I really love that Adama is relatively short. It’s something about being imposing without being specifically physically imposing that makes Adama seem all the more terrifying when he gets in peoples faces like this.
The actor is 5'9 which is also average height of a man in USA. Average height of those 7 credited characters is also 5'9. Of those seven three are shorter and three are taller. Shortest character (Roslin) is 2.75 inch shorter and tallest (Tigh) is 2.75 inch taller than Adama. I'd say Adama's height, at least in that scene, was average.
I had a middle school teacher like that, except he was legit short physically. But, the man carried himself proudly as men should. One of those people who carries great self-respect. He didn’t have to demand the same of his students, but we did all the same by following his example. Great teacher & gentleman.
Dean Stockwell portrayed some of the most entertaining paradoxes with Cavill. The atheist clergyman. The flesh and blood that wanted to be a machine. The nihilist that has the longest term plans out of most of the show’s cast. The guy in the group who lives more seriously than everyone else, but treats everything like a joke in front of the crowd. Definitely one of my favorite characters.
Lucy’s understated performance as she goes toe to toe with Adama is priceless. Stockwell shines as the more vocal and delicious character, but Lawless deserves her credit as well.
EJO has such a commanding presence on and off camera. At the BSG reunion on Chicago, I was waiting in line for photo ops and he came down the hallway. I shouted out "Admiral on deck!", people stood at attention and saluted, and without losing his stride or that intimidating scowl, he saluted back.

Adama *wants* to find Earth, but if it exists (and the Eye of Jupiter rather strongly proves it does), then the Cylons *need* to find it. Galactica can always find another world to settle on (they found New Caprica after all), but if there is a 13th tribe of humanity out there in the stars, the Cylon War will never be over.
@DDX More reason to deny it to the cylons at all costs. To me at least, that's the main reason why Adama would go as far as to threaten with the use of nukes sacrificing his own son and many invaluable people. If Earth DID exist, and was inhabited, giving away it's location to the cylons would put it's population at risk.

One of the things that I've always appreciated about sci-fi TV show producers (I guess that it's them, anyways) is how they're willing to cast actors from past sci-fi movies and TV shows. I think that it's nice because more often than not, it seems that many of these actors have been typecast out of work, so it seems like there's this unspoken agreement among people who make TV shows to hire past actors who've worked in the genre. The two cylons in this scene for example. Or in the current Flash TV show, where I recall seeing 3 actors from the 90's Flash TV show being cast. It warms my heart to see this sort of respect for these actors being used by the genre that may have typecast their careers otherwise. But it's also a bit of fan service too.
It's also a matter of the available talent pool. You can usually tell by the actors whether the tv show was filmed in Los Angeles, Vancouver or New Zealand.
That's it? Your connection is the Flash? Because you watch the CW Flash, which made you watch the 90's Flash due to the multi verse thing they did. No mention of Quantum leap? No mention on Miami Vice? No mention of Star Craft? Blade Runner? Xena: Warrior "Who made a shortage on tissues during the 90's because of horny teen boys" Princess!??! I'm glad to catch this and be reminded of one of the best shows ever made! The late nineties and noughties marked a quantum leap in the depth and quality of tv dramas. Many shows from that time surpassed their genre. There's been a lot of very good tv since but I think that Battlestar, The Wire and The Sopranos are still maybe the very best. One of the reasons for that is that from the late nineties onwards we were living in an era where cultural equality was the expected norm and it really felt like it. Look at the videos and shows of the day and they show strong women, vulnerable men, people of whatever race and sexuality - without it being a big deal. No staginess or virtue-signalling - we were past all that.

This show could do some of the best twin duplicates seen in any other sci-fi show all the rest of them just make us sorry as a temp of showing the same actor as somebody else a cut and paste not this damn sure it was like watching two damn people interact with each other they trapped it in Supergirl but it just playing sucked when they created red daughter oh, well I don't want to go there because Super Girls season 5 is going to suck Melissa Benoist looks all fat and shit she got a fat face to me that's a sign of pregnancy
The idea was that if the 13th colony was isolated and free of the troubles of the other 12 colonies then perhaps it would have had a uninterrupted technological advancements and going by there own worlds that perhaps the 13th would be technologically advanced. That it might have carved out its own sphere of influence with a starships and similar. If it didn't then at least it would be technologically advanced enough for them to help it get up to speed quickly with the technology the colonies had to beef up defensive measures before the Cylons eventually found it. Guess they figured the 13th would accept lost brothers and sisters.

Goodness could you imagine them jumping to Earth just prior to Halo 2 when the 300 strong Orbital Defense Grid was still intact and Cortana was at her peak? Cortana would roflstomp cylon cyberwarfare suites. Or imagine they showed up to Mass Effect during the Reaper invasion and the Cylons and Colonials alike are just... "wtf did we just step into? Let's just turn around and pretend this never happened..."

Huh, battlestar galactica as a historical docu-drama...who'd have thought that?
So what did the Eye of Jupiter turn out to be? It wasn't an artifact to bring-up to the surface. It could be argued that for D'Anna, the eye reveled for her the the final five. What did it do for the fleet?

During the whole quest to find Earth, before it was all revealed, I always wondered why they thought Earth would want anything to do with their war
