It's awesome to see Luca get another opportunity to see that Sailing can be pleasant experience and that it's not always a uncontrollable tormenting freighting journey every time you venture out on a sail.

I was a day behind, my car is loaded and I am off on my cross country off grid car camping trip in the am, gone for a over a month....hoping to teach myself some professional editing skills during my time away....so glad to see this tonight before I go to sleep. I get such a happiness and calm from your videos, so excited to part of magic carpet patreon too now. Safe travels my friends....I’ll be watching from a different state each week....ps...spent the day making a few pans of your bread to take with me...😘

Thank you for the wonderfully poetic explanation of boat life, both the good, and the sometimes not so good.

Maya, God has truly blessed you with the poetic gift of story telling. Your calming voice, along with scenery and wonderful music is indeed a gift for your viewers! Both of you are very talented. I enjoy watching Aladino, maneuver the boat in the tight docking spaces. He surely is blessed as well. God bless and keep you both happy, healthy and safe. Take care. -CarrieJo-

Maya, this is another of your adventures where I truly wish YT would let me give you 3-4 thumbs up. 💚👍👍👍👍
I have to vote with Anna on this one. What could be better than live music on a lovely, lazy sail with scenic views? 🙏
You have two thoughtfully beautiful friends there. And maybe a little sneaky.😁
🙏Best wishes from the Northern Gulf of Mexico.

In Friesland you can even go shopping with your sailboat. In the town of Stavoren there is a Coop Supermarket with it's own docks.

I have enjoyed your channel for some time, you are certainly doing a fabulous job of promoting sailing and the spirit of sailing. My wife and I sail these days the North Channel in Ontario Canada, and prior to this sailed the BC coast from Victoria to southern Alaska and the Swedish coast from my native country. Continue your great channel.

Just recently found your channel and really enjoying it. The way you talk us true your travels Maya is really fantastic and I really love your voice. And the technical know how of Aladino is really stunning. Now started with the videos on the beginning of your adventure and already in the second season. Your music, the singing of your friend .. in one word Wauw. I live in the Netherlands and mostly sail with my even smaller sailboat (23ft Daïmio) in Friesland and the IJsselmeer. In a view weeks the season starts again, finely.. Keep up the good word !

Ah the options you have when you live on a sailboat. You can pretty much sail with the wind to please Anika and the temperature cold for Maya or warm for Luca. You can actually sail a lot or a little. One of the things I enjoy about the videos is seeing the subscribers number getting closer to 100K every week. Great job and thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you, I have motored from Aalst to Amsterdam with our Dutch friends. In the outer reaches of the waterways, there is a toll to open bridges which helps pay for the bridge operator and that is collected as you said but on a pole which has the CLOG attached by a rope and swung out to the boat to collect the toll.

    Bridges,
Those wonderfull contraptions that, most times, seem to open immediately whenever a small boat with a mast arrives.
As if the king is on board!
That's about how it will look for the car drivers that have to wait for the gates of the opened bridge.
So that's also why the Dutch sailors try to pass the bridge as fast as possible, not by using speed but by perfect timing.
The sailors first clue are the gates closing for the cars.
Now adjust your speed so you'll be at the bridge when the bridge is almost fully open.
The speed at which the bridge opens helps you to adjust your speed.
Officially you have to wait until the red light goes out, but most times we are already passing the bridge when that happens.
By shortening the time the bridge is open we HOPE the car drivers don't get aggravated, and the bridge keeper is willing to let us pass quickly next time. Also it's just nice for everyone when they don't have to wait unnecessarily for us.
