    When you spin do you move forward and do the spinning hook kick?

    When you're throwing those kicks, are you making contact with the heel or the sole of the foot? Thanks for the tips

    • @jawz2005
      @jawz2005 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both are fine. Back kick the heel is best. For the hook kick the sole of the foot produces a better whip and the heel is better for a heavier kick

      Heel, it hurts way more.

    • @Polishlancer
      @Polishlancer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Heel is way better, if you touch the hard part of the head with the sole you won't do a lot of damage. But if you hit it with the heel, it will be a bone / bone clash and that's gonna hurt him real bad

    Is it okay to throw the spinning kick in neutral or side stance with the front foot pointing forward like I do?

    Joe, while I very much appreciate your channel and think you do an excellent job providing useful information, there are many errors you make in this one. Amongst other systems, I possess a 4th degree in TKD, and, while the style is not the most effective for practical combat, I'm sure you know how much TKD practitioners develop their advanced kicking. So, I humbly offer the following critique:
    1) The traditional chamber you show with the knee up and foot down is garbage. It is inefficient, slower, creates an additional unnecessary step, and offers more telegraphing than directly raising the foot to knee level in one step. In other words, the chamber should immediately point your heel at the target, so your leg is basically parallel to the ground.
    2) When you execute your spinning hook kick, you are leaning a bit too much to one side (a common mistake) exposing your head to counters. Your head should be directly behind the kick at full extension. But you do an excellent job finishing the kicks.
    3) The "spinning" back kick is a complete misnomer. Properly executed, you do not spin (360°), at all, as you do with a spinning hook kick, a circular technique. It should correctly be called a "turning" back kick as it involves a 180° turn and is linear, not circular.
    4) When you step over the centerline to prep either kick, you should immediately place your stepping heel pointing at the target. Try it, and see how much this helps the spin/turn. It also is like aiming for the technique.
    5) While I totally understand your desire to avoid the step over, so as not to telegraph, performing these tehniques from your fighting stance causes your lead leg to impede the kicks, disrupt balance during their execution, and reduce speed, power, and accuracy. The solution is to either hide the step over while bouncing, or employ these kicks as follow-up techniques behind others like the round kick (which creates spinning/turning momentum), landing your foot in the proper step over position.
    6) One of the biggest gripes I have is watching fighters futilely initiate an attack with spinning/turning kicks...bad idea and almost NEVER works. These techniques should only ever be used as interrupting counters to an opponent's attack or as a follow-up to other techniques. Watch fighters initiate with these kicks, and take notice how often it actually works...maybe 1 time out of 100, if that.
    I hope you can appreciate my feedback and find useful value in it. Thanks for your excellent content!🙏
