Our second game of the new General d'Armee 2 rules playing one of the scenarios from the Vitoria campaign book pitching French vs British and Portuguese in June 1813. We were working our way through the rules so we didnt get the game completed but it was still fun. Mistakes will have been made of course!

Great video. 8.38, Skirmishers don’t drop a Die for shooting at Skirmishers. 👍

Great Job Gents I'm reading through Scott's suggestions for correction to improve my own game! A blast to watch. You guys are awesome 👍

We found this scenario to be tough on the British. A lot of ground to cover and the French pull back constantly. Perhaps use of forwards to move up faster or work a brigade around the flank? Also the flank manoeuver CinC tasking can get that British reinforcement brigade up closer and into the action sooner.

Yes I can see that challenge as Jono was lucky with his activations and even then only just started to crack me

16.00 When artillery fire solid shot (effective range or long range) the casualties are on the close order troops nil on the Skirmishers.

Oh OK missed that but kinda makes sense

Artillery moving and unlimbering one CD only. Artillery prolonging wheeling one CD only. British are drilled. Plus one cD when firing. For this scenario French reserve brigade come on when a French brigade breaks or after the British reinforcements come on. Plus I don’t think there are on table reserves anymore. A French force of three brigades now roll four ADC dice.

It’s interesting how to play scenarios from v1 to v2 then. I’m happy with the way we did it but thanks for the artillery clarification

59.04. Units that provide support in the charge phase can’t shoot in the charge phase. A unit may not fire in the Fire Phase if it undertook any action in the Charge Phase. This includes acting
as a support, regardless of whether the re-roll provided by that unit was used or not. See rule 12.1

Great I think that we got that one after discussion!

Defending supports CAN BE from different Brigades. Attacking Supports must be from the same Brigade.

Hi Dom, great video and channel. May I ask what was the music playing during the movement phase please? Thanks, Darren.

Natural 12 on firing gives a destiny roll also...

24.01. The firing procedure is: side A fires Skirmishers. Side B fires Skirmishers. Side A fires Artillery then side B fires Artillery. Finally volleys are fired, SidecA then B. 😃👍

Yeah we forgot that at the start but corrected as we went along. The week before we had played Black Powder so probably got confused

Forwards is 2 XD6 + 10cm PLUS their normal movement for the formation they are in.

Garrisons (unless recruits) fire with 5 Skirmish Casualty Dice. So like a BSL to a degree

Infantry can charge through their own Skirmishers but cavalry can’t charge through their own Skirmishers. Inf and cavalry can charge through enemy Skirmishers

If the skirmishers are at 50mm or less they are no longer a skirmish screen.

Artillery can’t fire through their own Skirmishers. It looks like they might be doing that sometimes though I can’t say for sure. 😬
