The best engines in game are the SAL 6830 which you get after the quest with Walter on Neon, basically the same engines you had, just with 1000 more maneuver thrust. For reactors, the Pinch 8A is a close contender for best reactor, if you are willing to sacrifice 10% Power (from 40 down to 36) to gain 44% more Hull (from 1350 up to 1950). For weapons the Vanguard Obliterator (A Class) weapons are the second best weapons in the game, and as the engines are unlocked with a quest (Vanguard first quest, where you meet Hadrian) and then do not carry and level requirement.
All true just Quest locked and Not everyone is gonna want to do the quests to unlock the engines or weapons! I did but everyone plays differently so having a build that doesn’t include quest locked items makes the most sense I’d think

Well done, followed a few other ship build guides recenty, and they always start with a fully built ship with parts from about 10 different systems, so to follow it, you do more jumping about than on the main quest!
Which part is "best" depends on what you want to achieve. You claim the 8Z is the best reactor, but I think the 8A has the advantage in many situations because it provides _by far_ the most hull in the game. For a cargo ship for example, that might make more sense, you do not need 3 fully powered weapon banks anyway, and you can get Vasco, plus 5 power from skills and you're golden, with a much more robust ship. Same with many other components - they all have more stats than just one.
If you're running a huge, all in one dreadnought style home ship then you'll need auto weapons and a singular manual weapon so having the most possible reactor power(which is 47,technically 49 if you have Omari Hassan as crew since he gives a free power to your engines and shields) is very useful and just about needed. With the right crew i can have my 2 turrets fully powered along with my shields maxed and my full engines.
You don’t even need the RedMile-Vendor! You can get all ship-parts (currently unlocked; depends on skills and solved quests) from EVERY manufacturer (guess you need to visit them once to unlock) on nearly any planet!!! 💪🏻 Just build an Outpost and a Landingpad WITH VENDOR!!! I agree, in principle, that the size of the does not matter so long as top and maneuvering speeds are maintained - and that can be a whole other debate because I routinely run with lower ones due to some of the components in my builds. However, I have noticed that smaller ships have a tendency to land much closer to target locations on average. It is not a 100% guarantee that it will land closer but I noticed it when running through the Failure to Communicate side mission. My large ships landed anywhere from 400-500m away from the farm. The smaller ship that was less than 30x30 landed practically beside it meaning I didn't have to run very far at all to talk with Mr. Lopez. Just something to consider because having a large ship does not really affect combat if you keep moving and shooting. Guess it depends on your play style.....
Hey, seen a few of your vids, decent stuff! I have a question if you don't mind me asking. Your ship, Black Bird, in the intro shows your Reactor's power is 41, but the 8Z at Red Mile is only 40. The Reactor appears to be the same make, but what model is it in the intro, and how do you get it?
