      You’re putting too much blame on the employees. This company pays dirt, treats you like dirt, benefits are a joke but you’ll only get 39 1/2 hours a week... that way you don’t qualify for benefits. Most of their employees have to supplement their income with a second job or welfare/food stamps. Now they’re always at work, not raising their kids, and being miserable. And the country spirals further into darkness.

      Now they intentionally underpay employees so they qualify for welfare benefits/medical coverage. So instead of Walmart paying fairly for that, us taxpayers cover those costs.
      I haven't shopped at Walmart for almost 20 years because I boycott them because of that.

    • @ipsyop
      @ipsyop 5 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      @Snake Plissken the problem is since the 70's minimum wage has not risen to account for inflation whatsoever, walmart intentionally pays their employees pennies to screw the gov't over so they can get tax breaks and gov't subsidies so that they don't have to offer actual benefits.

  • @JohnnyAmerique

    I worked there for a year and a half. It’s not guaranteed to be a bad experience. I cared and tried my best every day. I got people in and out quick. But some of my coworkers were less than professional. I eventually just walked out one day and never came back. They’d blame me for things I didn’t do and make me go into the store and stock stuff. They had good benefits and good vacation time but overall not the best place to work. They really will hire a dead person as long as they’re still warm. And now they don’t drain the oil out, they just use a tube and suck it out, leaving a bunch of gunk in the bottom of the oil pan.

    I started off there and went to goodyear. The walmarts I worked at(I went from one to another after i moved) were nearly 2 completely different stores. The key difference was the manager at one used to own a local and well respected mechanics shop before he retired. He took the walmart job as a retirement job for the 10 percent discount, a little bonus cash, and something to occupy his time. He was strict about guidelines and procedures and is probably the reason I enjoyed that store honestly. He kept order and made sure things were fair and done right, but if we weren't busy he was always really chill and taught me a fair amount about vehicles. Scotty kinda reminds me of him a fair deal.

    Im a Walmart Automotive technician and I can say that what he says about the Automotive department is near 100 percent. I hear lots of stories of other Walmarts that people will take hours just to do simple oil changes and their bay times (average times spent on cars) reach over an hour for the oil changes. I feel lucky that my store is one of the few (if not some) that actually give a damn about the cars and customers, at least majority of the department does. I have good coworkers, teachers, and leaders at my work. Its thanks to them that I feel like not every Walmart is as bad as Scott's examples.

      That doesn't make them skilled technicians or valued employees.
      I think you got your feelings in the way for your friends and Coworkers you hang with after school cause you just tried explaining how walmart cares 🤣
      In the training they teach you to ignore the customer and get back to work. They teach you to not care 🤭
      I worked there for a while myself, I know.
      No stranger to walmarts attitude on stuff.

      True story. In the seventies, I worked for a lawn mower dealer, and a lady brought her almost new mower back to us for repair because she couldn't start it. The engine was froze up. She said she had just changed the oil, and it was clean and new, but smelled odd to us. We asked her what brand of oil she had used, and she replied "The manual said to use a quality oil, so I used Crisco oil". The good news, the pan was pulled from the engine, the upper bearing lubricated with a light oil, and the mechanic was able to break the crankshaft free. She was lucky, and she reminded us every year after that how thankful she was.
