    • @kefeshebernard
      @kefeshebernard  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oooh, yes I know a lot of people who weren't sure which was a better fit for them. I would definitely suggest that you consider the nature of these subjects as I think they can seem quite similar but are actually very different! Sociology is a lot of essays and qualitative information, psychology does too! But psychology does also has some maths and science in it!

      If you are interested in inequality and social justice -ie others- tale sociology, if you are interested in yourself and you think psychology can help you with your problems then take thar. Both subjects are more academic than your other choices so be aware of that.

    the stereotype that a level sociology is easy actually baffles me. im doing a level sociology in year 13 and it is THE HARDEST subject out of my three, the other two being law and spanish. the concepts are highly detailed and complex to understand, the exam board and exam techniques are SO hard to understand. if u say sociology is easy you know nothing about sociology

    Hey, I’m really really considering taking sociology as one of my a levels since I do it for GCSE and I am in love! However I’m debating taking it as the syllabus sounds quite general and hard to apply to certain areas of employment- but it really is my passion and i am in love with the subject. Do you know what kind of things you can apply what you learn in sociology to?

    • @kefeshebernard
      @kefeshebernard  4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Yes! If anything, i would say that sociology was one of the best subjects for applying to real life as you literally are looking at real contemporary society. We did the education, family, crime and beliefs units. All of them looked at the parents which exists and then used sociological theories to explain this. Im not sure what its like at GCSE though so not sure how to explain the comparison! It is also considered a "facilitating subject" which means that a lot of uni courses will consider it to be useful for the degree if you are not sure what to pick :)

      hey ayesha! i did take biology psychology and sociology and im in year 13 rn! Its definitely hard work, but i feel like every a level has pros and cons. I think psychology is my favourite subject, but i do like the way biology is taught and the exam style etc. Id say biology content is the hardest to understand definitely but psychology has quite a lot of content to remember. I feel like sociology isn't really for me that much but that's not a fault with the subject its just my opinion i guess. I knew i wanted to def take bio and psych but sociology was one i took because i didn't 100% know what else to take.
      I think as a combination though they work really well together because for things like the research methods in sociology, we already did research methods in psych so it makes it easier etc. how are you finding them so far and good luck! :)@@ayeshatahir2170

      i do art and i find it fun but there’s alot of research pages to do and writing (mostly when u get to year 11). Some people in my class hate it because they took it as a ‘fun’ subject but it can get stressful as it is easy to get behind in your work. If u stay on top of your work its fun and you’ll be fine!

    • @benji6638

      sociology in yr 10 is quite straight forward as you do family and education first tear and in yr 11 sociology gets a bid harder with crime and deviance since the content slight increases in difficulty and social stratification is actually quite easy since you can link every other topic you learned beforehand and apply it together

      Economics, Maths and Business studies is a good subject combination. If you're taking Maths, take it with a subject that it actually supports and one of them is Business Studies. In addition, Business Studies helps in your knowledge for Economics too since various topics are quite similar and some are basically the same. Generally, universities also prefer a subject combination where a student can work with business-based and economic knowledge with mathematical figures as it opens opportunities to not only study Business Studies and Economics themselves but the their financial aspects too.
