled tv. I don't understand tv (reviews) without SLOW paning angles of non oled tv's in different lighting situations. You know, some people might be sitting at an angle to the tv. And that might be important (shakes head in disbelief wondering why reviewers rarely show this info). Thank You, for the angles...85 inch all day baby. Go Big or go home.Immerse yourself.
Good stuff. What did you think of the viewing angle? RTINGS did not give a great score so I've been hesitant on something like this in a living room setup.
Im an oled guy. Im in my fourth. But this u8n 85" got my attention for the price and picture. But, in your opinion, is it close to an oled? I mean, oled is oled thats why i love it so much. But the u8n is not a big step down? Or it has a worse picture but its not a huge difference. Liked your review. Thank you.
Its pretty close to an oled but oled still wins in the blacks department. But I really like this tv. If you dont have oled money this is a great alternative
I used your video to change Theater Dark settings. Over your right shoulder your couch has artifacts that my settings can't eliminate but tries hard to minimize it.
@hatoraidcowboy rtings has a color bar score. So I know the processor has a hard time with grey and black detail. I watched the Geico commercial with Jamie as a whistleblower and the grey wall had artifacts. A lot of Tv's have artifact issues. 55" panels have fewer LDZ than the bigger ones so TV processors can only do so much with what they have to work with especially using very high settings that don't much help any. You have to pick your pros and cons when buying a new TV its either spend what you can afford to buy or pay more for an oled or Miniled like a Sony Bravia 7 and even the B7 isn't perfect either and the U8N still has slightly better scores and with that it still comes back down to the 55" sizes that can only do so much with less than the bigger sizes no matter the brand.
@@hatoraidcowboy Actually Local Dimming on high is culprit setting. This is best kept at either off or low. However if off you can't use Peak Brightness. Local Dimming on high can produce the worst picture.
I'm undecided between the 75-inch HISENSE U8N or the 77-inch LG OLED B4. Which do you think is the best option? I don't watch sports, I consume a lot of streaming content and a few video games and I have a room with controlled lighting.
I dont have any experience with LG-OLED’s in my personal home. It depends on your budget and needs. If you want to save some cash go with the U8N. If you want to splurge go for the LG. In a light controlled room the U8N will probably get you very close to OLED blacks
@@hatoraidcowboy I was very lucky when I visited a store and they had the LG B4 and U8N side by side and I was able to see them in detail because both were showing the same video. I decided on the Hisense. The colors are much brighter and more intense than the LG B4 and the pure blacks were very, very similar. The only TV where I saw a noticeably better quality than the Hisense was the Samsung S95D, but I ruled that one out because of its price.

Hello and thank you for watching!

I wouldnt sit off too far to the side if you have ambient light cause you’ll def see them on screen but in a light controlled room its fine.
