    Absolutely one of the best TV shows in television history. Much better than the original.

      I totally agree and I'm loving watching the series for the first time. I'm over halfway through it. I just watched this episode.

    Rather amusing to consider later on it’s revealed that Tigh himself is a Cylon.

    Athena: That's Boomer
    Tigh: Ok, Boomer.

    how alliances change in this show throughout the entire series…AND is still very believable….is a testament to the greatness of this show.
    GoT was great at this too, but its last two seasons saw it couldn’t maintain its quality.

      He has his moments certainly,however any other person drinking so much on duty would be in the brig nearly the entire journey.
      Hello is FAR more deserving of the 1st officer possition.

    I'm over halfway through the series. I just watched S3E10, "The Eye of Jupiter" and what a great episode. I love Saul's line to Boomer after Athena calls her out:
    "Well, you just lost your visiting privileges..." - What a great line and delivery by Michael Hogan.

    So am I the only one that feels bad for Baltar in this show? Yes he has made his mistakes but the way Roslin/Adama treat him here and in various other scenes feels totally uncalled for.
    Also these are the same humans that were willing to use bomb vests to kill their own on New Caprica or genocide the entire cylon race. How dare they take the moral high ground?

    • @paulc1665
      @paulc1665 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      I hope you are the only one who feels that way. He was entrusted with the very guts of the defences of billions of human beings and gave that up just to get laid. There is no moral equivalency with small-scale suicide bombing, nor with a reciprocal attempt to wipe out the Cylons when humanity's own numbers were so perilously few.
      He eventually was redeemed by a higher power as depicted in the show, but his own actions nearly doomed all humanity more than once (the defence mainframe, giving the nuke away that blew up a chunk of the fleet, neglecting the defences of New Caprica, etc.)

      @@paulc1665 He was entrusted with creating a navigation software, in which he took advantage of the assistance of his lover, whom unbeknowst to him was a Cylon that created a backdoor in said technology.
      Baltar is in no way a saint, but he's hardly the villian Amanda and Roslin make him out to be. He has time and time again saved the fleet, while also risking his own life. Baltar is probably closest thing to a main character/protagonist in the series.

    • @paulc1665
      @paulc1665 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@uberjens So he was a super-genius, yet still wilfully blind to the fact his nav software had the "keys to the kingdom" (I.e. the defence mainframe)? Sorry, I must respectfully disagree. He was entrusted with the ultimate secrets and betrayed his race by opening them up for base reasons.

      @albert4860 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@paulc1665 Obviously that was wrong, even if he acted out of ignorance. But again, the colonials were not even aware of this.
      They just enjoy treating Baltar like garbage, even in this scene they seem to have more respect for the cylons DIRECTLY responsible for the genocide than for Baltar.
      Baltar is my favorite character on this show, has some of the best character development and an amazing redemption arc.

      @@albert4860 but it was baltar that was directly responsible for the genocide. Without him the Cylons couldn't have carried out their attacks. And what's more, he knows this. That's why he reacted so fearfully when he was almost exposed before.
