There is a gla deleted mission call black Sheep, GLA basically go and "cleanse" entire town with the tractors but was replace with the current second mission to steal 40,000 dollars instead.
Figure the black sheep mission would take place between 2nd and 3rd mission of the current gla mission.
The mission can be downloaded but I haven't try it.

For those interested, the competitive scene of this game is still alive and well with money tournaments. This year the prize pool of the generals zero hour world series is $13k

My 100% fact-based analysys on "who made c&c generals" : Texas sub contractors. You can't reach this level of unapologetic "yeahaaaaaaa 'murica" without them

I'm still waiting for a remaster of Generals. And no one can tell me otherwise. Generals was the first Command and Conquer game I play.

Great video, love generals. Gonna disagree that it’s the best gameplay, imo CNC3/Kanes Wrarh is goated

I think it's my own personal preference. After Generals I got a bit disillusioned with C&C games and moved onto games like Dawn of War and Company of Heroes.

Generals as a game started out as a game that was supposed to be a new Tiberium setting game then changed into something else featuring a Khan Empire (that later became china) and then again into what eventually was released as we know it, this is why you see some unit designs that kind of feel out of place (or how the Comanche doesn't look accurate to the real design) because they were intended for a different setting at first.
I was actually around on a lot of forums back in the day because my interest in modding the game (something i still do to this day) and soaked up a lot of this info because people were really into digging up the history of this games development and the BETA and even Alpha content.

Another fun fact, there is a Generals CGI trailer that was showcased during E3 2001 if I'm not mistaken. The GLA faction originally planned to have aircraft units, but somehow it was cut late in production or middle of production. Not only that, in that 2001 trailer you can see some early units, and building models for Generals.
One last thing. I kinda noticed something about the CGI trailer, is that, i think the game was originally supposed to be made for multiplayer, because we see 3 different Generals in 1 room. Which kinda explains a bit onto why Generals campaign felt a bit rushed.

I personally love the sound design for the unit voices. Even to this day, over a decade and half later I still remember them quite clearly. Sure it some of the lines might be found problematic nowadays gor some people, but I still find them funny and quite memorable.

The line "Can we have some new shoes" seems to have been permanently imprinted in my memory in a way that birthdays, PIN codes and passwords never seem to have been able to.

The fact that this came out so soon after 9/11 boggles my mind. I still remember the intro and my friend pointing out George w. Bush, just because his lips made an appearance lol

I think you might be on to something with the potentially awkward results of C&C style live action scenes depicting ethnic groups in the time of Generals. There is always the risk that stereotypes used in a game will age poorly and come back to haunt it later. For instance the great Houses of the Inner Sphere are rife with 1980's American bigortry. The honourable bushido masters of Kurita and their Pearl Harbouring of Trellwan; the sneaky Liao who you simply cannot scrute. It all makes it very uncomfortable when looked at through the lens of a normal person in the year 2023.
