Great video as usual! I've looked at the PD Clip a couple of times, but there has been reports of them not playing well with the backplate support of the EM5.3, since they moved to plastic construction.
Love my camera clip. I got a 2nd hand peak design one along with the everyday messenger bag, from ebay, for a good price. Sometimes i put the clip on a rucksack strap as you suggest, especially if out hiking. Otherwise the clip lives on the side of the messenger bag so i can clip the body there if i need my hands free, or changing lens etc. I use a wrist strap not a neck strap, so being able to clip the camera onto the messenger bag is extra handy. Agree 100% the best place for the camera is in my hand! Love the grip on the olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark 2. Those cameras are a steal 2nd hand.
00:48 coffee and snacks is an absolute must have :)) on a photo. I usually feel tired after a couple of hours. A coffee pause is a good way to extend the pleasure for a couple hours more. I would love to have one of those camera clips. Problem is I have a sling bag and I don't know where I could put the clip. A harness maybe ?
Accessory number 6 woild definitely be a good travel mug for coffee! I've put one of these clips on my lowepro slingshot just on the main strap and it works for holding the camera but you can't really sling it around with the body in the clip The clips are originally meant to be clipped to a belt so that might work too? Although I've never found that as handy as having them on a strap myself
I got a camera clip last summer before I went on a vacation because I knew I would be wearing a pack(something I don't normally bother with around home). Since I also have a G9 and only have a few lenses(100-400 mostly lives on the lens, and I have a couple of wide/normal lenses), the pack would have been mostly empty, but since it was over 100 F(nearly 40 C) the pack was full of water bottles Edit: Yes, four-color Bic pens are a thing in the USA
Hi Eli does the HDMI out work on the G9 or does the app work okay? The app works okay on my G9 with the iPhone 11, virtually zero lag. In normal light you won’t see much if any difference between the GX8 and G9, I’ve found though that the GH5 onwards handled low light noticeably better than say prior gen cams like my GX80.
Hey! Yeah hdmi out and the app works absolutely fine, so I could always get an external monitor if needed - I will still use it, it's too nice of a camera to keep on the shelf
I was pretty down about it to be honest, I still use it occasionally just with the evf, but I'm taking this as a sign to upgrade to a newer M43 flagship at somepoint!
@@Elifarnhill I just got my used G9 - I hope to get some good mileage from it before anything breaks. Maybe you should get another G9 so I can follow your tips ;-)
MPB have some good deals at the moment for around 530 euro. I paid 520 locally in NL. It is in good shape (apart from the loose rubber on the SD card door which I discovered after I bought it)
I’ve just come to your channel Eli and I think the video looks fine. It looks ‘natural’ to me. No harm experimenting with some extra budget lights though if you want to. I’ve got the same camera clip as you - bargain! How PD can charge so much for their clip I don’t know. It is made of an inexpensive material, and they bang them out by the thousands! But I suppose it is like everything today, you are not actually buying the product but the labour and the overheads etc. A cup of coffee being the main example - true cost, about 25p, cafe price £3.75 ! (Sterling)
I love my GX8! Such a great and overlooked camera
So far I'm loving it too! Only complain is no IBIS in video, but I mainly shoot on a tripod so it's not really an issue!
Great video as usual! I've looked at the PD Clip a couple of times, but there has been reports of them not playing well with the backplate support of the EM5.3, since they moved to plastic construction.
Thank you so much! I have heard about that, I suppose a cage with a tripod thread could help out?
Great video . Looking forward to more
Thanks so much!

I must try out the propper peak design ones someday!
And I'm the same, I much prefer a nice wrist strap!
Please put chapters.
And hello from California.
Great stuff man keep they coming
Thanks man!

@@Elifarnhill I will end up using a clip. This would allow me to have a smaller bag.
I haven't found the best mug for coffee yet.

At nearly 40c my pack would be full of water bottles too!
Thanks for letting me know about the pens!
paper and low budget rules, thanks.
You're very welcome thanks for your comment!

SmallRig makes a similar grip for the EM-5II.
I'll look into it! Thanks for the comment!
Sorry about the screen on your G9 I would feel close to devasted if that happened to me.

Sad about your G9. Are you saving up for the G9ii?
I am, I'm torn between a good condition used OM1 with some nice glass or a brand new G9ii

@@nmecredy honestly if I can come across a good deal I'd love to get another G9, it's such a fantastic camera!
