These are my notes Elisha Long | Mental numbness | 7 ways to feel alive Mental numbness, meaning apathy or depression. *First point: You can’t think yourself out of being numb.* Drugs and stuff like motivational videos, music, caffeine are the wrong way to go about this numbness. *What should you do instead? Seek challenge.* You feel really good and alive when you explore and concur new territory. Most people do not feel truly free. This captivity makes you feel numb. That’s why we seek drugs / stimuli (e.g. masturbation), to feel alive. Monkeys only start jerking it after being put in captivity. *TIPS* *Do not lay in bed in the morning thinking* Get up immediately. Do not reflect and think about life in this state of numbness, start doing something instead. Why: The meaning is found in the action. The emotion is found in motion. *Expand your space. Explore new territory.* Discover new places and do new things. The feeling of aliveness is in the challenge, it’s in doing the thing that doesn’t typically fit you. *Get sun* You need vitamin D, from the sun or from a pill. It gives you vitality. *Use humor* it’s like a twisted sort of gratitude. It twists the frame, it changes your outlook. Humor is personal and at best has it’s source in your personal philosophy. Watch some comedians. *Help someone* Take every opportunity to help people. Make people happy. Be a great human being. Treat situations and people empatheticly, like you would love other people to behave and treat you. Have an interactive and social mentality. *Get a woman in your life. Get a partner* It helps you get out in the world more and do things you do not usually do. Find a girl that’s younger than you. Because in a good relationship, it’s that craziness, her emotions that teach you to be more stoic, to be more manly. It’s all about dynamic. Yin and Yang. *Heartbreak* is the red pill for relationships. It will teach you how to be better about relationships. To be a guy that is in control and stays true to himself and inside his grounded nature. *Keep your mental diet healthy* Feed your brain the right kind of stuff. Stuff (e.g. music) that makes you inspired, happy, energetic. The input creates the output. Don’t listen to apathetic music all the time or at all. *Challenge for the week: help someone, make someone feel good*

What you said about heartbreak being the relationship red pill is exactly on point bro! It brings immense pain and depression but if you learn from it you'll be so much better after. And you'll understand that women aren't the perfect creatures you thought before. They're often illogical, they operate on a whole different wavelength, and you can't pander to them or put them on a pedestal any longer. It's a beautiful freeing thing actually!
Oh man I miss being a kid riding my bike to my friend’s house to see if they were home and what they were up to. I hope there are kids today still doing the same.

Maybe it’s just as simple that you can find ”fun” easier at home now than you could 10 years ago with your friends. If you play a video game you barely have to work at all to have fun. For example we played a game and i cant remember the name but you chose a country in sand and the goal was to get all the other countries. You jumped, you stood on one leg, you threw sticks. When you play a video game you can get the same rewards but with less effort.

I was scared and found myself rotting away. Now I have a purpose in life to make money to work on my dream to build cars.

Elisha, I just watched your video on moving out of your parents house. I'm stuck right now. I'm almost 20 living at my parents house. I live quite a bit away from downtown or school. Recently the fraternity I'm in bought a new house a has a room availible, cheap rent (more than cut in half) of what you would normally pay. I want to move in because itll be a big step and I can grow but I feel scared and just the idea of "you become the 5 people you surround yourself with" keeps popping up in my head. The situation and opportunity for moving out is incredible but I have these small fears holding me back. What should I do?
Thank you for all the great content bro! Really change my life for the better! Btw a quick question Elisha, ive been trying nofap lately, but i keep failing. Do you have any tip that could help me?
Have you ever been fired? And how do you feel about working jobs you hate? I’m 16 and just got fired at Chick-Fil-A over a big misunderstanding and it pissed me off. I’m not too bummed out though because my last day would’ve been this Friday anyways. But I’m curious on how people work jobs like that all their lives.
Your videos have helped me start to read, meditate, and workout. But I have a few questions for some advice (Background: I’m 17 with a fairly well off family) 1: I work at a grocery store that pays $9 an hour and is very easy. However, I feel like I’m wasting my time there since it isn’t fulfilling. I’ve thought about landscaping or other jobs like that that would be more challenging but would pay less. What do you recommend? 2: I broke up with a girlfriend about a week ago and am somewhat over the sadness (together for 3 months) however I feel like I could get her back at some point. How would you recommend going about it?
1. Do it life's to short to be staying in one place when you know you can do better. 2. You're very young I would focus on getting with as many women as possible to build experience. Don't obsess with being with one women.
I will be going to college after school. (Engineering and will likely go into an internship) It was mostly distance. We lived 40 minutes away but for high schoolers that’s a bit of a drive. There was one day I could tell something was up so I called her. It was about 2 hours long and we seemed to work it out. 4 days later we meet up and broke up. I definitely was more upset than her and I started interrogating her in her car after we broke up which I do regret. I truly felt powerless from that. She did say we could still be friends if we wanted to talk again in a few weeks but I’m not sure if that was true or not. I think now I’m more or less looking for comfort rather than getting back together. The breakup really made me start rewatching some of your videos and going more into monk mode.

Rookie tip, but i find that it's good to work it off with some heavy exercise, maybe just some running. Really gets your mind off of it.
Sleep thank you bro, i will try that
Getting a women motivates and helps you socialise more.
If you're in the first couple minutes of the video trying to figure out if you want to keep watching..... Keep watching lol
But I have a few questions for some advice
(Background: I’m 17 with a fairly well off family)
1: I work at a grocery store that pays $9 an hour and is very easy.
Are you going to college after highschool.
Why did you and the girl breakup
I will be going to college after school. (Engineering and will likely go into an internship)
It was mostly distance.
3 months hahahahah
