I watched this video a few months back, I didn't have the LED light then, I just thought the video looked interesting. Then this morning this LED strip turned up cheap on a Facebook ad, so I grabbed one. Then I searched for this video again. I really love how you explained those wire connectors. Sure it seems simple, but I like how you mentioned that you've seen things before that explained something and it made your life easier and of course everyone has to start somewhere. Call me old fashioned, but I thought that was pretty cool. Now I can't wait for my light to get here so I can have a crack at this. I got a new 2023 Ram about 6 months ago and it's white, so this video checks all the boxes! Thanks for such a simple video. truck looks awesome!
The easiest way to make sure it's centered is to measure and mark the center on the strip. Then mark the center on the grill. Start from the middle and work you way toward the ends.
I have a Refreshed 2022 Silverado 1500 RST. I installed this recently on my truck and maybe can help someone out there who may have some questions on this install with the same truck. Firstly I installed it on the actual hood of the truck in front of the weather strip(just my preference). You cannot see the light at all from installing it in this location(tape the light itself almost dead even to slightly proud of the edge of the hood). I ran the wires through the hood and grounded it to the negative battery terminal with a crimped electrical eyelet. The positive(red/hot wire) I ran to the engine fuse panel and used a fuse tap into fuse #28 (Park Lamp Mirror/Grill) using a micro2 5 amp fuse. The light draws about 2 amps so you don't need anything above 5 amps. When installing the fuse tap(install factory fuse on the bottom then the new fuse where the wire is part is) pay attention to the way you pull out the fuse from the panel, you will want to install the new fuse tap in the same direction. The orientation does matter so the spades should all be following in the correct direction.(watch a fuse tap video if you are unclear of what I mean.) It can potentially cause electrical issues if you do not have this orientation correct even though it will "work" either way you put it in. Those of you who have this truck know that when you hit the unlock button there is factory dynamic light show with the blinkers. When using fuse #28 the led light strip WILL activate as well when you unlock the doors in-sync with the front blinkers. The dynamic LED light will NOT stay on constant with just the DRLs on during the day. When the head lights are on at night the LED light will do its automation when the truck is started and stay illuminated until you shut the truck off. Hope this helps!
@@chinos450ify I did not make a video. I just commented on this gentleman’s video since people seem to be asking about other vehicles that he doesn’t have. If you follow his basic install, mine was similar other than attaching it to the hood itself. I layed out the fuse that I feel is what most people would want to happen when having this type of light.

Great job on this video, and great truck you have! I just received my LED strip for my Nissan Pathfinder 2024. Quick question....within the fuse box, which fuse outlet would I use? Thanks for your help!
Definitely one of the better video walk-thrus I’ve seen, so thank you for that. I’m curious what fuse you chose to use. I have one of these strips for my Colorado and I’m admittedly not that “auto savvy”. I assumed I’d put it in my headlight fuse (and I still may), but that is in a separate fuse block inside the cab. Thanks in advance for the advice…
Thank you bro! So when I purchased some grille lights in the past the company gave me a wiring diagram on what fuse to use when connecting them so they turn on and off with the truck. I’m not sure where else you could do it but I would imagine anything spliced to the drls, headlights should work just fine.

Nice video and install. Been thinking about getting that for my Ram. Another question for you. Where’d you get the white outlines for the RAM on the front grill?

1- Very interesting and looks great. But based on my own experience, I'm not sure if I like to see connecting a line to my battery. Generally, they all fail over time and you do see developing whitish eroding residue at the connecting point, battery malfunction, parasitic drainage, premature battery dead, failing in smog tests (Unexplained check engine, etc), or worst, fire hazards. 2- Very smart of you not to trust the adhesive that came with the strap. That is the place this kind of product notoriously fails! Then appreciate your gut feeling to go with the deformed package and not return it impulsively, probably like the earlier buyer. 3- Now my questions: Is this strap cut able so you can adjust it to the length of your car or location or you must buy the correct length, after measuring the area of need, precisely. And the other question: I see a beautiful center for the strap, where the display on turning on, starts, that is matching the center of your truck's width. Is this something adjustable or again, the exact center length of the strap you are getting and if so, was it marked clearly? Then do you have different modes or turn it off totally? Thanks for the shared info.
Hey I appreciate the comment!! 1. This led strip is not connected straight to the battery, it’s tapped into a fuse. I rarely will hook anything straight to the battery. 2. Thank you, I like to do things right the first time and saw clearly that the adhesive provided wouldn’t last so $10 extra wasn’t a problem for me. 3. The led strip came in a 70” size. There could possibly be other sizes but they advise not to cut it. Thankfully it was the exact size needed to fit my front end without modification. There’s no modes to change it just does the startup sequence when the truck is turned on.

Hey, great video just ordered myself the light strip and parts! Wondering tho, when you put it on the grill i cant see really but when you close your hood does the rubber weather strip on the hood sit on top of the light strip, or does the light strip sit in front of the hood weather strip?
I have the blue one on my 2019 chevy. I also put 2 blue led light strips on the bottom of my grill as well. I wish I could post a video comment, so that way I could should you...I think it looks really good...
Instead of starting at the left or right you should’ve started in the center. Mark the center of the light strip, mark the center of the truck, line up the 2 lines and go from there. No packing tape needed. 👍🏼
Rather than duct tape, which will deteriorate, as it gets exposed to weather, why not use either heat shrink tape or marine grade heat shrink tubing (which has an adhesive and will give a waterproof seal)? They both come in black and give a professional look to an installation.
Great videos. Can you make a video once with the best fitting grill led lights for this kind of grille. Lots of led lights I find but none really perfectly fit.
Great video my brotha! you made it look easy. Question, would this install work on any car? , (how you merge the cables to the fuse box) I have a Hyundai tucson, and I would love to have that. Thanks for your help
Thank you bro! To be honest I’m not sure about your car. It definitely will work but you’d have to look what fuse to connect to that activates when you turn the car on.
Still enjoying the lights? I was also curious, do these lights stay on the entire time you're driving, or are they on a timer of sorts and cutoff after a short period? Great tutorial by the way!
Thank you!! After some months the light finally had an area that stopped working so I removed it. While I had it, it was great. It did do stay on the whole time the truck is on though unless you wire in a switch.
Wow nice mods Where did you get the lights in your grill? Also is there a controller for the strip lights and one more thing how hard was it to pull the glass mirror off?
Thank you bro! The lights I use to have in my grill were absolute garbage from bullseye customs. The strip is controlled by a fuse and comes on when the truck does. My drivers side mirror was easier than my passenger but for some people it’s the opposite
Hey brother awesome video as I have a 23 rebel I want to do this and I am a fellow firefighter. Lieutenant in the Myrtle beach SC area. My question is when you added the better 3m tape did you remove the China tape completely or just peel back the red plastic and stick it tape to tape? I’m asking because I only wanna do it once lol. Thanks in advance .
🤔 You did well for yourself but you left out some very important information that others should know! You failed to tell them about tapping into the ACC fuse so that the strip only lights up when you start the car!
He showed exactly what fuse to tap in to, on most 1500's the ACC fuse isnt in the external fuse box, he used the ATMM fuse, which I believe is F38 on the 1500.
I also watched other video with exactly same product and it says for different fuse location. Which one is better i am confuse th-cam.com/video/cXShmoMt6PE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UHLPNXBLtLkDvwfz
Great video! I have a 2022 Limited which has a rubber gasket on the hood that covers the gap between hood and grill. Is it recommended to remove that ?
I have a 2019 Limited. I used the F38 fuse location. It had a 10 amp. I just used two 10 amp fuses by using the spare. I finished it off by replacing the red tape on the top with black electrical tape. Looks decent. Let’s see how long it lasts. 😂
Can you please put the link to your headlights in the comments? I have the same lights just reflector leds and I need to upgrade to these projectors asap. Would be greatly appreciated!!!!
they do make a 3m adhesive primer pads - like a alcohol pad - you only need one (about 3 dollars) - it wll make that 3m tape stick to the grill like iron
Yes I use those for other stuff on my truck but this was more of a trial run on this strip. Wasn’t sure if I wanted it there or between the hood and rubber piece
Love your truck 1st off but I have a question what 2 fuses are u exactly putting into the fuse tap what are both the # of the fuses and what do both fuses do like are those the fuses for headlights or daytime running light fuses
I want to turn it on when I unlock the door ( head lights turn on for 30 sec ) but , Idk if there is a few for that , So I want to turn on unlocking doors and when truck runs ... I can't find the fuse for headlights !! good video
Thanks man! If you tap it into the side marker lights or mirror lights that shine down I’m sure you’d be able to have them come on with unlocking. Not sure though I haven’t tried
Great video. Thanks for the links. Mines is installed already but not as neat as yours. I will get the rest of the accessories and re do it. Much appreciated 🙏
Why did you add TWO fuses to that fuse holder? Also, you bought the 70” LED strip, how did you know you wouldn’t have too much left over at the finish end? Or that you’d even have enough to get to the finish?
I found someone who purchased the 70” with my truck and they told me it fit perfectly. I taped it down to see where to start and finish as well. You could probably get away with just a 15amp fuse but I doubled up so it doesn’t blow when adding more components to it.
Does it not already have the double-sided tape installed on the light strip? Then you just peel it from the centre after you mark the centre of your hood grill and then remove the tape and slowly stick it to your upper hood grill?
I love Trucks! I am sure most of your subscribers are male, but for this girl I love fixing up my ride too! great Tutorial.

Shit go hard with those headlights bro!! I want that on mines!!
Appreciate it brother!
That came out tight. Good job and nice vid. :)
Thank you brother!
Rather than duct tape, which will deteriorate, as it gets exposed to weather, why not use either heat shrink tape or marine grade heat shrink tubing (which has an adhesive and will give a waterproof seal)? They both come in black and give a professional look to an installation.
I didn’t use duct tape lol
Looks amazing. Great step by step!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching
Great videos. Can you make a video once with the best fitting grill led lights for this kind of grille. Lots of led lights I find but none really perfectly fit.
Thank you!! That actually doesn’t sound like a bad idea 👍🏼
@@FirefighterBuell Thanks for your reply! I really appreciate your wisdom. Your truck looks awesome. Keep on Trucking!!
Thank you brother!! ✊🏼
On a different note, what size tires and rims are those? They look great!
Thanks man! 35x12.5r20 and 20x12 -44
Beautiful truck!! What rims/tires are those??
I appreciate it! Kenda Koehler RT tired and black rhino arsenal rims
Very cool add! What did you use to control the light show at the end? Tazer?
Appreciate that Man! It’s just the video that made it look that way lol
Thanks a lot for the video bud, it helped me a lot and made the installation so much easier. Bad ass truck, I have a similar one!! Be safe.
Anytime bro glad it helped!
Very nice truck and that LED light looks cool. Where did you buy the headlights?
Thank you! Headlights were custom ordered from Vland
@@FirefighterBuellcustom?
Yes they were custom made through Vland. I purchased second hand
Bro, that's a clean Ram. Very nice. Where did you get the white outline Ram lettering for the front badge?
Thank you brother! If you check the other video I posted of the reflective concepts overlays it will tell you all you need to know 👍🏼
Still enjoying the lights? I was also curious, do these lights stay on the entire time you're driving, or are they on a timer of sorts and cutoff after a short period? Great tutorial by the way!
Thank you!! After some months the light finally had an area that stopped working so I removed it. While I had it, it was great. It did do stay on the whole time the truck is on though unless you wire in a switch.
@@FirefighterBuell Awesome, glad to hear they at least lasted a few months. Great idea on the switch too. Thanks!
Very nice job- very simple install...Thanks
Awesome! Can’t wait till we install ours very nice video…😊
Appreciate that!!
79in looks better, it goes almost all the way on top of headlights. Corners are pretty easy to fit inside.
Do you have a picture of the 79 on your truck? Now I’m debating which one to get
I don't know how to attached the picture to TH-cam. Strip just longer and goes to the end of the headlight.
@@st.s.3339 let me see your truck with the 79in on it
Prove it big dog
Let's see the 79 bro bro
Wow nice mods Where did you get the lights in your grill? Also is there a controller for the strip lights and one more thing how hard was it to pull the glass mirror off?
Thank you bro! The lights I use to have in my grill were absolute garbage from bullseye customs. The strip is controlled by a fuse and comes on when the truck does. My drivers side mirror was easier than my passenger but for some people it’s the opposite
One more question, where did you get the vinyl wrap for you center console?
One more question, where did you get the vinyl wrap for you center console?
It’s an actual plastic piece and I purchased it from Amazon. Search korlot carbon fiber
The new kit comes with a white wire (old one was black) and red wire. The manufacturer told me it’s a newer improvement of wires.
Hmm that’s weird. I just got a replacement and it’s the old one apparently
What’s up LT! ✊🏼 I just stuck it to the cheaper tape and it help for as long as I had it on there with no issues at all.
@@FirefighterBuell than, you brother, Great info. Seems they don't last very long so as cool as they are I may go a different t route
Hey there .thank you both for your service. I also have a 23 rebel . Did u have any issues put it on . And what fuse did u use ? Thanks
Nice jobs. One of the better videos so far
Thank you!! I appreciate the feedback!!
Yo that's clean!! I'm definitely getting one!!
You definitely should!!
Great vid...but how do you know where to install the fuses in the fuse box?
You just need to figure out which fuse gets power when the truck is started
Good looking clean truck. Thanks for sharing your video.
Thank you I really appreciate the feedback!
what tires and rims u rocking and solid vid btw
Thank you brother! 35x12.5r20 Kenda klever with 20x12 black rhino
-44 i assume ?@@FirefighterBuell
@damplips3212 yes that’s correct
ahh just ordered my setup the other day what lift kit did u run with?@@FirefighterBuell
Just ordered one. If you have a bug shield that mounts to the fasteners under the hood theres no room for the lights to fit between the hood and grill
Yea I can see how that would definitely be a problem
What wheel set up are you running?? Looks good bro
Thank you brother! 35x12.5r20 Kenda klever with 20x12 -44 black rhino arsenals
Great video thank you. You answered all my questions.
Awesome! Thank you for watching!
🤔 You did well for yourself but you left out some very important information that others should know! You failed to tell them about tapping into the ACC fuse so that the strip only lights up when you start the car!
What does this mean. Could you explain, please?
He showed exactly what fuse to tap in to, on most 1500's the ACC fuse isnt in the external fuse box, he used the ATMM fuse, which I believe is F38 on the 1500.
This video isn't just a Dodge video, so an explanation of what type of fuse would be useful tbh.
He showed the fused he just didn't show or tell you the name of the location
I also watched other video with exactly same product and it says for different fuse location. Which one is better i am confuse

Great video! I have a 2022 Limited which has a rubber gasket on the hood that covers the gap between hood and grill. Is it recommended to remove that ?
Hey thanks man. No it’s fine to leave it
I have a 2019 Limited. I used the F38 fuse location. It had a 10 amp. I just used two 10 amp fuses by using the spare. I finished it off by replacing the red tape on the top with black electrical tape. Looks decent. Let’s see how long it lasts. 😂
Haha sounds good let me know how it goes!
Update: It lasted 6 months. 😂
Thank you for the installation video. Next time keep some frog tape in stock!
No problem! And yea I gotta be more prepared next time lol
Looks pretty nice I’ve have a 2020 have to look into them
Can you please put the link to your headlights in the comments? I have the same lights just reflector leds and I need to upgrade to these projectors asap. Would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Your Ram is Clean 👌🏼
Thank you I appreciate it!!
Looks good on the white ram, not sure I would try it on any other color. I have the same form lights and they look sick!
Thank you brother! These are actually custom vlands though. Sorta same thing
Sweet, which rims/tires and inches of lift have you got on that baby?
Thank you brother! 35x12.5r20 Kenda klever RT and 20x12 -44 offset black rhino arsenals with 3.5” readylift kit
Nice truck. I want those headlights. What brand are the headlights?
They are 1 of 1 custom Vland Matrix headlights. I might possibly sell them soon
@@FirefighterBuell how come? Are you having issues with them? What are you switching 2?
Not a single issue. Sometimes I just like to switch things up. The new Alpharex nova series look cool so it’s a possibility
they do make a 3m adhesive primer pads - like a alcohol pad - you only need one (about 3 dollars) - it wll make that 3m tape stick to the grill like iron
Yes I use those for other stuff on my truck but this was more of a trial run on this strip. Wasn’t sure if I wanted it there or between the hood and rubber piece
What headlights are those, they are sick
They are custom ordered Vland Matrix headlights
Thanks for the video, I installed it and it looks cool!!!🎉
Awesome brother!! Glad to hear it!!
Love your truck 1st off but I have a question what 2 fuses are u exactly putting into the fuse tap what are both the # of the fuses and what do both fuses do like are those the fuses for headlights or daytime running light fuses
Thank you bro!! It comes factory with a 10amp fuse. I usually just double it. They are not connected to lights. The fuse is DTCM/ACT CL TEMP VLV
So 2 10 amp fuses? I'm curious as well. What size the yellow and blue fuses are. Thanks for the video bro.
I need those lights real nice bro 🔥💯🤟🏽👍🏽
Appreciate it! ✊🏼
Edits are better each vid 💯
Thank you bro!! ✊🏼
I love my 2019 Ram and enjoy keeping it clean. I must have been a fireman in a previous life. May God protect you.
Haha thank you brother i appreciate it!
Nice, that’s only a white LED not the RGB color light right . Need to know how to use the app and control the starting light mode .
Yes just plain white
Great video. Thanks for the links. Mines is installed already but not as neat as yours. I will get the rest of the accessories and re do it. Much appreciated 🙏
Anytime brother! Glad it helped!
Looks good however using shrink tube connectors would give it a clean watertight look
I agree. I use those from time to time, but the connection ended up being under the fuse box which protected it so I went with these.
Hey, are your led headlights aftermarket? If so, which brand?
Yes the are Vland Matrix headlights that are custom blacked out.
Nice video the only thing is what fuse you remove
F38
Bro, badass build!
Appreciate you bro
Always use a proper termination. Bare wire “works,” but is not secure long term.
Does it not already have the double-sided tape installed on the light strip? Then you just peel it from the centre after you mark the centre of your hood grill and then remove the tape and slowly stick it to your upper hood grill?
That’s correct!
