WOW this is the Adobe Animate official channel - What a colorful personality for a big company. These tutorials are all over the place in terms of style and approach, almost as if they were randomly contributed by the community rather than carefully made by professionals in the communications field.
Animate can do a LOT of different things, and like everything else, each artist can have his/her own approach and style. Surely they are not randomly contributed, some are part of a series, and some are helping to teach a certain feature... all done by professionals! Like with most applications, there are many ways to do the same thing, and many different ways to work. Hopefully it has something for everybody. With over 20, 000 views - I think this one seemed to help a lot. headTrix, Inc. | Adobe Certified Training & Consulting www.headTrixTraining.com Consulting | Design | Development | Training

you can add more frames so that each keyframe is on the stage for 4 frames instead of 2 for example, to slow down the animation. Or you can add more variations with small movements to slow it down, or you can even change the sail from a frame-by-frame animation to a shape tween. I just wanted to demonstrate 2 simple ways of creating a movieclip quickly and easily to give everyone an idea of how they can be used in Animate. But everything can always be improved. headTrix, Inc. | Adobe Certified Training & Consulting www.headTrixTraining.com Consulting | Design | Development | Training
@@headTrix thank you! That's a good idea, of course. I think I will do it with more key frames. However, I still hope for the possibility of "Bezier" in upcoming updates.

Animate 2020 will not allow me to apply a "Classic Tween" to a MovieClip Symbol. I get an error that says: "The selected frame span(s) cannot be tweened. you must convert frame content to a symbol in order to tween." Has this process changed in Animate 2020?
Hi Dave. Sounds like you did not create a symbol. Classic Tweens only work Symbols, so you will need two keyframes and each keyframe will have the same symbol inside. You may want to start from the beginning of this series, or view this video first: th-cam.com/video/P7-IxpMwF6A/w-d-xo.html Hope that helps! cheers, mark headTrix, Inc. | Adobe Certified Training & Consulting www.headTrixTraining.com Consulting | Design | Development | Training

Seems to work for shapes created in Animate. But when I try with imported images or paste layers into a movieclip it does not work at all. For images, the movieclip remains empty, and animation layers within a movieclip anre now shown outside of it. Very frustrating experience.

It should be a bit similar, but keep in mind, this application started out as SmartSketch, then became Future Splash Animator, then became Macromedia Flash, then Adobe Flash, and now Adobe Animate. And they can't change it too much since some people have been using the application for 20 years!

Is it possible to make both keyframes Bezier at the end so the sail is not moving in such a sudden movement? Thanks for the tutorial anyway.
