Wow!!! I felt this in my soul. At 74 it was nice to hear that she does not count the days left but enjoys every day in the now. I think everyone in their 70s and 80s think about how long we have left and this has put a wonderful perspective on that. I feel honored to be growing older. It is not a question of age. Every one young or old can die every minute. When people are mouning that they are getting old I say you have two options in life to die young or to die old so we have to be so grateful every day that we have another day in life. In the Jewish tradition there is a morning pray which means gratitude to God that I wake up in the morning. "Mode Ani".
Everything in your video is perfect. I am 73, wrinkled and gimpy, and I agree with you 100%. I just want to add that for animals, food IS love. It is not separate. We easily forget that as humans we have free access to food most of the time, anywhere, any kind. Animals never know if or when their next meal will come, even pets. And they are grateful when it appears. This is love.

Когда я подходила, она всегда мне давала понюхать свежевыглаженое бельё, попробовать морковку или помидорку. А самое лучшее-это была баня по субботам. Бабушка заваривала свежий чай, потом мы парились, тёрлись грубой мочалкой, потом порка вениками, контрастный душ и домой, пить чай. Chronic mental illness has its challenges and one of them is to get a sense of meaning about our existence, something not too complicated that you can repeat every day, something that involves what you have to give, and what you can receive. Her words are so palpable, i can see myself asking those questions and find beauty in my days. Winters are especially hard with suicidal ideation, all the darkness, the season lasts for several long months here, you feel trapped. This is my new mantra as i'm turning 50 very soon. Thank you for the gift of words. I might not have her cheerful spirit, but, i could carry a bit of her with me.

I remember being scared of aging, which was not long ago. I remember looking at my forehead lines and just wanting to find some sort of cream to make them go away. Now, I embrace aging, because its a part of life, and this life is beautiful, flawed and all, its beautifully imperfect. This video had me smiling so much, I was honestly tearing up. I've always loved listening to and having conversations with older people. Films like this are my comfort in life; they feel like a warm conversation. I regret not having more time to bond with my grandparents, as they've already been taken by God. As for my other grandparents (my father's parents), I never had the chance to meet them. Wow!!! I felt this in my soul. At 74 it was nice to hear that she does not count the days left but enjoys every day in the now. I think everyone in their 70s and 80s think about how long we have left and this has put a wonderful perspective on that. I feel honored to be growing older. When people are mouning that they are getting old I say you have two options in life to die young or to die old so we have to be so grateful every day that we have another day in life. Everything in your video is perfect. I am 73, wrinkled and gimpy, and I agree with you 100%. I just want to add that for animals, food IS love. It is not separate. We easily forget that as humans we have free access to food most of the time, anywhere, any kind. Animals never know if or when their next meal will come, even pets. And they are grateful when it appears. This is love.

" What can i hear, what can i see, what can i feel today?" That one phrase will help me in times of depression, and every other day when I wake up and feel like there's nothing for me. Chronic mental illness has its challenges and one of them is to get a sense of meaning about our existence, something not too complicated that you can repeat every day, something that involves what you have to give, and what you can receive. Her words are so palpable, i can see myself asking those questions and find beauty in my days. Winters are especially hard with suicidal ideation, all the darkness, the season lasts for several long months here, you feel trapped. This is my new mantra as i'm turning 50 very soon. Thank you for the gift of words. I might not have her cheerful spirit, but, i could carry a bit of her with me.

I remember being scared of aging, which was not long ago. I remember looking at my forehead lines and just wanting to find some sort of cream to make them go away. I've always loved listening to and having conversations with older people. Films like this are my comfort in life; they feel like a warm conversation. I regret not having more time to bond with my grandparents, as they've already been taken by God. As for my other grandparents (my father's parents), I never had the chance to meet them. I still long for that love and connection.

I'm 23 now. When i watching this video i can feel exactly what i was thought about my life but if compared to others at the same age, they don't know about the simple things. Nowadays, there are too much stuff things they care about. And for me, that is a problem for current era.

Thank you for this, and all your videos.I watched this having my coffee on my patio on a rainy 4th of July weekend...listening to the birds and the quiet of the morning.The hostas are about to have their flowers bloom any day now...I will turn 65 this month...and have learned it truly is the little things in life that you learn to appreciate as you get older...maybe because you realize...you don't know how much time you have left...but also my 9 year old inner child is still alive and well...and will never really allow me to totally "grow up"...Always enjoy the simplest pleasures...they are truly the most important...the best gifts...Happy Birthday America...!!! I so agree with all you say Don. I am also 65 this month and have recently retired from work. It has given me more time to appreciate the simple things which are important in life and, as you say, reconnect with my inner child who is still alive and well. I am so glad that this video reached my TH-cam! I've been feeling down lately, like im wasting my younger years and last night I randomly thought of me being old faster than i thought. The feeling of getting old scares me so much i couldn't sleep. These days, I feel like I'm just wasting my time while my peers are traveling, hanging out which I can't do often. I feel envious and sorry for myself. After watching this video i realised that it's okay to do nothing so spectacular everyday! I just have to live and find the beauty of simplicity.

If I can stay as positive as this lady is at her age I would have really achieved something. I think she is very right the key is acceptance. Absolutely agree with you - we all have our down unique set of circumstances, and we create our reality from there. It can be more tricky for those living in apartment blocks to access nature - but everywhere, all around us every day, we can find the beauty. In a local park or reserve, even just the birds in the city centre or the clouds before a rain storm - there is so much to make us smile. I always smile as I walk the streets and see beautiful birds, I thoroughly enjoy sunny days, the blue sky, the white clouds that changes patterns every now and then. Sunsets make my heart melt, oh how I love them, I love to see the ocean and feel the ocean breeze. There are so many things to love and enjoy all around us, we just have to slow down and take the time to notice.
